Chapter Fifteen: Negotiations
"Hey Duo?" Wufei asked as he and Duo stood in the kitchen, peeling the massive amount of potatoes that sat in front of them on the table. "Heero went out and rented a movie." Wufei cleared his throat. "A reasonably romantic movie for us. Do you think that you could just forget about the whole deal we have for tonight? I won't follow you guys to the basketball game tonight if you do."
"No point in not tagging along." Duo replied simply. "Quatre and Trowa are coming so if you don't, Heero will get suspicious. Besides, Trowa already claimed you to be on his team." Duo cut another potato into small pieces and dumped it in the pot they were slowly filling for supper than night. "You can't let Trowa down just because you want to play 'cuddle with Heero'."
"Duo-" Wufei sighed as he finished his potato and turned to face Duo. "Come on, Heero's going to get suspicious if you join us for this specific movie. He already told me that it was a movie for just us to watch. I think that he may find it funny that we are standing in the kitchen together, peeling potatoes for an hour and I didn't tell you about it. He's not that dense Duo! Besides, shouldn't there be exceptions in our little arrangement? I mean, you're not going to want me to tag along to every single basketball game that you and Heero play. Right?"
"I don't know." Duo said, skillfully peeling another potato and tossing it in the pot. "It's kind of fun to have someone to swtich off with. It means that we can play for a lot longer. Besides-" Duo grinned mischieviously. "I've never won against Heero that easily before. Usually I only win because I get a few flukes in, but having you distract Heero so much, it really does wonders for my game."
Wufei rolled his eyes and took a deep breath. "Duo! I'm asking you to just forget about our arrangement for tonight."
"And I'm telling you no." Duo replied. "In case you don't remember, we had to make this stupid arrangement to have you follow us around like a puppy dog because you couldn't swallow your jealousy during a party with all of our friends there. A party that, must I remind you, was for our friend's anniversairy." Duo chuckled and tossed yet another potato in the pot. "If Heero hadn't thought to get them a room at the motel, then their anniverairy would have been completely because of you."
"Because of me?" Wufei growled. "If you could learn to keep your hands to yourself, I wouldn't have had to be like that."
"Well I didn't hear Heero objecting." Duo said cockingly. "If anything, I think he was enjoying it."
"Heeo doesn't want to ruin your friendship, therefore he wasn't going to mention that you were doing something so dishonorable." Wufei retorted. "It had nothing to do with his enjoyment of the matter."
"Ah yes, but why do you think he doesn't want to ruin our friendship?" Duo teased and then danced away from Wufei when he lunged for Duo. "Come on Wufei, why don't you just admit that you aren't everything that Heero had always been looking for."
"Oh? And you are?" Wufei snorted. "In case you didn't notice, Heero had the option to chose you but he didn't, he picked me!"
"That was only because he thought that you were the better deal at the time and then he changed his mind as he realized what a bore you actually are!" Duo snapped and threw a potato peel at Wufei which Wufei sidestepped easily. "You were always afraid of that Wufei and now you're finally realizing your fear!"
"Duo! Wufei!" Heero greeted as he walked into the kitchen, looking at the two of them. "What's going on?"
Wufei and Duo instantly stopped fighting and turned to Heero with identical "we weren't fighting" looks on their face.
"Hey 'Ro." Duo said as he smiled happily and turned back to peeling the potato, shooting a look at Wufei that expressed how much he was looking forward to Heero leaving.
"Heero." Wufei replied as he went over to him and gave him a quick kiss, making sure that Duo was watching him. "Did you put that movie in a safe place?"
Heero nodded. "Yeah, Trowa and Quatre won't be able to find it until after we watch it. So we won't have to worry about them being half way through it when we decide to go and watch it."
Wufei smiled, that had completely ruined one of their night together last night. Duo had to go and talk with someone at the office and so Heero and Wufei had had an hour or so to themselves. They were going to go and watch a movie but somehow, Trowa and Quatre had come across their movie and had been halfway through it when they had gone to the living room to start it. It was a good movie but Wufei and Heero hadn't been able to pick it up when they had sat down so they both had just gone to bed, in separate rooms.
"Hm." Duo said, frowning to himself. "Heero, why don't you finish cutting potatoes with Wufei while I go upstairs and take a shower before we head out to the basketball court. I smell like motorcycle fluid and I don't think it's going to improve duirng our game." Duo nodded to Heero and Wufei and then headed out of the kitchen.
Wufei blinked, wondering why Duo had all of a sudden worried about what he smelled like. He hadn't minded five minutes ago when Wufei had finally had to start breathing through his mouth only in order to not die from the smell.
"Did you tell him?" Heero asked as he picked up Duo's knife and began to peel potatoes.
"Tell him what?" Wufei questioned in confusion. "Oh, about the movie? I told him that we wanted to be alone tonight but I'm not sure if he actually listened to me." Wufei sighed as he picked up another potato. "He doesn't seem to be very understanding about the fact that we need some alone time together sometimes."
"That's just Duo." Heero said with a shrug. "Why? Do you think that he has some ulterior motive or something?"
Wufei sighed and shook his head idly. "No." Heero would never understand why Wufei had given up his movie alone-time with Heero just to tag along to all of their basketball games. Heero would say that Wufei was just being clingy. Heero just didn't understand those sort of things.
"Wufei?"
"What?"
Heero looked to be fumbling with words and then he finally sighed and turned towards Wufei. "You and Duo seem to be, at ends about me."
"Huh?"
"Duo always makes sure that we're never alone in a place we could do something and you make sure that me and Duo can never be alone in a place something could happen." Heero stated simply. "It's rather annoying. It seems neither of you trust me to make a good decision about the two of you. Like both of you think that if you leave me alone with the other I will forget about you. It's rather-" Heero looked for the words again. "annoying. To know that neither of you trust me. Especially when it would make me happy to be alone with you. And aren't relationships supposed to be about making everyone happy?"
"We trust you Heero. And rarely is everyone happy."
"It doesn't feel like you two trust me right now." Heero informed Wufei and then turned to look at the potatoes.
"Well we do Heero." Wufei said, squeezing Heero's hand reassuredly. "I know that we both do. It's just, maybe we don't trust each other enough to be able to leave them alone with you. I don't trust Duo because I know that Duo's pining for you and Duo doesn't trust me because he thinks I'll come up with some reason for you to stop being friends with him or to push him away."
"But I'm not going to do that to either of you because of the other."
"It's just hard to accept that."
"Hn. I got us a new movie to watch at the video store while I was out this afternoon." Heero picked up a movie that he had placed on the table while Wufei had been preoccupied with Duo called 'Shanghai Noon'. {1} "It's supposed to be good."
"Duo would like that one. It's sort of funny but at the same time has a lot of action." Wufei commented as he took the movie from Heero. "There's a sequel to it too."
"We could get both of them." Heero smiled and pulled out the sequel from the ground.. "I know, I got that too."
Wufei nodded and followed Heero to the stove where they put on the potatoes, figuring that it would take a long time for them to cook and that their movie would probably be done before the potatoes were. But still, they put it on a low temperature
"So I guess Duo's going to be watching this movie with us later? Huh?" Wufei asked as he walked side by side with Heero out to the living room, realizing he hadn't picked out something for just them after all. "I thought that you wanted it to be just us."
"You can make it up to me later." Heero stated simply. "Besides, I invited Quatre and Trowa to sit in on the movie with us."
"What?" Wufei blinked. "But I thought that you didn't like having people with us while we're watching a movie."
"I never said that." Heero told Wufei as he pulled Wufei to him for a kiss. "I just said that sometimes I want to be alone with just you. So we will be, after the movie."
"Oh." Wufei said and then looked at Heero with a suspicious look. "What are we going to do after the movie."
"Nothing much." Heero replied and walked to his 'seat' on the couch and grinned up at Wufei. "You're just going to have to give me a massage."
"What?" Wufei exclaimed, sitting down next to him. "You're the one that decided to go and get a movie that Duo would like and invite Quatre in here with his boyfriend."
"That's because I figured you wouldn't be able to tell Duo that he wasn't allowed to sit with us. Either that or Duo wouldn't listen to you because of what you said last week." Heero explained. "Therefore it is your fault that we are stuck with them. Besides, I would rather have Quatre and Trowa in here with us than just Duo. It's not as awkward when you have another couple in here too."
"Just tell me you didn't invite Neko." Wufei muttered.
"What's wrong with Neko?"
"I don't know." Wufei sighed exasperatedly. "I just think that you spend too much time with her."
"I haven't spent any time with her for a week."
Wufei rolled his eyes. "You just don't understand."
"Hn."
"So when are we going to go and play our basketball game?" Wufei questioned, shifting slightly closer to Heero.
"When Duo gets out of the shower." Was the quick response.
"What are we going to do until then?"
"Hn."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Wufei didn't have a time to get an answer because the next thing he knew, he was being attacked, by Heero's mouth.

"How do you think we're supposed to tell them that we're ready to go?" Quatre asked as he stood at the doorway to the living room with Duo.
"We go in and tell them we're ready to go?" Duo suggested mockingly.
"Duo! If you were making out with Heero, would you want to be interrupted by something like that?" Quatre questioned shockingly.
"If I were in there making out with Heero, I think that Wfufei would interrupt me with something a lot worse than that." Duo stated and then walked into the living room. "Hey lover boy and company. We gotta go and get playing before it gets dark. So you two want to let each other breathe and come and join us or what?"
"Give us five minutes." Heero said and then went back down to Wufei's mouth.
"Five minutes?"
"Affirmative." Heero repeated and then glared at Duo. "Go away!"
Wufei smirked and Duo growled. "Come on you two, you can make out later."
"No we can't." Heero said, sitting up, much to Wufei's dismay. "We're going to eat supper when we get home. We'll be done at about seven o'clock. Both me and Wufei will take separate showers between basketball and dinner, therefore we have no time there. And then we're watching a movie with you, Quatre and Trowa."
"Don't worry, Trowa and Quatre won't notice if you and Wufei start snogging."
Heero rolled his eyes. "Not the point baka."
"Sure it is." Duo responded and then walked over to push Heero off of Wufei and onto the floor. "Now come on, I wanna go and kick some Trowa-Wufei ass."
Heero got up and pulled Wufei up off of the couch, continueing to glare at Duo for interrupting him and Wufei's 'activities'.
Duo walked out ahead of the group as the other four ex-pilots struggled to get their shoes on. The first one one out was Wufei who ran up to catch up with Duo and pulled him closer to him with his shirt so that they could talk without being overheard. "What in the hell do you think you're doing Duo? That was completely uncalled for. I didn't barge in and seperate you and Heero when you guys were practically pressed up to each other fixing that damn car of yours."
"That was different." Duo replied curtly. "I wasn't attached to his mouth."
"You might as well been."
"Oh really?" Duo growled. "I think that someone's jealous."
"I think that someone's overstepping boundaries." Wufei retorted. "Heero's upset that we're acting like this. He thinks that we don't trust him at all with the way we always have to been with the other person if they're with Heero. And you know what, I think he's right."
"Really?" Duo batted his eyelashes at Wufei. "What do you want me to do about it?"
"Stop this arrangement. We can make another one."
"LIke what? You get him when he's horny, I get him when he's not?"
"Duo!"
"What? There's not really much of an arrangement that we can come up with unless one of us kicks the other out."
"I think that that might be best."
"What?" Duo stopped in his tracks and looked straight at Wufei. "Dude, I am not being kicked out of my home because my housemates have gotten together. You promised that I wouldn't have to leave."
"That was before this arrangement stopped working."
"It never worked in the first place!" Duo exclaimed.
"Exactly." Wufei agreed. "Which is why one of us have to go."
"Well then Wufei, I'm sure you can find another house. It will more of an edge to your relationship. You know, that feeling that you might not be seeing the other for days-"
"Duo-"
"And so it just so much more suspenseful and passionate. You'll probably like it."
"Duo, you're going to be the one to leave."
"Nuh uh man. I'm not going to leave. I have had to leave every single home I've ever known but I am not going to leave this one without a good fucking reason, CHANG!"
"What's going on here?" Quatre asked as he, Trowa and Heero approached the two of them.
"Nothing." Wufei said quickly and turned away.
Duo turned to them though and shook his head. "This love sick puppy dog is kicking me out of the house because I interrupted his snog in the house." Duo kicked at the ground and glared accusingly at Wufei. "He's kicking me out because he didn't get to kiss Heero. Well then, here's Heero, go ahead and kiss him." Duo turned and ran back to the house.
What a joke!

{1- It's an okay movie! It has Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan in it. I haven't watched it for a long time but I still remember it so it must have been sort of good LOL}

BTW..another reason for my slow update is because school's starting in three days and I've been out shopping for school stuff ::sighs:: it sucks that I have to go back to school again ...why must this sort of thing happen to me? Why??? It's just not fair!
Oh and I'm thinking up a new fanfic (1x2 and 3x4 ^^) but it's untitled so far so when I come up with a title I'll post it ^^

"What in the hell do you think you're doing Duo? That was completely uncalled for. I didn't barge in and seperate you and Heero when you guys were practically pressed up to each other fixing that damn car of yours."
"That was different." Duo replied curtly. "I wasn't attached to his mouth."
"You might as well been."
"Oh really?" Duo growled. "I think that someone's jealous."
"I think that someone's overstepping boundaries." Wufei retorted. "Heero's upset that we're acting like this. He thinks that we don't trust him at all with the way we always have to been with the other person if they're with Heero. And you know what, I think he's right."
"Really?" Duo batted his eyelashes at Wufei. "What do you want me to do about it?"
"Stop this arrangement. We can make another one."
"LIke what? You get him when he's horny, I get him when he's not?"
"Duo!"
"What? There's not really much of an arrangement that we can come up with unless one of us kicks the other out."
"I think that that might be best."
"What?" Duo stopped in his tracks and looked straight at Wufei. "Dude, I am not being kicked out of my home because my housemates have gotten together. You promised that I wouldn't have to leave."
"That was before this arrangement stopped working."
"It never worked in the first place!" Duo exclaimed.
"Exactly." Wufei agreed. "Which is why one of us have to go."
"Well then Wufei, I'm sure you can find another house. It will more of an edge to your relationship. You know, that feeling that you might not be seeing the other for days-"
"Duo-"
"And so it just so much more suspenseful and passionate. You'll probably like it."
"Duo, you're going to be the one to leave."
"Nuh uh man. I'm not going to leave. I have had to leave every single home I've ever known but I am not going to leave this one without a good fucking reason, CHANG!"
"What's going on here?" Quatre asked as he, Trowa and Heero approached the two of them.
"Nothing." Wufei said quickly and turned away.
Duo turned to them though and shook his head. "This love sick puppy dog is kicking me out of the house because I interrupted his snog in the house." Duo kicked at the ground and glared accusingly at Wufei. "He's kicking me out because he didn't get to kiss Heero. Well then, here's Heero, go ahead and kiss him." Duo turned and ran back to the house.

{1- It's an okay movie! It has Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan in it. I haven't watched it for a long time but I still remember it so it must have been sort of good LOL}
{A/N: alright, that's it for now...sheesh this is getting complicated....
BTW..another reason for my slow update is because school's starting in three days and I've been out shopping for school stuff ::sighs:: it sucks that I have to go back to school again ...why must this sort of thing happen to me? Why??? It's just not fair!
Oh and I'm thinking up a new fanfic (1x2 and 3x4 ^^) but it's untitled so far so when I come up with a title I'll post it ^^
