Chapter 2: Quatre's Thoughts
Weeks went by after the day I showed my true feelings to Trowa. He still seems distant, in his own world mayhaps. At times, I wish I knew what he was thinking, so I could help him in anyway possible. Oh Trowa, how I wish I could understand you better.....to know you, behind the clown mask.
One day, we were given a mission to attack an OZ military base it space. As usual, Duo and Heero bounded off to their Gundams to get ahead of the slower pilots, Trowa and I decided we needed a plan to start off with. WuFei (boy, is he stubborn...) attend the mission only out of self pity for us, saying we were weak and needed his help ( ;). As I climbed up into Sandrock, I noticed Trowa was checking the fuel on HeavyArms, as if it didn't have enough.
"Trowa-san...is there enough fuel?" I called out to him.
"Don't worry, Quatre, there should be" he replied with a slight smile.
I nodded, hoping he didn't lie to me. We set out to the base, attacked at both sides by Mobile Dolls. Every now and then, I would check on Trowa's progress and status. Duo and Heero had gotten into the base and completed the mission. The base was set to explode in one minute, and Trowa was still in the base, unaware of the bomb that was set. I continuously tried to get a signal to him, but to my dismay Trowa was not answering. I was set in a panic as the clock counted down the last precious seconds.
"5........4........3........2.........1.........." the base was engulfed in flames. I felt as if my heart was ready to burst. My breath was in short pants and sorrowful tears poured from my eyes.
"TROWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
