Life Is Pain: What hurts?
Well, this is part three. No idea as to how long this will be, but I'll warn you--Relena-fans need to leave now. (Actually, they should have left a while ago, but hey, it's gonna get worse before it gets better.) I don't own them. I have nothing worth suing for. This is just something I thought would be cool.
AU, OOC, OC, YAOI, 1x2, 2+5, 3x4, (in their dreams: 1xR, 2xH) mention of 5xM (Meiran, you dolts!!), Magic, mayhem, Relena and Hilde-bashing. I only own my five, when they get around to claiming me...^.^;; SO, let's get on with it!!

Wufei sat back on his bed. *I knew I shouldn't have told Maxwell,* he thought, clenching his hand into a fist. *I knew it but I still had to do something--I couldn't let him draw in like that,* he frowned and punched his pillow. Not very satisfying when it came to releasing anger and pain, but it would have to do.
"At least it's a pillow this time," a husky voice said from the doorway. "Instead of my face."
Wufei sighed. "Anyone but you. The last thing I need is a damned onna ghost haunting me right now." He leaned back, lying down and draped his arm over his eyes. "Go away, before I find a priest to exorcise you," he muttered.
Flaming Eagle sighed. "You brought it on yourself, you know. It's Meiran's fault for making us get along. Now, I can't even insult you without *her* coming to bother me." Her jet eyes danced while her face was neutral. Her long black hair was tied back in a tail, highlighting her delicate bone structure.
Wufei propped himself up on the bed. "How dare you say her name! *YOU* were the reason we fought that night!"
Flaming Eagle put her hands on her hips and looked at him. "Shove it, Justice-boy. You know as well as I do that the reason you two fought was because you two were too alike." She rolled her eyes. "It's a good thing you never met me when I was really alive--then you would have been in trouble."
Wufei nodded. "Yeah, then I could have beaten you without having to resort to ungentlemanly tactics." He muttered, his own black eyes glaring at her. "Why the hell are you here, anyway? I thought your soul was damned back to hell where it belonged."
Flame laughed. "You think that some amateur witch with half a mind could exorcise me? I didn't know you thought so little of me, Wuffie-kins." She stretched and crossed her arms behind her head. "I lost my energy focus when she went for the neck. I vanished. Poof!"
Wufei growled at her nickname for him. "Then why have you come back, anyway, Flaming-chicken?"
Flame lowered her arms. "Low blow, Justice-boy. We have a job left unfinished. Sköll won't let us go back to eternal sleep until we finish it--or get destroyed in the process."
Wufei snorted. "Bitch. Think of how nice the world would be if you five demons simply left it alone?"
Flame ignored the comment. :You'd think that he'd forgive me after five years, but nooo. *I* didn't make her choose between him and me. *I* didn't try to call a priest to exorcise me even after I was in bodily form. But, I promised her that I'd look after the little jerk. I'm too damn nice.: She sighed and stuck her hands in her pockets. :Good thing I found some jeans--those skirts that Ierne and Chen like are too short for me.: "I came to check on you--thought you might like some company until dinner."
Wufei looked at her in surprise. "Really?" his voice faltered for a second before he regained his composure. "Stay if you want."
Flame sighed, and inwardly smiled. She'd won part of that battle. "Good. You can entertain me, then." She said, a malicious grin on her face.
Wufei shook his head. "Nothing doing, demon-breath."
Flame settled herself onto the chair where Duo had sat and smiled. :This is gonna be *fun*,: she thought, closing her eyes.
~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~
Duo stared at the little woman sitting beside him. "I'm sorry, I must have drifted off--you seem very familiar--"
She nodded. "Like you can't fit the name to the face?" her sweet soprano voice seemed to ring in his head as well as his ears.
Duo nodded. "Who are you?" his amethystine eyes widened as he watched her.
She shrugged. "Someone who's been watching you for a while."
His eyes narrowed. "For how long?" he asked, suspicious suddenly of the angelic-seeming exterior.
She grinned. "Longer than you'd believe." She held her hand out. "Call me Ierne."
He took her hand hesitatingly. "Duo-"
She shook her head. "I know you, remember?" she grinned at him and suddenly, he felt his pain draining away, like snow in sunlight. "Eye-urn. Say it."
Duo nodded. "Ierne," he said, pleased that he had gotten it right.
Her grey eyes sparkled. "You know he loves you, right?" she asked, tilting her head. The move backfired and her auburn curls wound up in her face.
Duo jerked back. "What do you know about it?"
Ierne smiled, albeit sadly. "More than you'd think. He loves you. He just doesn't know how to handle Relena."
Duo frowned. "No shit sherlock."
Ierne frowned with distaste, but let her face go back to a half-smile. "You can say that again."

Chen looked at Heero carefully. "You still think I'm not real, don't you." Her green-fire eyes held his gaze.
Heero nodded. "If you were real, then you wouldn't be able to disappear like you've done." His own cobalt eyes narrowed in the face of such inherent power, as if two predators recognized each other and were testing each other.
Chen gestured for him to sit down beside her. "Chen-xia. Between us, just Chen." As he started to speak, she put a finger over his lips. "I know who you are. Introductions aren't really necessary between us."
Heero pulled back from her touch, more surprised than scared. "'Chen'? Is this some kind of sick joke?" he asked finally, anger building. "The Chen I know was a woman back when I was a child!"
Chen raised an eyebrow. :Interesting. He *does* remember me, then. Well, that both complicates and simplifies things.: "I never claimed to be the woman you remember. All I claimed was that we know each other." Her almond eyes narrowed as she scanned his face. "Truce? Until you're sure you can trust me?"
Heero nodded silently. *She's not human. She's not Chen-sama either. So who the hell is she?*

Akabri looked at Quatre as he played. :Remarkable. Quite remarkable. I can see why he's in love with the solitary one. Like life and death, these two are a perfect duality.:
Quatre finally lowered the bow. "Akabri, what aren't you telling me?" he asked, setting down the violin.
Akabri smiled. "That is for a later time. When all have assembled." Her teeth shone in the smile, contrasting greatly with the darkness of her skin.
Quatre looked at her. *I can feel her power--but what is it tied to? She's tightly shielded against emotion-leakage, so I can't tell her state emotionally. She is definitely an enigma,* he thought, clasping his hands behind his back in a habitual gesture. "Would you care to have some refreshments?" he asked, a perfect host.
Akabri smiled again. This time, he could see the slight points her teeth made, reminding him of fangs. Vampire fangs. "Ah, little one, I would graciously accept, but I no longer need to eat." Her voice lilted when she spoke, making him think of the British boarding school many of his sisters attended. Then a pensive look came over her face. "On second thought, I will come and keep you company while you dine."

Trowa moved away from Sköll, trying not to shudder. "You should be dead. I saw Relena kill you." He said, relying on what had gotten him answers in the past.
She nodded. "Don't believe everything you see." She laughed humorlessly. "So, you gonna come out, or am I gonna have to come in there after you?"
Trowa stood up. "I'm going." He started to walk out the door when he felt her grab the back of his shirt.
"Not so fast." Sköll said, pulling him back. "You need to know something. If you're close with Relena, say goodbye. Soon."
Trowa frowned. "I've never been close to her. Why would I be?"
Sköll shrugged. "If you know anyone close to her, tell them." Her blonde hair framed her tanned face like a curtain of snowdrops by a cave.
"Why?" Trowa asked, not bothering to remove her grip on his shirt.
Sköll grinned. It was not a happy grin. It was a hungry grin. One of a were-wolf looking for blood. "Payback certainly is a bitch, ne?" she said, her voice nearly growling.
~~^~~^~~^~~^~~^~~
Mwa-ha-ha...I like Sköll...she's coooooool...
