The Phone

Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing, enough said.

Notes: people have told me I lack enough detail. I'm working on it, but it's really hard for me. Any help would be greatly be appreciated. I love it when you guys say how much you like the fic, but I would also love some constructive criticism. If it sucks, tell me why.

But, if your expecting me to tell you every little detail then you're fooling yourself. I'm adding some details but my style is going from point A to point B, and make the story unfold as quickly as possible, but I'll try 'smelling the roses' in my stories.

Iria turned the phone off and gave it a closer look. "This isn't my phone."

"Let me see that," Quatre said softly.

Iria handed Quatre the phone. After inspecting the blue and black phone, Quatre pale face got even whiter. "This is my phone…"

"Are you sure?" Duo asked.

"Yes, I'm very sure. See this," Quatre pointed at back of the phone, "I carved QRW in this when I was younger, this is my very first phone."

"Yes, I remember this." Iria said, "You were so excited when you got it and called as many people as you could. You were about… ten?"

"I felt so grown up, that's why put my initials in the phone."

"Have you kept it this long?" Wufie asked.

Quatre shook his head; "I lost it a long time ago…"

"Where did you loose it?" Duo asked.

"At the park. It was my eleventh birthday…"

"Can I keep the phone? Maybe it can help the investigation." Wufie said.

"Sure," Quatre said and his eyes dropped. Iria wrapped her arms around Quatre, who in turn gladly rested his head on her chest.

Iria noticed her brother's exhaustion, "Shoo! My brother needs rest."

The four Gundam Pilots left, not wanting to get Quatre's sister angry. Sister's and doctors no best, and from what Quatre's told them she forgets her pacifist ways where Quatre was concerned.

Three days later Quatre was released due to be released from the hospital. But there was a slight problem, he still needed to rest most of the day and everyone agreed that Quatre needed some that could watch over him.

Quatre was laying down on the bed, soft sheets and blankets covering him up. And small cord was attached to his wrist, which kept track of his pulse and blood pressure.

Heero was sitting next to the bed on a chair. He eyes were fixed on Quatre, as if he might die if Heero didn't keep constant watch on him.

Wufie had put the chair that was in the corner to the other side of Quatre's bed and Trowa and Duo were leaning on the wall.

"Honesty, I'll be okay." Quatre said weakly.

"Everyone would rest easier if someone was there just in case." Trowa said.

Quatre sighed and closed his eyes; he didn't have enough energy to argue. Besides, he would feel safer if someone was there with him. He nuzzled his head in the soft pillow and fell asleep.

"He should stay with one of us," Wufie said, rubbing his temples.

"Agreed," Heero said.

Duo and Trowa nodded.

"Trowa's out, he's always on the go with the circus," Duo said sensibly.

Trowa didn't look happy about it, but he agreed with Duo. "You're right but you better keep me posted though."

"He could stay with me," Wufie said as Duo began to pace.

"No," Duo said, "You work all the time. Plus you'll be on this case, and that's enough to worry about."

"That leaves Duo and Heero." Wufie said.

Duo shook his head; "Heero should do it. I'm not going to rest until I find out who did this to Quatre. Noin already said she could use my help."

"But what about Heero's job protecting Relina?" Wufie pointed out.

"I quit," Heero said, his eyes never leaving Quatre, "I'll watch Quatre."

"Why did you quit?" Wufie asked. "If someone is after Quatre, Relina could be a target as well. She needs to be protected."

"I quit for personal reasons," Heero said.

"As much as I hate to admit it," Duo said. He finally had stopped pacing and now he was standing at the foot of the bed. "Wufie is right. It's a strong possibility that Relina's a target, too."

"Perhaps Une could take her in, or maybe Noin," Trowa suggested, folding his arms.

"I'll talk to them," Wufie said, taking the rubber band out of his hair, letting it fall across his face.

"If all else fails, Relina can stay with me," Heero said, brushing some hair out of Quatre's face.

"I have to go call Catharine, I promised that I would tell her what happened." Trowa said, and walked out of the room and to a pay phone.

"Wufie and I should go," Duo said, "We're going to have to sleep as much as we can. Because, I have a feeling we might not get the chance for awhile."

Wufie nodded, and he and Duo left.
