Lifei awakes slowly and languidly in his bed. Serenely curling his fingers around
the soft fabric of his pillows, and breathing in the soft rain scented air drifting in through
the balcony. The morning is too perfect and too peaceful to move much further than an
inch at a time. A snail's pace is required; yes, it is good to be alive.
Quiet footsteps echo from the wooden floors outside their bedroom, and
disappear onto the thickness of their carpet.
He is coming.
Anticipation builds low in Lifei's gut only to escape in a rush of air as he breathes
in deeply.
He is close.
Fear tingles behind his ears and travels down to his toes as he waits in the
tangled sheets of soft butterscotch, satin.
He is here.
The morning may have been languid in its peace, but it holds nothing against the
raw, unadulterated power of his partner, his lover, his husband, as he stands above
their bed.
"Awake" That voice is deep, concerned, and familiar in all the right ways. Like
water running over gravel it soothes places inside Lifei's soul that he thought could
never be healed...
Rough thin fingers run down his spine, electrocuting every nerve along its path,
to rest in the small dip of skin where his tailbone ends. A very oversensitive spot to be
touched as pain throbs deeply. Flashes of the last couple of nights run like an instant
reel behind his closed eyelids.
The pleasure, the pain, the pleasure, the pain... Lifei could not tell where one
had ended and the other had begun. It was exquisite in the deepest of ways. Every
ounce of him felt like a live wire.
"Not awake yet it seems" Those fingers press harder into that spot, pain flares
brighter behind his closed eyelids. Lifei grips the pillows by his head, trying not to move
at all, not sure if his body can survive another round so soon.
"Heero" his voice groaned out, practically unusable after most of the screaming
he had done the night before.
. . . Silence. . .
The air around them seems to drop in temperature; fear seizes his heart, and
paralyzes his body... Had he done something wrong? He shifted to turn over but the
fingers were removed. He stilled as they glided over the swell of his cheeks and slipped
in between twin caramel globes. Lifei's body jumped, his heart slamming in his chest as
fire races along his nerves, pleasure consuming his every vivid thought and racing
along his veins, every time.
Heero's devilish fingers play with the entrance to his body, coy in their
movements as they slowly dipped in and out. Loosened with both semen and lube, but
dried some hours before, it was not as smooth as it should have been. But he wouldn't
dare think of saying something now. He was a warrior, not easily prone to breakage,
and besides, for as long as he and Heero had been together, there was no way in hell
that his lover wouldn't know what his body couldn't handle from what it could. He simply
had to trust him, to pray that he hadn't bruised his very delicate ego, or the likelihood of
him being able to move later on would be nil.
Slowly one finger, then two; in then out, and around, in and then out and the
fingers jerked, delving deep into his body and curling up to hit his prostate in one
smooth motion. It was painful, it was perfection.
The howl of pleasure died in his throat even as his body curved and jerked up.
Muscles strained as he tried to lift himself up onto his arms. A forearm was smashed
into his upper back, and he crumbled back down to the pillows gasping for air.
That jolt had awakened every ounce of soreness that had settled in from the
night before. The bruised ribs echoed uneasily in tuned with the shallow cuts made all
over his neck and thighs. Between his simulation runs with Dr. Khan and his demanding
lover, it amazed even him that he was still conscious, much less able to move right now.
Heavy weight was suddenly resting on the back of his thighs. A clothed erection
pressed fingers deeper into his body, prodding his prostate remorselessly while clawed
fingers tangled in his hair and gripped his face down into the satin, clothed pillow,
making it difficult for him to breathe. And even then, it made no difference as his body
was worked over. Lifei had never ever remembered feeling more confused or as
complete in these moments.
Minutes were spent in this manner. Minutes were Lifei was mindless, simply
trying to breathe as his orgasm was build from nothing, on such a slow morning, into an
awe inspiring, breath stealing, release.
Blinking back the tears he huffed as the body above him curled happily as well.
Fingers were removed so slowly that he felt every shift of it. Heero's body leaned
forward, his tongue licking trails at the marks on his neck. Teeth nibbled amongst the
golden flesh there, and most likely left behind another purple-blue bruise to be flaunted
later.
"Awake now."
"Yes." Lifei moaned peacefully as he was allowed the privilege to catch his
breath.
"Good" Heero's full body weight slowly lowered down onto his back, his face
buried against the curve of his neck. His smirk left behind a prominent, self-satisfied
shiver.
"In an hour we need to be dressed and prepared for your final simulation run and
then a briefing."
Lifei lifted his face from the pillow long enough to let his confusion show. "Do you
know what's wrong?" He questioned softly, enjoying the weight on top of him, and not
waiting him to move just yet.
"No, but we'll find out when we head down to medical." Growling Heero shifted
himself up long enough to roll over and discard the black sweats he had soiled; laying
next to his husband in bed.
"You don't think it's anything bad, do you?" Lifei murmured, trying to stay awake.
"According to Dr. K everything is fine. You should be integrated by the end of this
month. There is just one more trial to be completed."
Lifei rose up in disbelief, his arms shaking with the effort to keep him up. Turning
he curled his body some, even though that sent shocks of pain up his spine and made
his head spin. He didn't know if he should ask the question on his mind or not... but in
the end he needed to know.
"Isn't it too soon to have another surgery... especially when there was such a
long recovery the last time?"
Prussian blue eyes narrowed, flinching away from obsidian orbs before giving the
answer he needed to hear through gritted teeth.
"Yes, your recovery took three months, two weeks, six days, one hour, four-eight
minutes, and fifty five seconds." Stunned, Lifei fingers slid forward resting on the bare
chest next to him. He personally couldn't remember anything about that missing time
frame other than the darkness, and the gut-wrenching need, to connect with another
human being as quickly as possible...
It was Heero's tear-filled Prussian blue eye's he had seen first through his own
blurred pair. It was Heero's lips that filled him with air when he was choking to breathe
through the panic. It was Heero's voice that had soothed his achy soul and promised
relief.
It was the first smell of green tea in Heero's cup that had made Lifei hunger for
food, hunger to be free from his bed in the ward. It was Heero's calloused hands he had
gripped during his first tumbling steps. It was Heero's strength that made him want to
live; to prove he was worthy enough to accomplish the complex training laid out ahead
of him. To prove he was worthy enough of being his husband.
"And what does Doctor Khan think integrating me ahead of schedule will
accomplish? That is what the last trail is for right?"
An erratic sigh left his partners' mouth... Lifei watched critically as those lips, lips
that were always curved into a small smirk for him, was now curled in disgust.
"She is not ready to begin but nothing else can be done. Your healing factor is at
maximum. Putting it off may just cause more problems."
"You don't want me to have it?" Lifei questioned hesitantly as he made his way
closer to the body next to his an inch at a time. "What aren't you telling me?"
Heero grunted, pulling his husband's body on top of his own with one harsh tug
of his arm. Arms wrapped tightly around the tiny exotic frame, clenched him closer then
he should. Irrational fear was building up inside Lifei's head. There were too many
things that he still needed to get done. And allowing the surgery meant giving up the
tight control he had over his new found life.
Eventually it came down to a question of trust.
Did he trust the Doctors judgment? Did he trust that the program had completed
its task when he was put under so very long ago? Did the complications from the first
surgery cause permanent damage? Would all the training he had worked so hard to
accomplish slowly unravel in front of his eyes if he went through the last trial too
quickly?
Fingers danced against his jaw, lips pressed softly against his mouth, it was a
distraction. One that at any other time would have him crumbling under its spell, but
now...
Would he be able to withstand losing his lover; someone he never truly knew was
there for him until after he had awoken from the darkness? Did he dare question the
doctors' work? Did he dare tamper with the locks and keys that had been so delicately
placed inside of his mind? Did he dare try to remember the past so elusively locked
away from him for his own good? A past that was reluctantly pulled through his lovers'
gritted teeth.
To him Wufei was already dead; just a memory to be completely erased when
the integration was complete. Wufei was arrogant and pathetic and weak; ignored and
ridiculed behind his back by the very same people he tried to protect. No one wanted to
be around him, everyone feared him or thought him worthless. He was a failure, a
betrayer to his own beliefs.
"Lifei" . . . Heero's perfect face filled his vision . . . "Your trembling?" Heero arms
tightened around the body on top of him. "What's wrong?"
"I will not lose to him!" he whispered.
"Lose?" Fingers combed through the loose strands of hair, pulling them back
behind his ears.
"I want the surgery", fire blazed behind obsidian eyes, his voice breathed his fury.
"I won't lose to him; I won't lose the life we have together. I won't go back to the way
things were."
He was flipped over, the breath knocked from his lungs, his ribs burning with the
sudden weight on top of it.
"Did you think I would just give you up?" Heero raged, eyes narrowing. "Do even
know how long I've been watching you; daring you; following you, waiting for you to see
me? I was oblivious to you. Everything else was more important, everything else came
first. I'm never going to let you go now. Never. You are mine."
Lifei nodded, breathing in deep.
"I know". I just, I couldn't" he sucked in another deep breath even though his
ribs protested the movement "The idea that I could lose you, lose this..."
"Hn." Lips descended to kiss his own, stealing the air from his lungs. Fingers
grabbed and held onto fistfuls of his hair, used it to tilt his head back for better access.
He could only hold on as his husband erased every doubt from his mind using just his
mouth, and tongue. He trembled as that wicked devilish tongue slithered down his
throat to attack his pulse; teeth nibbling softly. It was such a contrast from this morning,
from the night before. He gulped in mouthfuls of air, knowing, if he even allowed his
body to get worked up then there would be no way in hell his husband would let him
leave the bed, much less let him run through the simulation being prepared downstairs.
Heero's mouth lifted from his collarbone, eyes irate as he growled softly. "What
now?"
The urge to laugh was overwhelming; he swallowed it just barely, tightening his
arms around Heero's waist instead.
"Doctor K will be expecting us soon. "
"She can wait" Heero flexed, rising to get into a better position. Confusion
crossed Lifei eyes briefly before he felt his partners' erection against his thigh. Hands
reached across to the nightstand, grabbing the satin ropes and lubricant.
"Heero?" he whispered, fear starting to crawl up his spine.
Prussian eyes narrowed down on his own as his wrists were grabbed and raised
above his head; the ropes a cruel but comforting reminder. He shivered.
"You know how much I need you."
