It was amazing the things that they could convince you to do...
Women, he meant. It was amazing the amount of things that they could convince you to
do. This was how he found himself here in this very moment.
Where was he you asked? He was standing in the middle of a park, on a sunny day, in
front of a vendor to be more specific - buying a berry blast snow cone.
Why was he here? ... Because that was what Sally wanted for desert and for some
unknown, unholy reason, Sally always got what Sally wanted.
It might have been a female thing. It might have been "a screw with Chang thing".
Whatever it was - it had him here, in this very moment in time, about to have a
conversation with her that he didn't want to have.
Frankly he would have preferred to jump into a live, active volcano, but there was no
escaping this.
"Sometime today, shrimp" she called from her spot on the bench underneath the shade
of a willow tree.
The vendor, in a tremendous bout of stupidity, had the nerve to smirk. A very slow,
poisonous glare melted it off his face - and walking away without tipping him, on such a
hot day, left a scowl behind.
He kept his face emotionless as he passed over the sickeningly bright and sweet treat
to her greedy fingers, and watched with morbid fascination as she tore into it with a
frenzy of licks and nibbling bites.
When it looked like she would be making no move to talk until the sweet treat was gone,
he started to relax. In a rare movement, that completely implied total and utter
confidence in his partner, he reached back into obsidian silk and pulled free the tight
hair band.
A deep contented breath was slowly pulled through his tiny nose and back out again,
just as smoothly as it came. He was a little miffed about his tiny muscled frame; but then
again, the only one he'd known of from his clan that had reached a height of more than
five seven was Master O.
"Want to tell me what's going on between you and Yui?" she asked while licking a finger
that had berry blast on it.
He winced, his shoulders tensing under the unexpected question. Nimble fingers
stapled together in his lap as his eyes swept over the vast park grounds before him. His
jaw tensed as he tried to break the habit of biting his own tongue in moments like these.
"There is nothing going on between us." His words were cold, clipped, and precise.
Words meant to end a conversation, but - they both knew it wouldn't faze her much.
Anyone walking by could tell that the words were literally pulled from his soul. Luckily
enough for him, no one else would wander further up this path anytime soon.
He realized with sudden clarity that it was too nice of a day to be having this kind of soul
wrenching conversation. There were birds chirping off in the distance. A warm breeze
was gently rocking the leaves above their heads. There was calmness in the air that
hadn't been felt for years since the wars had ended. And it was all going to be ruined
from her incessant questioning. How was he supposed to explain to her what he
couldn't describe himself?
She paused; her tongue stilled midway to her cone, and peered at him with intelligent,
calculating eyes. He preferred that she went back to eating the damn treat and leave
him be - but the gods weren't listening to him today.
"So nowadays..." her tone took on a sickeningly sweet purr, "being propped up next to
your office door, with a fellow co-workers tongue down your throat - lets ignore that said
co-worker is one Heero Yui for the moment - with your thigh wrapped around his waist,
and both of you moaning... constitutes to nothing"
She went back to licking her cone as total morbid silence ensued. Meanwhile he starred
off into the distance; golden cheeks garnished a bright red, and sighed.
"Just eat the damn snow cone woman." He mumbled.
