~2 months later~

The Preventer building shook as another missile from the attacking Aries hit the building. Une ran down the long hallway trailing Trowa while Quatre trailed Une. Heero, Wufei, Sally and Noin were outside in Leos trying to stop the oncoming forces. Trowa and Quatre stayed behind to protect Une which was good since the opposing force also sent in ground troops.

The enemy were on the lower floors working their way up. Une, Trowa and Quatre had been on one of the lower floors fighting them. Then they retreated up to the higher floors and into the surveillance room. Trowa locked the door and hoped the enemy didn't realize where they were. Quatre and Une hurriedly brought up the cameras to see where the enemy was and try to out maneuver them. Quatre gasped when he saw the cameras for the levels above them. The enemy was coming in from the top and the bottom.

"Damn it. We're trapped." Quatre swore.

Une looked at all the screens trying to find a way out while Trowa stepped up behind Quatre to look at the screens as well. Then Une saw something.

"Maybe not. If we can get the third floor, there doesn't seem to be anyone from there on down."

"Unfortunately we have about twenty to thirty soldiers between here and the third floor." Trowa snidely remarked.

He had not forgiven her for not sending him on that mission instead of Zechs.

"Well it's the best we got, Barton. Live with it." Une snapped at him.

She knew why he was angry with her but she still backed her decision one hundred per cent.

"Let's go for it. It's a shot, a slim one, but it's better than nothing." Quatre said. Trowa nodded at him and went to the door with his gun out. He looked down the hallway and saw it was clear and nodded back to them.

The three of them slowly made their way down the hall when ahead of them a squadron of rebels rounded the corner and opened fire. They all hit the ground, while she threw a fog grenade in their general direction. The fog effectively hid them enough that the rebel forces couldn't make their way through it and risk getting killed. Une looked over and realized that both Trowa and Quatre were hit. She got a hold of each of them and dragged them into one of the offices. It took a few minutes and she hoped that the fog grenade lasted long enough until she got them hidden.

She finally got them inside the office and locked the door. She heard the enemy soldiers' disbelieving shouts and footsteps running away from her. She didn't care at the moment though, she had to assess their damages. She looked at Quatre and tears started running down her face. His eyes stared unseeing at the ceiling, his lips forever kept in a grimace. She would have checked him for injuries if not for the bullet hole in the middle of his head. She reached over him and closed his eyes and sighed, "Night Quatre. Sleep well."

Then she quickly moved to her other compatriot. Trowa lay in a growing pool of blood. She quickly checked him for injuries and started to sob at what she found. He had been hit three times in the chest. One near his heart and two others on his right side. He had blood flowing out of his mouth and he was coughing. His breathing was harsh, and loud in the now quiet office. He opened his mouth and tried to speak. Une laid her hand on his lips, "Don't talk. You're hurt, but don't worry we'll get you out of here. You'll be fine."

Trowa shook his head and gasped, "Don't…lie. I'm…dying. Quatre?"

Tears were streaming down Une's face. These two had always had a special place in her heart and now they were dead and dying before her very eyes. She felt helpless and for the first time in a long while, scared.

"He's gone, Trowa. I'm so sorry."

Trowa shook his head again, "Don't…be. Not…your…fault. You've…always been…a…sister to me. I'll…miss…you."

Trowa tried to speak again but pain raced through him and he arched his back. His mouth wide open in a soundless scream. Then he went limp. Une shakily placed her fingers on his neck and sobbed out loud when she felt no pulse. She gently closed his eyes as well and sat there weeping.

She heard a sound in front of her and looked up. She saw a young boy with glowing violet eyes and a long braid standing in front of her. Beside him stood Zechs, Trowa and Quatre. He smiled at her and she felt calm even though tears still ran down her face. He held out his hand to her and she took it. She never noticed the rebel behind her, or the sound of the gun as he shot her in the head.

It rained outside.

Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain

~Later~

Heero, Wufei, and Sally were in a posh living room in the Sanq Palace reviewing a map. They had been severly outnumbered when the enemy attacked the Preventer base. In the end they had to retreat with only a small number of Preventers. They were the only ones left. They knew Une, Quatre and Trowa were dead. The enemy wasted no time in airing the news to the whole world.

They even paraded the bodies of the dead around in a sick celebration. Then they burned them in a huge pile that was televised to the Earth and colonies. Noin had taken her two children and was now in hiding. She wanted to fight but she had two children to take care of.

There was no funerals for the fallen, but the remaining Preventers grieved in their own way. Sally was then appointed the leader of the group. She led them further away and started to gather forces to fight back.

For the next several months, they used guerilla tactics to kill the enemy. Skirmishes had broken out everywhere against the new regime. They had changed from "Friend of the Colonies" to the "New Romafeller." They wanted to bring the world and colonies under one rule.

Most nations fought back with fervor but soon were falling one by one. The pacifism that Relena had preached about was working against them. Most nations had gotten rid of the bigger weapons and now were paying the price. Sanq was flooded with refuges from different countries.

Relena still believed in pacifism but now she realized that you have to fight for it. She still lead the country and refused to allow it to fall. The remaining preventers gathered here and fought back the enemy as best they could.

Relena left Dorothy in charge of getting the ammunition and metal needed to build an army to fight the threat. Relena was still the hope of many people and many countries refused to give in because she wasn't.

We all fall down]

Sally pointed at a spot on the map, "The reports I've been given tell me this is where the main headquarters is. If we hit that and kill their leader the rest should crumble."

Heero and Wufei both nodded.

"But who should we send?"

"I will go, Heero is needed here more than I." Wufei said.

"NO!" Sally shouted, "I don't want you going."

"Sally, I wouldn't go if it wasn't necessary but it is. Heero's skills are needed here more than mine. He's better at strategy than I am. I will go."

"No, we can send someone else…"

Heero walked out of the room to give the two some room. Wufei walked over to Sally and cupped her face.

"Sally, Wo Ai Ni. I don't want to go anymore than you want me too. But there isn't anyone else I trust to do this right. I can't promise you I'll be back but I want you to know I love you and I always will."

Tears slipped out of Sally's eyes, "I know, I love you too. And I know you have to do this. I just…"

Wufei held her close, "I know."
