Title: Memories of a Bloody Past
Genre: Violence, mistical stuff, demons, AU, language, angst, death (none of the pilot), I'll add more if anymore comes up
Summary: Duo is a nameless demon that was once a heartless murderer of the innocent. Heero is a warrior who is set on making the demon pay for his wicked ways. When he finally confronts the demon, he finds that he has lost his memory. Is this a trick or is something really amist.
Disclaimer: Nanashi is the name I got off a fic. It mean 'No name' or something like that. I want to give the idea to the writer being that that's where I got the idea. I can't remember your name, but you know who you are, hopefully. I don't own Gundam Wing..the plot bunny won't stop biting me. They're pink and rabied, ya know, so don't sue. All you will get is a handful of pocket lent.
Pairings: Haven't of any past 1x2, but I'll keep you updated on that situation.
Prologue
Violent were his eyes as he clenched his fist in barely controlled rage. I stared back at him, not quite apprehending my predicament. He spoke of acts I couldn't recall and cursed me in every language imaginable.
"You caused the death of coutless people yet you hold no memory of the horrors....."
He took in my confused look and his shoulders shook more. I feared that his nails would draw blood from the pressure of his clenching fingers. I reached out to console him and he shrank away.
"You....killed my family and laughed at their pain!"
My mouth opened to say something....anything in my defense. None came.
"What do you want from me?" I asked weakly.
His eyes brimmed with moisture and a single tear escaped his piercing auburn eyes. Unconsciously I held up a hand to wipe it away. His hand knocked my away violently. I held my abused limb to my chest.
"What do you want me to do?!" This time my voice was firm but barely able to keep from cracking.
"Compensation!" He spat. "I want you to be sorry! To feel their pain! Repent. damn it!"
I winced and pressed my back hard against the tree behind me. "How? HOw can I repent sincerely for things I can't remember?"
This time a tear fell from my eye. So much pain swirled between us all of a sudden. THis time I couldn't lighten the weight on my shoulders or the hatred in those endless eyes.
My eyes fell from his and a sob escaped me. I couldn't remember and he had yet to tell me my real name.
*flashback*
"Now that I have seen to have caught your attention, I can take revenge for what you have done."
Heero reeled his energy back and threw all he had into another blast. Again, the blast met with air as the lithe figure lept out of harm's way. Said target landed safely onto a thin tree branch. Blazing cobalt eyes watched skeptically as its target swayed on the branch from the soft summer breeze.
A feral grin formed over the heart shaped face as he eyed his assailant. Long chestnut hair trailed down his back in a tight plait that stopped just above his hips. His violet slitted eyes glinted with excitement at the youthful warrior. How amusing humans were when they had their heart set on something.
"Come down here, demon, and face me!" The lean warrior bellowed. He was fustrated with the demon's mockery. Evading his attacks was one thing, but the damned creature seemed to be toying with him. He mustered more energy and sent it toward the demon.
Nanashi lept higher than before and landed neatly out of arm's reach in front of the Japanese man. The grin plastured on his face never faltered as the man resorted to hand-to-hand combat. He dodged the blows easily, dancing in and out of the other's personal space.
"Treacherous. Vile. Condemened." Insults flew from the full lips of the attacking man between punches and kicks. The demon was still playing around. "Fight me!"
"Why?" Nanashi cocked his head to the side. For once, his grin faltered. As fun as it was to thuoroughly piss off the warrior, he didn't have any real desire to hurt him. He paused for a split second giving the man enough grounds to land a solid punch to his stomach.
Heero's fist buried deep into the creature's torso with a satisfying crack of bone. He back up two steps as the young demon doubled over gasping for breath. This was too easy.
"What kind of trick is this?"
"What...*cough*....are you talking....*gasp-cough*...about?" The slitted violet eyes looked up at the human with curiousity despite the pain in his mid section. "Why are we fighting anyways?"
One eyebrow rose inquisitively at the question. How dare he forget what he did to his clan! Before he knew it, he had landed a solid kick to the fallen figure's ribcage. The slighter body twisted in the air and landed a few feet away from the other.
"You know what wrongs you have committed! You destroyed my whole clan and countless others!"
Nanashi answered with a gargling cough. "I have? When?" He wasn't really damaged. His body could heal almost immediately, but it didn't mean it didn't hurt. He watched the furious deep blue eyes carefully. He wasn't going to let the human hit him again.
Heero saw the readiness in the other combatant's body. The black clad frame was tense and ready to fight now. This is how he wanted it. A battle to the death. One of them was going to die. He quickly unsheath his sword and back into a ready stance.
"Are you ready to fight now?"
"I do not see how and why fighting would bring you consoladation, but I will not contibute to any of it. Go play with someone else." Nanashi brushed is black leather pants irritatedly. His pants were dirty and his black tunic was in ruins. He eyed the black metal cufflings on his wrist quizzedly. Along with the black collar around his neck, he couldn't remember where either came from.
"We are far from 'playing'. This is a fight to the death." Heero tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword. Nanashi was acting strange even for him. As the brother of Shinigami, the demon shouldn't be on the recieving end of so many of his punches.
"Well, maybe I don't want to fight *you* to the death." The demon scratched at the metal around each of his small wrist and frowned. "What are these?" He had said it more to himself, but knew the warrior had heard the question.
"You should know. You've never been one to *not* know what you were wearing."
"I have?" The heart shaped face was inclined once again.
"Do not play games with me!"
"I'm not!"
Heero was taken aback. Nanashi never lost his composure, much less raise his voice. Something was definately wrong. "Tell me. What is your name?"
Confusion etched over the elven features. "My name?" Then the slitted eyes stared off in the distance. One slender hand was held tightly against the demon's head as if he was struck with something. "I do not know."
"Surely, you remember mine."
"I....I do not know." The demon was troubled and it showed. Another unusual sight. Nanashi was cold and unfeeling, calm and well-collected. The face fell slack and for a moment, Heero thought he was back to normal. Just as he was about to ready himself for the real battle the grin was back. His shoulders slumped. "I guess....I wasn't a great person, was I?"
"Iya."
"I would say I'm sorry, but I do not know what I have done to be sorry for."
*end of flashback*
tbc.......
Heh. ^_^; I wrote this a LONG time ago and just got it on Word. I don't know if I want to finish or scap it, but I like how I started it and it sounds good to me. Help me out and let me know. Let's say....if I get at least *counts on fingers* five reviews, I'll continue this. If not, I won't ya know how it goes.
