He panted heavily as he ran. Sweat mixed with tears flowed from him. He gasped lightly as he suddenly stumbled over a root. A sharp cry broke the deafening silence as a small figure fell to the ground. He sniffled slightly, rubbing his eyes and nose with his sleeve as he slowly pushed himself up. He sighed deeply trying to control his breathing as he sat on the dense forest floor.

The tiny boy whipped his head to the left as he hears a branch breaking in the near brush. His gorgeous eyes widen impossibly and he cowers away from the rattling leaves as large, ominous shadows separate themselves from the greenery.

"iie...y-yameru...onegai!" the boy begs, but the shadows clutch onto his slim shoulders and drag him to a clearing. Kicking and screaming in vain the boy struggles against his captors. Soulless, glowing, red eyes stare back at him coldly ordering, "Urusai, odango!" He ceases his struggles as he realizes he will not be released, and notices he is being lifted onto a stone altar under a luminous moon.

He cries out loudly as his thin wrists are harshly tied to the rough stone. Gritting his teeth and squeezing his eyes shut tightly against the pain, he gasps sharply as a foreign rush of power suddenly flows through him. Deep blue eyes take on a yellow glow as a deathly calm takes over the boy. Suddenly, a brilliant golden crescent appears in the middle of the tan forehead, the boy screams piercingly at a high pitch all while keeping a composed face.

A mystical wind tears violently through the clearing and the boy's thick tresses are tossed back and forth across his face. A blinding light floods the clearing, melting the shadows deftly. As swiftly as it came the surge of power left, and glowing eyes rolled lazily into the back of the boy's head and all grew dark and silent once more.

A loud gasp echoed throughout the room, as the sweat-drenched figure bolted up. "Ugh," raising his hand up to rub the sleep from his eyes, a mop of chocolate lazily turned to read the digital clock on the nightstand.

"Oh shit!" Heero cursed as he rolled out of his white sheets in nothing but black boxers. "I'm gonna be so late..." the boy stumbled over to his drawers pulling out socks, underwear and a tie. Pulling up the knee-high socks, Heero wobbled over to his closet where he pulled out his uniform.

Pulling the white oxford over his head, the small Japanese ran into his bathroom and brushed his teeth and hair. He messily placed a satin pink ribbon in his hair and put on two small sapphire star earrings.

"Why do I keep having these dreams?" he mumbled to himself as he walked out of the bathroom to put on his skirt. Pulling up the all-too-short plaid skirt to his hips he quickly picked up the blue tie and placed it around his neck. He snatched his keys after tying his black heels and bustled out of his apartment, locking the door behind him, "..oh well that's all they are...dreams."

With that he locked his door and jogged down the stairwell to his white jeep wrangler. However he failed to notice that he now sported a golden crescent moon in the center of his forehead.

Swerving into the parking lot, Hirokai applied a clear, shiny lipgloss, and adjusted her skirt as she stepped out of her jeep.

"Damn thing's so short..." she muttered under her breath as she walked briskly through the double doors of Jubeii Highschool. The halls were nearly empty, and the small girl winced realizing just how late she must be if only a few stragglers were left in the normally buzzing hallway.

Quickening her step, she stopped at her blue locker and decoded her lock, throwing it open in a rush. As she shoved her backpack in the small metal corner a shadow suddenly formed around her and beside the locker. The shorthaired girl gasped in fear and spun her head around only to come face to face with her best friend. A small 'eep' escaped her before she sighed in relief, "Don't do that! You baka!" she chastised gently as she looked up into the endless amethyst eyes of her best friend, Duo Maxwell.

A devil-may-care smirk spread over the heart-shaped face of the junior, "Aww c'mon babe! I'm sorry!" he whined.

Midnight eyes rolled, "Save it." she said but smiled nevertheless. "Anyway what are you doing out of class?" she scolded, she was almost half an hour late to school.

"What am I doing out of class? More like what are you doing out here," the braided boy said as he leaned against the metal lockers, "It's not like school started about thirty minutes ago or anything."

The Japanese girl sighed in exasperation, "I know, I know...I just...overslept" she said looking down, not wanting to discuss her dreams. She refrained from sighing, as she knew full well that the other would want her to expound.

"Bad dreams?" Duo said frowning slightly. He knew his best friend had been having terrible nightmares lately, and he worried for her. He'd come to realization that he cared deeply for this girl even though they had been merely friends for so long.

"Yeah...It's ok though...I'm ok," Hirokai offered, "Now seriously why are you out of class?" she said in an attempt to change the subject. Duo frowned deeper at the sudden change of topic but decided to inquire about it later.

"Heh," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck, "well...ah...I was uh just..." He stumbled over his words searching for an appropriate excuse. He couldn't tell the girl he'd been worried since he hadn't seen her before the bell rang. Then again he could tell her and see how it went…his mind jumbled as he noticed the girl growing more impatient.

The Japanese sophomore elegantly raised a tweezed brow, "Uh huh? You were just what exactly?" she asked curious as to what elaborate excuse her close friend would come up with today.

"Gimme a break, ne?" the boy complained and swiftly turned the tables, "soo...what's with this new look?" he asked gesturing toward her forehead. The small moon had caught his attention immediately and he wondered why the girl had put such a strange mark on herself

Hirokai looked at the boy confusedly, "What new look?" she asked genuinely confused. She looked down at herself and noticed nothing out of place in her clean uniform.

Violet eyes blinked largely, "The moon on your head baka." he said bluntly. He brought a gentle hand up to her head and brushed aside her bangs, the small symbol felt like just another part of her skin, but seemed to glow when he touched it.

With wide eyes a slim hand shot up to the delicate forehead, "Nani?!" she asked in an almost panicked voice.

Those eyes blinked again in confusion, "Well yeah I'm serious…" He trailed off slightly bewildered at the other's confusion and almost panic.

With that the small girl rushed down the hall into the nearest bathroom, Duo close behind. Busting through the bathroom door Hirokai rushed up to the large mirrors. Pulling her bangs aside she gasped in astonishment as she saw the same markings as the one's in her dreams, "Wha...?" she said in fear and awe.

She washed her face gently and tried to rub the symbol off her forehead with a damp towel. To no avail she gave up and walked out of the restroom to face her friend.

Duo turned around as he heard the door open, "I told you," he frowned at the girls lost look, "You mean you didn't know it was there?" he asked. Shaking her head Hirokai sighed and decided to tell her unaware friend about the dream.

"I dreamed it…I dreamed I was...being captured and this mark appeared...and…" that was all she could manage to say as tears were welling at the corners of her ebony lashes. What did this mean?

Duo looked at his friend in concern, "Don't cry babe, it's just a dream and a little moon...thingie. It's actually a hot look for you!" he said in an attempt to cheer her up.

The Japanese smiled slightly and sniffled, "Thanks Duo-chan."

"Nah," the other shrugged, "What are men for?" he joked slinging his arm over her slim shoulders. Hirokai reveled in the small touch and walked back to her locker with the beautiful boy.

Opening her backpack she quickly pulled out her books and walked to class waving slightly to the boy she'd fallen for. She briskly walked into her chemistry class and settled down, after a quick confrontation with her sensei, next to one of her other best friends, Quatre.

The blonde boy was also curious about the strange crescent, but the short girl shook her head smiling indicating she didn't know. Spending most of the class daydreaming and talking with the bright boy beside her, the brunette sighed anxious to end the day.

Hearing the bell ring the two sophomores dashed out to the flooded hallway. Briskly walking to their lockers the Japanese and her blonde companion heard a commotion coming from the cafeteria at the end of the hallway. The dark-headed girl looked back at her friend questioningly, who simply shrugged.

Nearing the end of the hallway Hirokai frowned and grabbed the pale arm of her friend, pulling him through the crowd of students. As the two politely pushed their way through the immense crowd they heard tails of conversations that weren't very reassuring.

"Twenty bucks says they'll kick Duo's, Wufei's, and Trowa's asses," one tall boy said, smirking to his friends

"Whatever. Duo can take on anyone," a blonde girl said, sighing as she thought of the handsome junior.

"Yea! Wufei's into all that kung-fu shit! He can kick serious ass!" Dark blue eyes rolled as the brunette saw one clown speak about her Chinese friend, but kept pushing politely with the Arabian in tow.

"Who the hell are these guys?" was the last thing, the two heard as they were finally upon the clearing. Hirokai only frowned deeper and pushed through to the front of the crowd, and what she saw put her in shock. Five large, hard-looking boys had snarls on their faces and were scanning the crowd as if looking for someone imparticular.

The girl felt a shiver down her spine when one of the boys looked at her directly in the eyes. He nodded his head and smirked towards the other four when he saw her.

It was then that she noticed Duo, Wufei, and Trowa were standing between her and other boys. The braided junior looked back at her and his eyes widened perceptively. "Quatre, get her outta here!" he yelled suddenly.

The Arabian nodded and grabbed her arm, tugging at her gently. The blue-eyed girl jerked her arm harshly away, however, and looked up at Duo in worry, "What's going on?" she asked.

"Just go, Hirokai we can handle it" Wufei tossed back. He stood in a fighting stance and looked ready if any of the obviously bigger boys decided to make a move. Trowa also turned and nodded to the slightly taller blonde beside her.

Hirokai clenched her teeth in argument, "What? Why should I have to go?" she protested.

At that moment two of the five boys jumped clear over Duo and the other two, only to land right in front of unprepared girl. "Should have listened to your friends, odango." he said grabbing her chin roughly.

Sapphire eyes bulged in fear as she recognized the pet name, her mouth opened in an attempt to scram, but suddenly the boy was thrown out of her vision. She snapped her head to where the boy had flown and saw that he was smashed into the school wall.

She looked back in front of her to see the braided junior with a nasty snarl marring his handsome face and a glowing sun in the middle of his forehead. "Don't you ever fucking grab her again!" he ground out between clenched teeth.

The entire crowd of the student body drew back in surprise and fear. This was a side of the easy-going joker, Duo Maxwell, they had never seen before. The violet-eyed boy turned around quickly, "What are you waiting for, Quat? Get her out of here now!" he barked.

The sophomore shook himself out of his surprise and nodded in assertion and grabbed the stubborn girl firmly pulling her away, despite her protests.

"No! Duo! Don't do this! Let me stay and help you! DUO!" she jerked as fiercely as she could but to no avail and was hurriedly led out of the building.

"Please, Hiro-chan don't make this any more difficult then it already is." Her blonde friend pleaded as he pulled her outside. The small girl was nearly in tears as she fell to her knees outside of the school.

Quatre hurried to his friends' side and hugged her warmly. "What's wrong Hiro-chan? They'll be alright. I mean, they have to be." he smiled reassuringly.

Sniffling, the girl bit her lip and looked up at Quatre, her eyes swimming with unshed tears, "No Quatre...they won't." she whispered hauntingly.
