For three days, he tried to forget the voice that he had heard in the field, or tried to think that it was just his imagination. It would have been a simple thing to do if he didn't keep hearing it. The strange thing was that the only thing the voice said was to run away, but run away from what? He shook his head to clear away the thoughts and continued walking. It was only then that he saw a black-cloaked figure walk into the ally on his right. He determined that, by the way the person weaved through the crowd and the fact that they wore a heavy cloak in the middle of a summer's day, something wasn't right. Duo, being protective of the village's people, decided to 'talk' to this shady person.

He quietly stalked into the ally, knowing fully well that there was no way out other than the way in which he had entered. That meant that the other couldn't leave. It was a lot darker in the ally but still light enough to see. When he was approaching the figure, he heard them talking. He paused in his pursuit and listened to them.

"I have seen him" The voice was a deep monotone, [1] "he has not heeded his warnings" He wondered what the person, who he now knew was male, was talking about. Warnings? Who was he speaking to and whom was he talking about? He shrugged and continued to listen but soon found that there was nothing more said. He stepped out from against the ally's wall and made himself known,

"Who are you and what are you doing?" It was lacking imagination but it would do. The figure turned around to look at him but Duo didn't have the same honor, his cloak shadowed the man's face.

"Now is not the time," The figure said before jumping up and over the fence behind him, exiting the ally. Almost immediately after, a second figure jumped over the fence just as high as the other.

"So, I take it that there will be a time?!" Duo shouted after the two before turning around and leaving the ally. //So much for one way out// He thought. He had never seen people jump that high in his life, the fence was almost three meters high. [2] He was still wondering as to what the hell had just happened //Well, this goes on the top of my 'Weirdest Things That Have Ever Happened To Me' list//

He didn't know that things were about to get weirder.

Still a little dazed from what he had just seen, he didn't see the person in front of him until too late. "Shit! Sorry" he said

"It's alright, it seems both our minds were on something else"

"Yeah" He finally looked at the person. Pale skin, light blond hair and large blue-green eyes. "I haven't seen ya before and that means that you just got here, am I right?"

"Is it obvious?" The other boy looked a little embarrassed

"No, I just know everyone in the village. Duo Maxwell" He held out his hand to the other boy

"Quatre Winner" The other said and took the offered hand in his, "Nice to meet you"

"Nah, you'll get tired of me soon enough" Duo said with a grin "Anyways, I'll show you around"

"Are you sure? You just met me and you seem so trusting and kind. How do you know that I won't hurt you?" the blond asked rather surprised

"Oh, no! I have my suspicions, no offence intended,"

"None taken"

"But you wouldn't have told me your real name if you intended to hurt me, now would you"

"How did you know it was my real name?" Quatre was getting more and more surprised

"Sixth sense, also your eyes stayed locked to mine when you gave your name and if you were lying, you'd have to have a lot of talent" Duo explained without even looking at Quatre "besides, if you can't trust people or be nice to them without fear of being attacked, what the hell would be wrong with this world?"

"I see your point"

For the next half hour, Duo showed Quatre around the village and the surrounding area, talking about various things. The market, the farming area, the more… questionable areas of town - which he warned Quatre to stay away from, 'even though this is a small place, you can get lost in all the winding roads. Don't get lost here' He had said and Quatre listened to him. When there was nothing more to show, they ended up just outside the village.

"So, uh, how old are you?" Duo asked

"I'm 16"

"Really? Cool! When were you born?"

"The Second Setting of the Third Moon" Quatre said, Duo sighed

"Everyone's older than me," Duo said dramatically and Quatre chuckled lightly

"So, when were you born?" Quatre

"It's really weird. I'm born of the First, Second and Third Moons"

"Which day?"

"That's what's weird, I was born during an eclipse, it wasn't night and it wasn't day," Duo said.

"I can see why you would see that as being weird" Duo nodded and turned around to face Quatre again.

"Come on, lets go back," He said and started back into the village, Quatre followed behind at a slightly slower pace. "Hey! Can you come to my birthday celebration in four suns?" he said spinning around quickly, only then did he see the shadow in his knew friends eyes, they were darker and more… he wasn't really sure what had happened to them.

"In four suns, you wont be any where here to have a celebration" Quatre said In a dark tone. Duo got a questioning look on his face and was about to speak when Quatre grabbed his arm and pulled, spinning Duo into him. Natural instinct was to pull away, to free him self but he decided against it when he felt the cool, sharp pressure of a dagger against his throat.

"If you do exactly as I say, you will not be harmed" Quatre whispered into his ear. Duo only nodded, lightly and his mind showed him images of what could happen.
