Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Revenge ❯ Revenge ( Chapter 1 )
"Heero?"
It was cold and creepy in the gym's basement. It had the presence of a graveyard at night. Duo always heard rumors of how old Freddy Peterson's ghost was down there. Freddy Peterson was the football coach six years ago, but he mysteriously fell down the staircase that Duo was standing on. The poor guy broke his neck. The doctors said that he died nearly instantly. There were suspicions that one of the football players pushed him down the staircase because Peterson decided to turn in the best player because he was on steroids. Apparently, his ghost would haunt the basement every time there was a football game. Even the dead could not be separated from their obsessions.
Chills went up and down Duo's spine. Why would Heero choose this rendezvous point? It wasn't anywhere near Halloween and Heero never had much of a prankster sense of humor, so Duo knew that Heero hadn't lured him down there to frighten him...
With a sigh, Duo stepped off of the last step. Besides the setting of this particular date, Heero had acted strangely. There was the way he asked Duo to meet him there: he'd slipped a simple anonymous note under Duo's door. It said, "Saturday 6th, gym basement, 5:00," and was otherwise blank. (Duo had known it was Heero because any other normal person would have simply written it. Heero always typed out these notes.)
Now, this might seem perfectly fine to someone who wasn't involved with Duo and Heero's relationship... but it wasn't perfectly fine to Duo. See, at the earliest points in their relationship, Heero wasn't used to anything: the newly found friendship, the prospect of being gay, the sex, and on top of all of that he had to deal with his internal battles... That was when he would constantly slip anonymous notes under Duo's dorm room door. There would be nothing else but - yes, you guessed it - the date, place, and time. This showed his insecurity and absolute fear of being caught with Duo.
However, months into their relationship, Heero was finally used to everything and himself, courtesy of his boyfriend. Duo was able to lure Heero out of the closet. They announced that they were dating to the people that mattered (a few weren't surprised, I might add.) And Heero never used typed notes as a means of communication again.
Imagine Duo's confusion and surprise when he found another note slipped under his door, leaving him only enough time to take a quick shower and change before leaving for the basement.
After glancing at his watch which told him that it was 5:10, you could also imagine the worry (for so help me God, Heero Yuy was never late) and the small kindle of anger.
There was a noise.
"Heero?" Duo called out again, warily. He shuddered. Oh, God, what if it was old Peterson?
Don't be a fool. There wasn't even a game going on. And even if ghosts were real, they couldn't make noises (unless they were one of those fake ghosts from the Travel channel.)
Duo approached cautiously. "Damn it, Heero, stop messing around."
"It's not Heero."
Duo nearly jumped out of his skin. He recognized the soft voice. He gasped out, "Relena?" He put a hand over his rapidly thumping heart and nearly let out a laugh of relief. "I almost thought..." He shook his head, "Never mind."
He suddenly remembered what role Relena had always played: his archrival for Heero's attention. He cleared his throat and straightened his back, deciding to skip all formalities. "What're you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk to you."
So she sent the note.
"About Heero?" Duo asked, stiffening slightly (what else could she want to talk to him about? It wasn't like they shared an interest in chess.) Duo had the feeling that she didn't want to congratulate them.
"Yes, about Heero." It was so dark, he could hardly see her. He could only see an outline as she moved towards him slightly. "I don't have the faintest idea what you did or said to him, Maxwell - "
"I didn't say or do anything to him. He's the one that originally came to me." And that was the truth. Heero first approached Duo because he subconsciously wanted a friendship with the amethyst-eyed boy. Heero was even the one that made the first move sexually. Sure, they'd both been a bit drunk, but there was no question about who hit on whom first.
He could tell that Relena was positively bristling. There was a tug of satisfaction on his lips.
"You had to do something to Heero," Relena's innocent image was fading as anger and contempt was rising along with the volume of her voice. "We were in love before you came along."
"Oh, don't tell me you're talking about that little phase where he was terrified to have any other image but the lead cheerleader's straight boyfriend." Duo didn't hide the smugness that tinged his words.
You can't blame Duo for being absolutely horrible to Relena. As cliché as it may sound, he'd entered the boarding school and was targeted by Relena's gang nearly instantly, mostly because of his long braid. Imagine how he felt as he gradually learned that he was lusting for the stoic boyfriend that was always attached at the cheerleader's side; the lust eventually turning into real feelings as he got to know the boy more and more. He truly suffered, even as Heero reached out (secretly) to be his friend.
It would only be fair now to say that you would have to next imagine Relena's feelings, no matter how undignified she acts in this story. She truly wasn't a very bad person, only pressured immensely by popularity. Truth be told, she was the one within the popular clique that demanded Duo Maxwell be left alone. And then to find that the love of her life was leaving her for the same boy...
Her friends told her to do something about it. This was the wilderness of high school, after all, and no girl of such social power should let something so embarrassing and disrespectful pass without revenge. Relena, driven by her own damaged heart, agreed. She had hesitated, but now...
"What did you do to him?!" she demanded, her echoing voice still piercing the eerie silence that followed... now, she was almost certain...
Duo smirked after a moment. "I didn't do anything but what he asked: spread my legs."
... That she definitely wanted to see Duo Maxwell hurt. Her thumb pressed the button on the metal flashlight that was gripped tightly within her small hands. A white, blinding light shined into Duo's violet eyes, making him grimace and turn away, holding up his hands to shade his eyes. He yelled when he was tackled, face colliding against the cold stone floor. The two brutes from the football team were giants in comparison to Duo's small frame, and only one of them had to press his meaty paws on Duo's shoulders to keep him successfully pinned to the floor.
He squirmed and yelled and tried with all his might to get away from his unknown attacker, but the only results he received were clouts over the back of his head and exhaustion. When he finally stilled, Relena walked up to Duo so that she was towering over him. She knelt down gently, careful not to bruise her knees, and grasped a handful of Duo's golden locks, forcing him to look at her. She smiled grimly when she saw the fear in his eyes. "I thought that this was what you liked, Maxwell. Being overpowered and controlled by nice, strong men." She was bitterly sardonic. Heero was nice and strong, after all. Extraordinarily powerful. Her grasp on his hair tightened as she thought about his strong arms wrapped around someone else's waist. She narrowed her eyes as she thought about his strong arms wrapped around Duo's waist.
Duo tried to spit at her, but she saw it coming and got away from him before he had the chance. She hesitated and saw her two companions looked up at her expectantly. "Go ahead," she signaled to the two giants.
"You know, we're only doing this for you," the one holding Duo down said as the other began to unbuckle his belt. "It's not like we're gay for this little faggot or nothing..."
Relena nodded in understanding. She was clenching her jaw tightly, firmly ignoring the little voice in the back of her head that was screaming that this was so wrong on so many different levels. Wasn't it worse that Duo had stolen her boyfriend and somehow made him gay? Wasn't it worse that he had embarrassed her in front of the entire of the school? Imagine, she! The lead cheerleader and arguably the most popular girl in school, having her boyfriend stolen and turned gay by this little…
"Wait," Duo said desperately, eyes widening in realization, his voice already all ready hoarse from the yelling. "Wait, don't do this - "
When he received another clout to the back of his head he shouted out in pain. "Shut up," the one pinning him down hissed. Duo tried to turn to glare at him, to see what was happening behind him. The grip on his shoulders increased painfully. He could barely shift.
"Relena," he called out. Relena wouldn't let this happen, he figured. Sure, they were enemies for Heero's love, and yes, Duo had won and had mocked her about it, but Duo had never considered that the line between verbal and physical would be crossed. Yet she didn't answer. The two behind him were laughing at his desperate outburst.
Strong hands grabbed his hips and thrust them upward until they were in the air. His tight jeans were being tugged off, leaving red marks in their path, particularly because Duo was kicking out. Eventually, the other nameless attacker grabbed the slender ankles and pulled the jeans off completely, discarding them carelessly to the side. The boxers quickly followed. Goosebumps attacked Duo's skin as the cold air prickled at him. A blush of humiliation spread from his cheeks to his ears and down his neck. All the while, Duo had been yelling, imploring; his voice was beginning to become scratchy. He was ignored.
"Wouldn't it be easier if he was on his back?" one of them suggested, and the next moment Duo was overturned roughly with a yelp. He stopped yelling unexpectedly, as if he had realized that yelling was not helping, only hurting his voice. He only made low sounds of a mixture of growls and groans. Relena focused the light on his angry face, flushed with humiliation, and even abandonment - as if he had been relying on Relena for just one small moment. There were no tears, though. She turned the light away with the silent excuse that her companions needed the light focused on Duo's - lower half - to see so that - this - would be easier for them.
There was a hiss of pain as a hefty hand wrapped the long, rope of a braid around it, tugging Duo's head until it was pressing into the stone cold floor. A rock was pinching into Duo's temple.
"Maybe we should cut it," one of them laughed. When Duo started struggling and groaning all the more, he used his paw to grab Duo's hands and fastened them over his head. They were quick to forget that they were about to have sex with another man. They thought of this as another situation that had them bullying another weakling.
"Don't." It wasn't Duo that whispered it. "Just get on with it." The little voice in the back of her head grew louder.
Using one hand to hold Duo's ankles together and the other to pull down his zipper, the assailant's jeans and boxers were pulled down enough for his limp prick to hang out. There was a split moment where he flushed with embarrassment, but didn't hesitate to think about his girlfriend that was waiting in his dorm room. The prick grew harder and harder; Duo's legs were draped over his shoulder.
I suppose one could figure that Duo was slightly in denial to the point where he felt the hardness pressing at his entrance. That's when his eyes started to burn, his stomach started churning violently, when he couldn't help but cry out for Heero. The grip on his arms and around his braid tightened as the brute began to push himself into Duo.
Relena, seemingly coldly calm until that point, looked away as Duo's voice, strangled with pain, reached her ears. She closed her eyes when Duo started to beg all the more, she clenched her jaw whenever he screamed for Heero. She couldn't even block out the sound of the tearing inside of Duo, the sound of his skin bruising.
"`Heero!'" the one holding Duo's shoulders down mocked, laughing. "Do you really think your little faggot is going to hear you all the way down here?"
She couldn't quite ignore Duo's sob. She opened her eyes to look at the tears streaming down the clenched eyes, his face grimaced in pain.
This is the wilderness of high school. Duo had it coming if he thought that he could steal Heero and get away with it.
"You're a little piece of shit," the one holding Duo down continued.
For being in love? Relena pushed the thought away. He deserved this.
The one pounding into Duo groaned loudly, grunting, "Shit," as he finally came. He was still for a moment, and there was no sound but the broken sobs, before he finally realized what the hell he was doing and pulled out of Duo as if the beaten boy was nothing but a disease.
He wasn't a disease. When she thought about it, Duo was no different from Relena. They both wanted Heero… and Heero had chosen. Relena might not have liked the outcomes of the choice, but did that really give her any right to have this done to Duo simply because he was in love? Could she really blame Duo for loving someone as amazing as Heero? Was it really so wrong that Duo and Heero were gay?
"Do you want me to hold him down?"
"No, that's okay. I can handle him," the other bent over Duo and began to pull off his pants and underwear.
"Wait," Relena said. The two brutes looked up at her, slightly surprised. "It's not necessary." She searched for words. "He's learned his lesson."
They looked - dare I say it? - disappointed. They knew how to follow orders, however, and after more mocking words while dressing (nothing of importance, things that Duo ignored as he laid there, trying to stop crying, clutching the shreds of his dignity.)
Relena left with her two partners in crime; she didn't stay behind to help, as the voice inside her head insisted she must.
Duo was later found by the janitor, was rushed to the hospital (where he was joined by Heero, and later his unwavering friends), and made a full physical recovery. He did have to take emotional therapy for some time after that, and was dangerously close to becoming emotionless and suicidal. He pulled through with the help of his friends and Heero, who stayed by Duo's side even after being pushed away numerously.
The two brutes (Duo later learned that their names were Jason and Scott) were caught and arrested. Relena escaped, for nothing was traced back to her, even after Scott admitted that she'd persuaded them to rape Duo. Duo wouldn't tell anyone about Relena being part of his assault.
Should I make a second chapter for the elaboration of what happened to Duo afterwards, or is the first chapter so absolutely horrible that no one would be able to stand it if there was a second chapter? Even if you have no opinion about the second chapter, I would like to know what you think, whether you're flaming me or complimenting me. (I already know that the story is a bit cliché… perhaps some tips for a next story?)
