Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Gundam Wing: Next ❯ The Triad ( Chapter 3 )
Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing or any of the characters, (or anything affiliated with Gundam Wing). They belong to Bandi Entertainment, Sunrise Entertainment, and the original creator. If I did own them, I'd be rich. Other characters, however, are mine in affiliation with Kirin Rei Shido. She knows that I also have these characters and am writing my own fic based on them. My fan fiction, however, mainly focuses on my character, Shin Kaze Kinyoubi. Besides, I don't even really have a computer that works very well so if you want to sue me, you won't get much. I have to use other people's computer. Well, thanks and I hope you enjoy. ^_^

Gundam Wing: Next - The Triad
----------------------------------------------
Kirin heard the beep come from her computer and immediately answered it.
"Shido." Came the girl's reply.
"Hey, it's me. He's gone."
"Good. You didn't say anything to him did you?"
"No, I didn't say anything to him. He still thinks I'm Reina Archer, Quatre's secretary. But there's a little sticky detail."
"What?" Kirin asked, annoyed.
"We're kind of together now."
"What?"
"Well, as you know he crashed on the couch last night. We kissed when he was on his way out the door."
"Great! You know what this could mean for our mission?"
"No, what does Duo and I being together have to do with our mission?"
"Well, for starters, it's going to distract you. You have feelings for him."
"Yeah, so, I've always had feelings for him. Ever since the last war I've had a crush on him and that never affected anything before."
"But now you're dating him. That could be a distraction to the objective of our mission."
"Kirin, he has never been a distraction for me. Every time I saw him on TV, it never interfered with a mission."
"We never had missions when you saw him on TV."
"Okay." Shin thought for a moment. "Well, it never distracted me from my training and classes."
"Yeah, right. Like you did your homework? Honestly, I don't know how you pasted the training and classes."
"Oh come on, Kirin. You know I'm the best at what I do."
"Yeah, is that why we need Yume to back you up?"
"Hey, that was low, even for you. Come on, Kirin. I'm good at infiltration and stealth. Oh, and I'm a good hacker."
"So are Yume and I."
"Yeah, but what would you do without me? You'd be all alone and I know you would miss me if I ever left you guys."
"Yeah, you're right. But I can't believe you're dating Duo Maxwell."
"Yeah, well now that I found out that he's the guy that I'm meant to be with, I'm not letting him go."
"Quit talking about that."
"Why?"
"Because it makes me want to help you."
"And helping me is a bad thing now?"
"No, I never said that. I just don't think you should get into a relationship with him."
"Well, it's too late for that."
"Alan's going to kill you when he finds out."
"Screw him."
"Oh really?"
"Not literally, but that's not the point here. You wanted me to call you back because you were going to tell me something?"
"Right. We're leaving in about two months. That gives us enough time to track the rest of them down and get their info and then tie up loose ends, erase our tracks."
"Roger."
"We'll meet at the rendezvous point which then we'll get the gundams and return to base."
"Roger."
"Okay. I've got to call Yume now. Let her know the news. If you want to tell her about Duo, feel free…if you want to have her blow you up the next time she sees you."
"No, I'll let her find out on her own."
"That would be worse than if you tell her."
"I know, but hopefully when she does find out, it won't be that big of a deal."
"I hope you know what you're doing."
"Trust me. I know you guys better than I know myself."
"Yeah, I know, it's scary actually."
"Just like it's scary that you guys know me and each other better than you know yourselves."
"True. Well, Shido out."
"Kinyoubi out."
Shin clicked the little phone icon on the video-com, hanging up. She left the link open just incase someone decided to call her. Although it was a secure line, Yume or someone from base might want to contact her.
----------------------------------------------
Kirin watched the screen as Heero Yuy made his way into his apartment. Kirin had tapped into the security cameras in the building and figured it be best not to set any cameras inside the apartment. She knew what it was like to be watched every minute of her life. Lee had cameras planted all over that colony, and who knows, even bugged the whole stupid place as well. No matter where they went on the colony, surely Lee Ikuza would be watching, and maybe listening. Kirin didn't know if Lee was watching her right now, but it didn't matter to her at the moment. She was tracking Heero Yuy, the unspoken leader of the gundam pilots during the war. Sure, Quatre was leader of the pilots, but unless he had mastered the Zero system and been able to fight without it, Heero would have clearly been the only leader.
Kirin's computer beeped from the activity. Heero was leaving again.
"Prepare yourself, Yuy. You've just met your match."
Kirin got up, collected her jacket, and headed out, but not before picking up her sunglasses which displayed the current location of her subject only to the person wearing the glasses.
Kirin was leaving the vicinity. Heero just happened to be on a colony not too far away from the organization. A guard stopped her.
"General. I can't let you leave. You know no one is allowed outside unless given orders."
"I am on a mission."
"But general-"
"If you want to call Lee, go ahead. He'll tell you the same thing. Part of my mission is to track down the gundam pilots and if you want to stop me, feel free. But if you get in my way you'll have to deal with Lee. It's very important that I track down this gundam pilot."
"Yes, ma'am, general." The guard stepped out of Kirin's way.
Kirin read the location of Heero one again. He was on the same colony Shin was on for her part of the mission. Great! She had to warn Shin just incase they happened to bump into each other. Plus, Kirin needed a place to go when she got there. Kirin reached in her jacket pocket and pulled out her cell phone.
----------------------------------------------
Shin realized she had fallen asleep with nothing to do in the apartment waiting for anything to happen when she heard the phone ring. When she finally realized that the phone was ringing, she got up and ran to it.
"Hello?"
"Where have you been? I've waited ten rings."
"Hi, Kirin. I fell asleep. Why did you wait that long?"
"I figured you'd pick up sooner or later. If not, I would have just come over anyway."
"What? You're coming over?" Shin asked, shocked.
"Yeah. I've been tracking Heero Yuy and found out that he's on the same colony you're on."
"Really? I wonder what he's doing here."
"Probably the same thing the others are there for. Just trying to live a normal life."
"But what is Duo doing here? He lives on L2 as a scrap dealer." Shin stated matter of factly.
"Maybe he's on vacation?"
"Hey! Maybe he's here because Quatre called them."
"Quatre called them? Why did he call them?" Kirin asked.
"Well, Trowa told me when I met him that Quatre called them to meet me."
"He called them over just to meet you? I find that hard to believe."
"I know. That's what I thought, too. Something's going on between the five of them."
"Maybe, or maybe he just really wanted to see his friends again."
"Do you really think Heero is friends with any of them?"
"Yeah, I do. It has been about four years since the wars ended. They could've all became really good friends, maybe even best friends."
"Yeah, I guess. But Heero doesn't seem like the type to have friends."
"I know. But there's only one way to find out. And since Mr. Heero Yuy is on the colony, I'm making my way there and I thought I'd call you to give you warning and to see if I could stay there for awhile."
"Sure. Do I really have any say in it anyway?"
"I don't know. You might."
"Come on, Kirin."
"No, not really."
"That's what I thought."
"I'll be there in a couple hours."
"You need me to pick you up at the port?"
"Yeah. I'll call you when I get there."
"But then you'll have to wait."
"That's okay. You'd make me wait anyway."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You know what it means."
Shin rolled her eyes and realized Kirin couldn't see it. "Whatever."
"I'll see you then."
"Yeah. I'll have my cell with me just in case I'm out so call me on that and not the home phone."
"Alright. Oh, and as long as I'm there, I'm not Kirin in public."
"Okay. Who are you then?"
"Hana Yashiro."
"Roger."
----------------------------------------------
Kirin hung up and tucked her phone back into her inner coat pocket. She continued to walk to the street as she turned off the GPS in her sunglasses and hailed a taxi.
"Where to beautiful?" The cab driver asked as she slid into the back seat.
"Spaceport please." Kirin said as she closed the door and put on her seat belt.
The cab driver took off towards the spaceport as he was asked and they were there in no time at all. Kirin got out of the taxi and paid the driver, giving him a big tip for getting her there so quickly.
"Thanks." The driver said.
"Think nothing of it. It's a thank you for getting me here so fast and for the complement earlier."
Kirin turned away from the taxi and made her way to the spaceport building. As the sliver hair girl entered the automatic double doors, she noticed the bustle of people making their way to ticket desks, baggage claim, exits, entrances, hurrying so they won't be late for their flight. What was everyone in such a hurry for? Did everyone not have enough hours in his or her day to slow down? Kirin walked to a line to one of the ticket desks and waited patiently.
In front of Kirin stood a mother and her child, a little girl. Kirin noticed that the little girl was looking at her in wonder. She looked down at the little girl and smiled. The little girl smiled back.
"Hello."
"Hi." Kirin answered.
"What's you're name?"
"My name is Hana. And what's you're name?"
"Melissa, don't talk to strangers." The girl's mother turned and said then looked at Kirin in almost disgust and horror.
"But mommy, she's not a stranger. Her name is Hana, I asked her."
"You don't know her, sweet heart, she's a stranger." The woman took her daughter and left to go to another line.
Kirin was sort of sad, but she was used to it. People everywhere thought she was a freak because of her hair and eyes. The only ones who truly understood her were her friends at the organization, Shin and Yume. Kirin really had no family although her uncle had taken her in, but she didn't consider him family for what he did to her and her parents. Shin also had a family once upon a time, but had lost them to the first war between OZ and the Earth Sphere then became an orphan on L2. Yume was another story, she had been an orphan all her life, and the only family she knew was Kirin and Shin. The three of them were the only real family each other had. Shin knew she had a brother and sister out there somewhere, but she didn't know where to start looking, and now Shin had found the man she truly loved.
Kirin made her way to the ticket counter where a woman greeted her nicely.
"Hello, how may I help you?"
"I'd like to purchase a ticket for a shuttle going to L4."
The woman behind the counter typed some things into her computer, read the screen for a moment then looked back at Kirin. "There's a flight leaving in half an hour."
"Perfect. I'll take that one."
"Of course. That will be 450 credits. How do you wish to pay, miss-?"
"Yashiro, Hana Yashiro. Is it alright if I pay in cash?"
"Of course, but we except nothing larger than 50."
"I've got 20's."
"That's fine then."
Kirin counted out the credits until she got to 460 and handed it to the clerk. The woman counted to make sure it was correct, hit some keys with her fingers and gave Kirin her change. A moment later, Kirin received her ticket and instructions on where to go.
----------------------------------------------
Shin had decided to take a shower since she was going out and after her shower, she went into her closet.
"What to wear? I shouldn't make a big deal about this. I'm only going out and then going to pick up Kirin at the spaceport. But what if I see Duo when I'm out?" Shin panicked a bit before she found something to wear. Hip hugger, boot cut blue jeans, a sky blue shirt with white and dark blue stripes and double shoulder straps with the longer straps crossing in the back and a pair of white sneakers with ankle socks. Shin walked over to the body mirror to look herself over. Something was missing, but what? Shin looked at her mirror image carefully. For starters, her hair should be up; it was just the way she wore it, but then she quickly decided to wear her hair in a braid. She grabbed a hair tie and braided her hair with careful but quick precession. Just then, Shin noticed that she almost forgot the most important thing in her ensemble, her cross. She trotted over to her dresser and took the necklace out of the jewelry box and placed it around her neck.
"There, I think I'm ready now." Shin grabbed her sunglasses off the counter and her blue jeans jacket off the hook, checking for her cell phone, ID, and anything else that she might need. She then checked her watch to make sure what time it was. It was 11:30 AM, just enough time to get some things and make sure she could get to the spaceport in enough time.
Shin reached her car and put on her jacket before getting in and putting the top down. Shin had finally gotten her dream car, a blue Mustang convertible. Before starting up the car and pulling out, Shin looked at her CD collection.
"Hum, a little Jewel. I'll save this one for after I pick up Kirin." Shin popped Jewel's `This Way' CD in the car's CD player, cranking up the volume, and driving off.
Shin stopped off at the nearest retail store and picked up a few things for the apartment. Just a few essential things; soap, shampoo, conditioner, another twin comforter, a couple pillows, pillow cases, and a couple of new movies that the two of them could watch later. Shin also decided to get some pop corn, a box of Pops cereal but then realized she should get two of the biggest boxes(1), and some ice-cream. Shin didn't know if she should get chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla so she got a gallon of each. Hey, she could afford it since most of her money was coming out of the organization.
----------------------------------------------
"HI!" A girl with long chocolate brown hair and blue eyes plopped down in the seat next to Kirin.
"Yume? How did you get here?"
"I followed you. Were planning on leaving without me?"
"No, I just didn't tell you I was leaving. I don't think this has anything to do with your part of the mission."
"Tracking Heero Yuy? It sure does!"
"How did you know I was tracking Heero? Never mind, I probably already know. How is me tracking Heero part of your mission description?"
"Okay, so it's not. But I just couldn't resists a chance to meet the infamous Heero Yuy."
"You're hopeless, you know that?"
"Yep."
----------------------------------------------
Shin's cell phone rang as she was heading back out the door.
"Hello?"
"Hey, I've got a stole away."
"Yume tagged along?"
"Yeah. You know her. Just can't resists a chance to meet Heero Yuy."
"Of course. I was just heading back out anyway. I'll be there shortly."
"Okay. We'll be waiting."
"See ya." Shin hung up her phone and got into her car. "Well, guess I can forget about putting this on when Kirin gets in the car." Shin said as she looked at a CD. "Oh, man, now I have to get more stuff for Yume. Damn it! I should have known she would have done something like this. I guess I'll get the stuff later. I've got to get a good action movie with lots of explosions in it now, too. Ooh, I know just the movie." Shin grinned evilly to herself.
Shin got back into her car and drove off once more, this time in the direction of the spaceport. When she came upon the first red light, Shin stopped. A few seconds later, a black car, similar to her own, pulled up beside her.
"Hey, there cutie. Would you like to go out on a date with me?" Came a man's voice.
"I'm sorry, but I'm…" Shin was cut off when she looked over to see the man. "Duo?"
"Hey! You're what?"
"I was going to say that I'm taken. I thought that you might have been just some random guy trying to pick up on some random girl."
"What if I am?"
"Well, are you?"
"Sometimes. And what do you mean you're taken? By whom?"
"By you of course." Her tone was censer. "Where you headed?"
"I'm off to see Quatre. You?"
"Oh, I'm off to pick up some old friends at the spaceport. Then I have to pick up a few things for them."
"Cool, when can I meet your friends?"
"Well, I'll ask them if they would like to meet you. Then I'll call you and let you know." Shin smiled. `Kirin is gonna kill me.'
"Sounds good." Duo said. "Well, the light's green. See ya!"
"Bye!"
Duo and Shin took off in their own directions.
----------------------------------------------
Kirin and Yume arrived right on schedule. They went through security and then to the front doors.
"Looking for a ride, you two?"
Kirin turned to see a brown hair girl clad in blue.
"I didn't think you'd be here already."
"Well, I am. The car is in the parking lot."
Kirin, Shin, and Yume all went out to the parking lot and got into Shin's car.
"I see you got your favorite car." Kirin said.
"Yeah. Too bad I've got to give it back when we leave." Shin said.
The three girls sat in the car and left the spaceport.
"I've got to back to the store and get some more things now that Yume's here too. I've already gotten some things for you, Kirin."
"That's fine." Kirin said.
TBC…
1. Whenever the real Kirin, (no real names), would come over to my, (I'm also Shin, btw), house, she would always eat my Pops right out of the box and then I'd be all out of my favorite cereal. We also made a joke about Duo and Pops cereal, but that's another story. LOL
