DON'T OWN IT!!!

Three months later another war was waged between the Colonies and the Earth. Earth accused the Colonies of killing Relena Peacecraft, and the Colonies, in turn, accused the Earth of trying to put the blame on them. 'Carmen' somehow felt guilty, but firmly told herself that the people needed to take care this one themselves.
She walked into the restaurant where she worked and smiled at her newfound friend- a girl called Summer. She walked over to her.
"What's up?" Relena asked.
"Not much," Summer replied. "I already clocked you in... figured you be late." Summer grinned.
"You figured right," Relena laughed, the feeling of guilt growing stronger by the minute.
'With hostilities at their maximum since the death of Vice Foreign Minister Darlian, citizens are encouraged to employ a large amount of caution as to what they say. Since the body of Relena Darlian-Peacecraft has never been found, many believe her to be alive, but perhaps in a poor mental state. Citizens need to keep their eyes open for this girl.' the television flashed her picture in front of her face. 'She may very well be the only person who can bring order back to the...'
"Ahhh!!" Relena screamed, throwing her bottle of water into the television set. "Oh my God! I'm so sorry... I can pay for that... I have to go. Clock me out... I need to think."
Relena rushed out of the restaurant and away from the stares. She ran across the street, narrowly avoiding the New York traffic, and towards Central Park. Reaching her destination, she sat down on a bench. She leaned forward, placing her forehead on her hands.
'I don't want to go back to my old life... I can finally be myself, I'm finally normal. But I have a responsibility, don't I? No! They can't always rely on other people to solve their problems... but still.' Relena groaned in frustration.

"We've got a lead, boys." Lucrezia Noin chimed over the portable communicator. "A man reported seeing a girl who looked identical to Relena in a local diner near you. It's called Cafe du Plume. Hurry you guys. We need her back."
"Understood," Heero replied in his usual monotone. "We're on it."
"Man are we glad you came back," Duo huffed as they ran toward the diner. "We'd never have gotten this far on our own."
"Yeah. Right." Heero grinned.
They entered the diner and skidded to a halt. There was a young girl with bright blonde hair and huge green eyes sweeping up broken glass from a broken television set in the corner. They approached her, trying not to act intimidating- which for three out the five is impossible. They decided to send Quatre to talk to her.
"Um, excuse me, miss?" Quatre said politely.
"Yes?" she replied in an almost sing-song voice.
Quatre held up the photo the man had sent them- the photo that was supposed to be Relena. "Have yo seen this girl lately?"
"Yeah! She works here... but why?" her eyes widened, noticing the other four men. "Is she in some kind of trouble?"
"Oh no! Not at all, but we think she might be in danger. Do you know where she is now?" Quatre smiled soothingly.
"Not for sure, but she's probably in Central Park. She always goes there when she needs to think." Summer watched them speed away, feeling as though she had just condemned her friend to a fate worse than death.

Relena was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice the familiar voiced until they were right on top of her. She looked up just as the Prussian eyes darted toward her. They were only two feet away from her and her feet had just glued themselves to the sidewalk. He said something to the others and they, too, looked over at her still frozen form. Quatre was the first to move. He ran directly towards her, followed by Duo. Wufei and Trowa strolled casually toward the bench, and Heero merely stood there. Their eyes never left each others faces. Even as Quatre and Duo hugged her mercilessly, she kept her gaze locked with Heero's.
"NO!" she yelled, startling them into silence. "It wasn't supposed to happen like this! You weren't supposed to find me! I'm happy here! I'm happy being Carmen!"
"But Relena, what about us?" Duo said, a hurt look in his eyes, "What about your brother, and Noin and everybody else who loves you? What about the people who counted on you to guide them into peace?"
"What about Heero?" Quatre whispered into her ear.
She looked once more at the still unmoved Wing Zero pilot, and tears sprung into her eyes. She stood and looked down at Quatre and Duo, then up at the others.
"I'm sorry, but you have to leave me alone. I'll cause you trouble. If I return to my life as Relena Darlian-Peacecraft I'll be assassinated, or worse, somebody I love will die trying to protect me. You don't need to feel any false duty toward me, I'm only one person. What good can I do?" Relena looked once more at Heero before she turned and ran.
A bell went off in Heero's head as his legs sprang back to life. He took off after her, top speed. 'I won't let her get away again.' he thought, 'It was my fault to begin with, for leaving her, and it is my burden to bear... she should not feel any guilt.'
He rounded a corner and passed an alley. He saw a flash of blonde hair enter the building next to the alley and sped after her.
Relena watched Heero enter the building. She sighed and leaned against the wall. And then a hand covered her mouth. She struggled against her assailants, but to no avail. They pulled her farther into the deserted alley. She bit the cold hand that covered her mouth, causing the man to curse. She screamed just before a fist collided with the side of her head and sent her swirling into darkness...
