Part one: The Alliance

Episode two: Goddesses of Death. Assassins Vs. Assassins

Quatre's eyes widened as Tien-lei drew her weapon. He stood up quickly, knocking his chair over and drawing his own gun. Tien-Lei on the other hand, stood slowly, obviously having control over the situation. It was then he realized that she wasn't aiming at him. Turning, Quatre noticed a young man standing there; he was holding a gun but shaking so hard, he couldn't aim straight. "Pathetic," he heard Tien-Lei mutter.

"I'm sorry sir but she's a demon!" The boy said, still shaking.

"A demon?" Quatre queried, slightly amused; his smiles faded however as he heard Tien-Lei's gun cock behind him; he held up his hand to stop her.

"We did a background check on Tien-Lei Chang when she entered." He shuddered, "Turns out that Tien-Lei Chang has been dead four years!"

Quatre turned to his guest in shock, "Is this true?"

Tien-Lei laughed, "Yes I'm really a ghost come to haunt nice gentlemen such as yourself!" Tien-lei broke off laughing; only when she had control over herself, "I'm keeping hidden from my brother… he wants to kill me for running away years ago. To do that, I had to delete all trace of myself, including my profile."

"So what you're saying is that you're in hiding and not dead?" Quatre queried.

"Yes, but your little friend will be dead unless he lowers that gun!"

"Demon!"

"My name means `Heaven's lightning.' How could anyone with that name be a demon?!" Tien-Lei's eyes hardened like gems as she glared at the boy.

"Brian, put the weapon down."

"No Sir! I won't!"

"Brian! That's an order!"

Brian reluctantly lowered his weapon and walked out of the room, acting like a retreating dog with his tail between his legs. Tien-Lei sighed, "Now where were we?"

"Hikaru are you awake?" Saria's voice broke through Hikaru's daydreaming, and she turned to scowl at her.

"What do you think?"

"Yes… Anyway look at this!" Saria said pointing to the monitor showing the battle between Zechs and the Gundam pilot who could only be her brother Odin. What she saw held no surprise for her any only a little for Saria; Zechs had forced Wing Gundam out of its bird mode and now they were fighting with beam sabers.

"Is it really that surprising?"

"No, but it's still interesting!"

"Whatever."

"Oh Hikaru I thought only I was that pessimistic!"

"Well you thought wrong."

"Obviously… Have you met Ririna Dorlin?"

"No, but I heard she's a real prick."

"She is! Goddess Above! I had to sit next to her on that shuttle and she insisted I call her by her surname and always say `Miss Dorlin'! If I had stayed there any longer something terrible would've happened to that girl!"

"Would that be such a shame?"

"Nope."

"Then we should have left you there!" Hikaru bit back a scream as Saria tackled and tickled her.

Sakura grumbled angrily as she drove her cousin and her guest back to headquarters. Wufei had been was rude since he got out of his stupid Gundam. The two boys had first had to drop off they're Gundams in the lake and Wufei was still not believing that she was the unit leader of 06. This angered her more than anything else because it meant he had no respect for her. She was startled when Duo put a hand on her shoulder, "Hey Cuz, don't worry about it! He's just a jerk! Don't waste your energy on him!"

"Yah I guess you're right."

"Hey! Onna I could care less what you think of me!"

"Shut up back there!"

"Why should I?!"

"Because I said so!"

"Yah Jerk! She's being very hospitable and you're being rude!"

"She's just an Onna! Why should I care what she thinks?!"

Sakura stopped the jeep and hopped out, "Get out."

"Why should I?!"

Sakura grabbed a fistful of Wufei's shirt pulling his face close to hers, "Get. Out."

Kirabi smashed her fists against the glass controls of her cockpit causing the glass to shatter and cut her hands. She put her head in her bleeding hands and bit back a cry of frustration, "How the hell could I have lost?!"

"Lt. Colonel Winner, Please respond."

Kirabi groaned and switched on the Comm. System, "Winner here."

"Are you alright Ma'am?"

"What do you think?!"

"I suppose not… I'll have the carrier pick up your suit immediately. Shall we pick you up now?"

"Sure, why not… I need to talk to Lt. Colonel Barton as soon as possible."

"Understood Ma'am. Come on out."

Kirabi climbed out of her Gundam and stood waiting for the helicopter to swoop down and pick her up. She noticed something glint in the distance and turned her head towards it. She saw the Gundam she had been fighting moments earlier staring at her with something on its arm. She removed her binoculars from her belt and looked through them. Adjusting the magnification, she faced -from a distance- a young man with darkened skin and medium brown hair. They stared at one another for a moment before the boy suddenly pointed to the sky behind her. She turned and looked up. Her helicopter was hovering above her, lowering a Ladder for her. She smiled but then she saw the Leo aim its cannon at the chopper. Knowing the chopper would be destroyed she dropped to the desert sand and covered her skull and neck with her hands.

Saria watched as Zechs and his crew (including Hikaru) sank into the ocean's depths on board their submarine. She sighed and walked down to the beach. She removed her boots then rolled up her pant legs, and waded down into the surf. She smiled, watching the sunset a moment till she noticed a human like form sprawled out on the beach several meters away. She frowned and walked over to it, turning it over and removing the helmet she saw that it was a boy around her age. This made her frown deepen as she checked his pulse, no one around her age was in the military except for herself and her friends. Saria removed her fingers from his neck pulled out her gun; she did not like this, not one bit.

As if on cue the boy opened his eyes, they were a cold heartless Prussian blue, and he stared groggily up at her for a second. "Tenshi…" He grumbled then regained control of his senses. He jumped to his feet grabbing her gun from her hand and pointed it at her.

"Stop!"

Saria turned her head and saw Ririna running down the stone steps and onto the beach. She growled and stood from her kneeling position on the sand, "Get out of her Miss Dorlin." She snarled bringing Ririna's and the boy's attention solely on her.

The boy looked at her in scrutiny, "You're a member of OZ," It was a statement, not a question.

Saria nodded, "Yes, got a problem with that?"

He looked at her with no emotion visible on his face, "I have orders to destroy OZ," He started to pull back the trigger, but stopped when he heard sirens approaching. He glared at them both and dashed up the beach to the stone steps, racing up them, he kicked at the doctors who where racing to help them, causing them to fly off the stairwell and fall in to the sand head first. Saria winced as she heard their necks crack, and knew with a sinking feeling that they were dead.

Ririna ran up the steps, ignoring the dead sprawled around her. Saria sighed and followed her knowing she could do nothing for the people here. Ririna was watching the ambulance speed away in the distance, her hand out stretched towards it.

Saria scowled watching the idiot girl a moment before looking at the wreckage the bastard had left behind. She looked at all the glass sighing on the road and jumped as she felt a hand close on her shoulder, "Ma'am, Are you all right?"

Saria turned facing the unfortunate driver of the stolen ambulance, "Yes, I'm quite fine…" She looked at him seeing that his arm was bleeding and that he was leaning heavily on his left leg, but other than that he was quite handsome with blonde/brown hair and hazel eyes, "How are you though?"

He shrugged, "It's nothing really, just a flesh wound…"

Saria raise her fine black eyebrows in obvious doubt, "Are you sure? How `bout I take you to the base to have that looked at?"

He smiled broadly, and Saria felt heat rising into her cheeks, "I would gladly be accompanied by such a lovely creature as yourself."

Blushing, Saria returned the smile, "All right then… Here you can lean on me." She placed his long arm over her small shoulders.

He laughed, "I don't think it's much help… you're too small!"

Saria sighed; she hated the fact that she was so short, and the fact that everyone told her so. Her attraction for him gone she merely gave him a sardonic smile and helped him hobble to the Oz base.

Trowa quickly hopped into Heavy-Arms and quickly moved his bangs out of his face only to have them fall back in place. He gave up, realizing there were more important things at hand. Powering up his Gundam, he quickly moved it over to the girl and shielded her from the blast, with the hand of his Gundam.

He watched the girl scurry away from his hand and ducked into her Gundam quickly activating it she stood it up beside him, "I should have one more missile left… damn those alliance bastards… they're always interfering…"

Trowa sighed listening to her voice then shook his head, "Take the shot girl…"

"Don't call me girl! I am Lt. Colonel Kirabi Winner! Address me properly!"

Trowa opened his mouth just about to yell at her to take the damn shot when suddenly a missile shot from her shoulder missile launchers and sped towards the Leo destroying it, "Not bad girl…" He waited patiently for her response but heard nothing, "Girl?…Girl?!" He started to panic ever so slighter and gripped his controls tighter, "Winner?!"

"… I guess… that's the best response I can get from you isn't it?" Came her voice through the speaker and Trowa inwardly sighed with relief.

"Dammit girl, don't do that…"

The voice on the other side laughed, loudly, "Why you being so stoic? Afraid?"

He growled, inwardly, "Emotions get you killed on the battle field so it's better to forget them…"

Kirabi only giggled this time, "Whatever you say…" Her Gundam slowly turned towards the west, where the sun was lowering itself into the horizon taking with it the precious light, "Come with me… I have a private base not far from here…"

"Now, why would I want to go to my enemy's base?" Trowa queried barely hiding his anger at what had to be a trap.

"Simple really, your Gundam is badly damaged and so is mine, neither of us will get very far if we go our separate ways, so I say we call a temporary truce till our Gundams are repaired." There was a definite hint of sarcasm in her voice, as though she was patronizing him, which angered him even more, but he sighed letting his head fall back in defeat.

"Alright… Lead the way Winner…"

Trowa was positive that she was patronizing him, "Right away Sir!" He glared at the Gundam ahead of him as it began to walk across the sand, and Trowa, while muttering curses, followed her.

Wufei's black eyes narrowed dangerously as he placed his hand over Sakura's clenched fist, removing its grip from his shirt. He hopped out of the jeep beside her and moved his head just in time to dodge her fist as it flew towards his face, "You want a fight Onna?" He smirked, removing his outer jacket and revealing his well muscled body, not at all hidden by his navy tank top. Sakura nodded her chocolate brown eyes hardening as she glared at him; he frowned ever so slightly, the look didn't suit her. He moved a few paces and beckoned to her with his hand, his smirk back in place, "Then come and get one…"

Sakura launched at him, He watched as at the last second, she spun launching into a roundhouse kick aimed at his chest. He grinned maliciously, grabbing her foot and twisting it, causing her to spin in mid-air and land on her hands, "Not bad Onna, but not good enough to…" He had to stop mid-sentence, because Sakura's other foot shot up and landed an extremely hard kick to the hand holding her foot. Wufei yelped in pain as he felt the bones crack from the force of impact, and he immediately dropped Sakura and clutched his hand, wincing.

* * *

Sakura landed flat on her head and heard a few joints pop in her spine. Wincing she stood up and turned to Wufei; it was easy to tell why he had dropped her so mercilessly, "G-Gomen…" Sakura stepped forward and gently took his broken hand hers. She inhaled sharply through her teeth watching it turn purple as it bruised. "Duo! You drive us back… I'll ride in back and see what I can do for him… Either way, we have regenerators back at the base…"

"I don't need your help Onna!" Sakura looked up at him in surprise; His eyes black eyes locked with her own, and she felt her breathing become erratic. His emotions were very clear to her, he was ashamed for letting his guard down, and his pride wasn't letting him forget that she was pitying him, but there was something else, his eyes blazed with an emotion she couldn't read, but her body understood it nonetheless. Her eyes slowly closed of their own accord, and she felt Wufei's erratic breath on her lips; she tilted her face up to meet his and…

"Are you coming or not?!" Sakura pulled away like a frightened deer and turned to her cousin.

Damn him! She thought maliciously as she felt the moment dissolve and Wufei returned to his cold, haughty state of mind. "Yah… We're coming…" she muttered and walked with Wufei back to the Jeep.

"Where do you live?"

Tien-lei looked up at Quatre, surprised. Why was he so kind to her? He hardly knew her, yet here he was acting like they were old friends catching up on their lost lives together. She had never opened up to anyone like she had him, and she liked this feeling. She grabbed her coat and gave him a small smile, "Just a few blocks from here, not far."

He returned the smile, and his eyes lit up illuminating his face and making her knees go weak, "I'll walk you there… I-if that's all right with you I mean…"

Tien-Lei groaned softly as his eyes pleaded with her; she just couldn't seem to resist his beautiful green-blue eyes, "Of course you may" she said and actually found herself smiling as Quatre's boyish face lit up in absolute joy. He quickly offered her his arm, and she hesitantly took it; he smiled down at her and began escorting her down the streets.

For the most part the walk was made in comfortable silence, neither wanting to disrupt the other by asking stupid questions, or making the other feel uncomfortable with dull chatter. Tien-Lei was extremely grateful for that; she didn't want to talk, because she felt that she might let it slip why she was really here, might let it slip that she really worked for Oz, and was against everything he stood for; she had a feeling that a part of her would die if he disapproved of her… about anything. Tien-Lei frowned slightly; she was confused, and disappointed as she realized that the walk was ending, "That's the apartment building right there," she sadly pointed to the building and, Quatre nodded, sliding his arm away.

Tien-Lei panicked for a second, afraid he was going to leave her, but he only wrapped his arm around her shoulder in an almost possessive way, "Shall I walk you to your door?" He asked gently; his smile made her legs turn to jelly, and she found herself leaning against him, nodding her head.

Quatre's arm tightened around her shoulders, and Tien-Lei enjoyed the warmth, turning her face into his shoulder as he walked her into the building. "Up the elevator and to the right…" She murmured into his shoulder as he strode with her into the elevator. Tien-Lei absentmindedly pushed the button for her floor and turned fully into his arms, burying her face into his chest and slipping her arms about his waist.

If Quatre was surprised by her actions, he didn't show it as his wrapped around her body, pulling her closer, "T-Tien-Lei… I…" She put a finger to his lips.

"No words are needed here Quatre." Tien-Lei whispered sliding her hand from his lips to his cheek, gently caressing it with her thumb. Warm fingers cupped her face, tipping her chin up and forcing her to look into his beautiful eyes. Tien-Lei suppressed a shiver Not now! Her mind screamed hopelessly as she felt a panic attack coming on. It was all going so well, but her fear of being close to a man was overwhelming her. She stared into his eyes trying to find some cruelty in him, some evil that she should fear. To her relief, she found none and subconsciously began to relax again. She slowly began to close her eyes, watching his face slowly close in on hers, his breath becoming erratic, and she was surprised as she found herself unable to breathe at all; she was completely breathless as his mouth descended onto her. His lips just barely brushed against hers, when the elevator rang its bell, signaling that it had reached her floor.

The doors to the elevator pulled apart and so did they, both in disbelief as to what had almost happened. They walked down the hall in an awkward silence until they reached her apartment at the end of the hall. Tien-Lei pulled out her keys and was about to unlock her door, when Quatre's hand closed over hers.

Wordlessly, Quatre pulled Tien-Lei into his arms and cupped her face in his hand, bringing her lips to his and kissing her sweetly. She gently returned his kiss before pulling away. "Good-bye Quatre…" Tien-Lei didn't give him the chance to respond as she unlocked her door and stepped inside, shutting it behind her. She went straight to her bathroom, shedding her clothes along the way; Trieze would be pleased with her report, but in the meantime, she had to cleanse herself of Quatre's overwhelming male scent.

"Quiet down class!" He watched with disapproving eyes as all the students walked to their seats in the huge auditorium that served as a classroom, "Today we have a new…" The Nun, that was their teacher, stopped mid-sentence as the side door burst open, revealing a young man being escorted into the classroom by a nun. He did a double take and upon seeing the curves that were visible beneath the boy's uniform that it was a girl. The Nun beside him sneered at the girl as she approached, staring back at the Nun defiantly. "Well Miss Barton, you have interrupted my class once again, what excuse do you bring?"

The other Nun cleared her throat, obviously defending the girl, "I am the one who offers her excuse. She was locked into a broom closet by some boys. She has already named the boys, and they will be punished."

The boy looked at the girl closely and narrowed his eyes; it was the Oz soldier from the beach. He carefully looked at her from head to toe, memorizing her every feature. She was small, no higher than five feet, pale skin with brilliant green eyes and European black hair tied back in a loose ponytail with shorter locks falling down the side of her face. Her face itself was heart shaped with a stubborn chin and slender nose, her mouth was full and pouty, colored a light cherry blossom pink. Though she was wearing a boy's uniform, her curves were still quite distinctive and actually showed them better than if she was wearing a girl's uniform. All in all a very pretty soldier, but a soldier nonetheless.

The teacher Nun sighed, "Very well… Please remain at the front a moment Saria; you may escort our new student to his seat, after he introduces himself." The girl, Saria was her name, looked at him and her eyes widened; it was obvious that she had not noticed him before and was very surprised by his presence. "Well, as I was saying, we have a new student today…"

The boy stepped forward, aware of Saria's eyes on him, "Hiiro Yui, it's a pleasure," He said coolly, and everyone knew that it was truly not a pleasure, but more likely a torture session. The Nun nodded her approval and instructed Saria on where his seat would be. Hiiro watched her nod solemnly and walk over to him; her eyes held a certain morbid fascination as she quickly looked him over head to toe appraisingly, and Hiiro found that he liked having her eyes on him. His eyes sought out hers and caught them; he held her gaze, searching her eyes for any of fear. To his surprise, they held none and then abruptly, it was his eyes that were captured by her gaze. He felt her scrutiny as she probed his eyes, and then she pulled away beckoning to him with her hand she began walking up the auditorium steps towards the farther back areas. Behind him, Hiiro heard the Nun begin her lesson and ignored her; he had learned these lessons before after all.

Ahead of him, Saria continued her trek up the stairs, holding her head proudly, not caring what the others thought of her. One boy, in an aisle seat, reached up and grabbed her upper arm firmly, stopping her progress. He sneered up at her, his pale face twisted in disgust, "You went to far Barton; we'll have detention for a month for this!" He whispered fiercely to her, the grip on his arm tightening.

Saria sneered back, but Hiiro thought it didn't ruin her face in the least, "Then you never should've locked me in that closet you slimy son-of-a-bitch. If you have a problem with what I've done then fight me about it. Fairly!" She whispered back, just as fiercely. Hiiro watched, in amazement, as all the color left the boy's face, and he released her, saying no more. Saria smirked, "Make that a slimly, cowardly, son-of-a-bitch." Saria then moved away, continuing her trek to her seat.

She reached it and gestured to one beside her, indicating that the seat was his; he sat down in it and was about to close his eyes when he noticed Saria move forward. He fully opened his eyes, watching as Saria reached out to another girl and viciously tugged at one of the small braids hanging from her head. The girl yelped loudly and heads turned to her. The Nun, who had been teaching, looked up at her, "Something wrong Miss Ririna?"

If she the girl was going to tell on Saria, she changed her mind as Saria placed her hand against the back of the girl's neck; her thumb resting firmly at the joint where the spinal cord joined with the brain. "Say anything, and I'll kill you…" Saria threatened quietly, her face passive, but her voice was full of barely restrained anger.

The girl gulped nervously, "No Ma'am, I just caught my hair on the chair… I'm sorry for interrupting you lesson…" The Nun nodded and returned to her lesson, and the girl turned, glaring at Saria, "What did you do that for?!" She whispered harshly blue-green eyes narrowing in hatred, her face contorting in an ugly mask. Hiiro frowned, this girl was the other one from the beach, she was an aristocrat and a snob, and she obviously did not like Saria. Hiiro found himself not liking the girl very much; she reminded him of a show dog, good for show but not much else.

Saria smirked at the girl, "Come now Ririna, we both know who asked those boys to lock me up, and I just wanted you let you know. Watch your back, because I'm going to get you." Hiiro focused in on Saria, she was beautiful in his mind and he almost regretted that fact that she had to die, almost. Hiiro closed his eyes then, not paying attention to the rest of the lesson.

* * *

Saria walked onto the lower grounds, a book in hand. Finding a nice shady tree, she plopped down beside it and opened her book, reading a few pages. "Helena…" She whined softly, obviously not finding the heroine's actions satisfactory. Saria snapped the book shut with a sigh; she couldn't seem to concentrate on her favorite author's writings, because every time she even blinked; she saw his face. Saria couldn't even begin to figure out why her every waking thought seemed to be devoted to analyzing his face or his Prussian blue eyes. All she knew was that he was driving her crazy, and that she liked it.

Saria frowned, she suddenly had the feeling that she was being watched, and upon looking at the upper balcony; her eyes were caught by his. Saria felt her pulse quicken, and her breath came in ragged gasps; desperate, Saria tried to look away, but his eyes held hers firmly, and she forced himself to return his gaze. Her heart constricted as the corner of his mouth twitched slightly as though he were about to smile.

They continued staring at each other like that for a moment longer before a third party appeared. It was Ririna, and in her hand was a white envelope; Saria glared at the girl as she spoke Hiiro's name, catching his attention. Saria watched in barely concealed rage as Ririna said a few more words then handed him the envelope. Saria's fists clenched, nails digging in to the fleshy part of her palm, but they relaxed when Hiiro tore up the invitation, making tears come to Ririna's eyes. He whispered something in her ear that made her eyes widen in fear, then walked to the steps to the lower grounds, heading her way. Saria pretended not to notice, opening her book and staring fixatedly at it. "Saria…" She heard him call out and waited a moment before raising her head to meet his gaze, her green eyes clashing with his Prussian blue ones.

She shook her head to clear it, "Yes Hiiro?" She did her best to not meet his gaze, afraid of being sucked in by his cold gaze.

"Let's go for a walk shall we?" He said, almost commanding her. Saria nodded dumbly and accepted his proffered hand, allowing her to help her to her feet. A part of her knew what was coming, but the naive girl locked inside her heart told her that he wouldn't hurt her, would not kill her even though he was sworn to destroy all she stood for, and for some inexplicable, almost insane reason; she believed that naïve little girl, and she followed him.
