Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Memory of a Lost Soldier ❯ CHAPTER 4 ( Chapter 9 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Days passed. Adina had still not left her room. One day there was a knock at her door and Nataku walked in. She saw Adina sitting on her bed with her globe. She looked at her, knowing by the circles under her eyes that she had not slept well. Nataku shook her head.

"Adina, there will be a meeting this afternoon. It's very inportant so please be there."

"I'll be there," she said not looking up.

"Please get some rest. You'd want to get rid of those circles under your eyes."

"I'll rest."

"Good. See you then." She went out the door and closed it behind her.

Adina didn't think she would be able to sleep at all. She couldn't get him out of her mind. Him. Trowa's now only a him. She couldn't bear what was happening. She set her globe down and lied down in bed. She closed her eyes, and in a matter of time, managed to fall asleep.

When she woke she found Sagi, Nataku, Tila, and Nako standing beside her. She sat up and rubbed her eyes.

"I'm sorry," she said, "am I late for the meeting?"

"No, you're not late," said Sagi. "We're having the meeting here in your room."

"What?"

"Onto the meeting," said Nataku, "we've noticed your situation has been getting worse over the last few days."

"If this is about him I can explain!" Adina protested. Him. Once again she referred Trowa to only a him.

"Let me finish. All of us have come to a conclusion to solve your problem. Give me your globe."

"What?"

"Just do it," said Tila.

Not knowing what was going to happen, she gave Nataku her red globe. Nataku raised it up into the air and hurled it at the ground. The globe shattered into many pieces and a strong red light flashed. When it was gone, Adina looked at the broken pieces on the floor.

"What have you done?" she asked.

"We've set you free," said Nako. "You no longer have the responsibility of a guardian. You can go now and follow your dream."

"I'm...no longer a guardian? I have no power?"

"No," said Tila. "We knew this is what you wanted, and this was the best solution for you."

"Now you must go," said Nataku. "We wish you good-luck."

Before Adina knew, she was standing outside a circus tent. It took her a while to realize where she was and what had happened. She silently thanked her friends for giving her this opportunity. She raced around the tent to find Trowa. He was no longer a him. She found him outside the tent. She stood behind him not knowing how to approach.

"Waiting for someone?" she asked.

He turned around to see who had spoken and saw Adina standing there with a smile on her face.

"Adina?" he asked.

"No, Diana."

"But how-" he started coming towards her.

"It doesn't matter now. What does matter is that I'm finally able to keep my promise and stay where I belong. I belong with you to give you a reason for living."

"Diana," he said holding her, "I've really missed you. Despite everything and how all hope seemed to fade, I still had my faith in you."

"This time," she whispered, "I won't leave you."

He kissed her soundly and held her tightly not wanting to ever let go. Even though Diana's eyes were closed, tears ran down her face.

"Why are you crying?" he asked.

"These are tears of happiness. And the smile that I'll always have for you and for you alone."

Diana was finally able to keep her promise. She continued to remain with Trowa forever by his side, and were never very far from each other again. For greater distance forms stronger love and what they shared was eternal.
