Last time on Fertility Rites...

"Who is that girl?"

"Why... that's your sister, Relena." I almost winced. *How could I be attracted to my "younger" sister?!!*

*~*~*~*~*~

When the message that she was my beloved sister reached my brain, I stood shocked, *Was this my sister, Relena?* I thought as I continued to stare. Alex had to nudge me before I lost my trance-like state when she approached us.

"Millie...?" She whispered... unsure if I remembered her still.

"Hello Relena." I almost groaned out in frustration. She was a nymph compared to the others, a true ornament, that and she was also my sister. "How was your trip? I apologize, I didn't know you were coming so I had not sent soldiers to escort you."

"It has been well. And you know that I don't care for guards. So please don't bother yourself, brother."

"But..." I tried to reason

"Hush brother... How have you been all these years? I heard of your conquests and your winnings but I still wonder...."

"As you can see..." I gestured around me "... I am fine and am to be crowned king." I replied, almost conscious of what she'll think.

"Yes... you are... I am proud, brother, you are everything I thought you to be..."

"Your highness!" I heard someone distantly call. I turned just in time to see a young soldier calling out to me as he escorted a woman wearing short raven hair and a white satin wedding dress. I smiled apologetically to Relena as I turned to leave. I walked to the pitiful soldier as he exclaimed joy at seeing me.

"Your highness...." He moved slightly out of the way to present the lady "... the Lady Lucrezia Noin, princess of Camhilton... she is your to-be bride, your majesty."

"I see... welcome to Sanq, my lady. I am sorry... you must be weary, I will call a maid to..."

"There is no need, Marquis." I was startled when she interrupted me... but I became stock-still when I heard the name she called me. There was only one person who ever called me that... the little girl I had fought with and saved in Zion... little Lucy.

"Lucy...?" I asked, still in shock.

"So you do remember..." She smiled and I felt lighter and distinctly warmer. I whispered a thanks to my hard training for I knew it was the only reason preventing the emotion from showing on my face.

"Brother?" I heard someone say behind me. I suddenly remembered my sister, Relena, and turned to see her standing behind us, a gentle smile on her face.

"Relena... this is Lucy, my fiancée." I saw her smile again, much brighter now, and I felt relaxed... she approved.

"Great! Now someone can keep you in line." *Did she think me an animal that needs a trainer?* I couldn't help but ask myself as she said that.

~*~*~*~*Relena's pov*~*~*~*~

"Great! Now someone can keep you in line." *Especially when you learn of what that I've done...* I couldn't help but add in my head as I recalled my.... "...condition..." I whispered, not really noticing how I spoke my last thought aloud.

"Is there a problem, Relena." I heard my brother ask.

"No, Millie, I'm just thinking a bit." I mumbled incoherently, not wishing to explain further. "Brother, may I take leave.... I wish to rest a while before the ceremony." I asked, trying to prevent myself from pouting as I usually did with him. It seemed to be my lucky day as Millie readily agreed to my request.

I walked regally to the stairs of the palace but when he turned to his other guests, I hurriedly sneaked to the stables and took a white steed... my horse.

" Lightning."

I rode him past the guards stationed at the gate, keeping the hood of my cloak, which covers my identity, on. I continued riding into the deep of the woods when I heard shouts and cries for help. I immediately turned to that direction and saw a young woman-child on the ground, with scars and bruises, which she obviously received, from running and fighting back. Five men surrounded her, and my mind told me that they were thieves and slave drivers who'd no doubt sell her to some pitiful lords.

I hushed my horse and tied him up to a branch nearby before I crept by the bushes, I played with the thought of fighting them by use hand-to-hand combat, since I had forgotten to bring any weapon, but then that would be too tiresome.... I called unto the wind to help me in my task, along with fire, to do some tricks that would undoubtedly scare them off. Fire surrounded the five men as the wind blew tirelessly around the place. It was actually creepy in a way but since I was the person commanding them, I paid it no heed. When the men had left, I stood up straight to see the person I saved. She was a young girl, like I was, and a princess, I concluded as I looked over her clothing.

"Hello." I said, mildly amused by her frightened gaze.

"Fairy, keep away!" She said, at the same time moving her hands to a sign of the cross.

"I'm not a fairy... I'm a priestess... from Avalon." I told her. That stopped her, and she began to look at me curiously....

"But Avalon's not real... just old wives tale." She whispered, seemingly afraid to anger me.

*Maybe my show of power scared her.* I thought as I watched her. "You must Christian." I remarked as she fidgeted under my unblinking gaze.

"Yes" She replied and as I continued to look at her, I suddenly laughed. She stared at me suddenly, surprised by my behavior.

"Don't be afraid... I'm not insane. Anyway, you should get back to wherever you came from... after all there might be people worried about you now." I told her as I turned to leave....

"Wait! Who are you?"

"Relena... Relena Peacecraft."

"I'm Hilde. Hilde Yuy."

"Fare thee well, Hilde" I shouted as I left her, standing where I had saved her. Riding back to the palace... to my home.

to be continued...
