*THUMP* "Waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!"
The moment he'd heard the thump, Trowa had rushed from the kitchen--where he was
making lunch with 'help' from Chibi Trowa and Chibi Wufei--to see what mishap
had befallen the Japanese chibi clone this time. He arrived in the living room
to find Chibi Heero on the floor by the bookcase, wailing away as he usually did
when he fell off something he had attempted to climb.
"Hee-chan," he said with a sigh as he scooped up the crying child, "didn't I
tell you not to climb the bookcase anymore?"
"Uh-huh," the chibi sniffled, tears still falling from his large cobalt eyes.
"So why were you climbing it again?"
"I was twyin' to get dat book down," he replied, pointing to a storybook on the
top shelf. "I wanted to wead a stowy. I sowwy."
Trowa carried Chibi Heero into the kitchen, smiling at the sight of Chibi Trowa
and Chibi Wufei playing on the floor, and sat the Japanese child on the counter.
"Don't apologize," he said gently, checking his charge over to make sure there
were no cuts or scrapes, then brushed a kiss to his forehead. "Next time you
want a book, though, ask me or Wufei to get it down for you, okay?"
"Kaybees, Twowa," Chibi Heero said, smiling a little and hugging the tall pilot.
"I wuv yoo!"
"Love you, too, Hee-chan," the green-eyed pilot said with a smile, then set the
child on the floor. "Now, you three play nice while I go see what Du-chan and
Quat-chan are up to."
"Okies!" Chibi Wufei said, beaming at Trowa and moving to glomp Chibi Trowa--who
blushed and giggled--before asking the third chibi, "You wanna pway wiff our
Gundams?"
Trowa smiled to himself as he left the kitchen, moving into the living room
again. Things had been quiet lately, ever since Heero had vanished without a
trace. He couldn't say that he was surprised; the Japanese pilot had taken to
working constantly and pining for his absent lovers. It was only a matter of
time before he took off like Duo and Quatre had.
The thing that truly surprised the French-Latino pilot was the fact that Chang
Wufei was still hanging around.
It was incredible how much the Chinese pilot seemed to love the chibi clones.
He was the one who read to them at night, and the one who watched them when
Trowa had to run to the store for supplies. It was Wufei who spent a majority
of the time patching up Chibi Heero's numerous injuries without complaint, and
he never had one complaint about taking care of so many little ones.
It was very cozy, and gave Trowa a feeling of domestic bliss. It had taken him
a long time to admit that he was falling for Chang Wufei, and ever since they'd
found the little clones at that OZ facility he had fallen a bit deeper. Now
that Heero had left, he reveled in spending time alone with the Chinese
bishounen. True, they didn't spend much time alone, but he enjoyed it all the
same. He loved the children as much as he loved Wufei, and he wouldn't give up
any of them.
"Why do cats purr?"
"Because they want to let people know when they are happy, Duo."
"So why don't lions purr?"
"I'm not so sure that they don't, Quatre. You'd have to ask Trowa."
"When's wunch? Me am hungwy!"
"So me too!"
Wufei laughed. "Trowa's working on it now, bois. Should we go see how much
longer it will be?"
"Haiii!"
Trowa smiled gently as he walked into the den to find Wufei on the floor with
the braided and blond chibis bouncing on his back. His soft laugh drew the
attention of all three, and within seconds he found the bois both attached to
his legs.
"Hihi, Twowa!" Chibi Quatre chirped, eyes sparkling.
"It wunch time now?" Chibi Duo asked hopefully.
Trowa smiled again and bent to pick up both children. "Hai, it's lunch time.
Come on, we have to get you two *and* Tro-chan, Hee-chan, and Fei-chan cleaned
up."
Wufei, who had pulled himself to his feet and been watching the exchange with a
small secretive smile, spoke up: "I'll finish up in the kitchen, Tro, if you
take care of the kids."
"Alright."
No sooner were the words out of their mouths than the three bois who were
*supposed* to be in the kitchen peered around the corner.
"Twowa, can we eat now?" Chibi Wufei asked, looking a bit annoyed. "Two is
hungwy, an' so is Heewo an' so me too!" Chibi Trowa merely nodded from his spot
behind the Chinese child, while Chibi Heero chimed in with, "Wan' peanut
butter."
Wufei laughed softly. "Hai, bois, we're going to eat in a minute. You go with
Trowa and get cleaned up, and I'll meet you all in the kitchen, okay?"
