Wufei wearily trudged into a bar. He had been coming here regularly ever since he lost his job three weeks ago. He had worked at a prestigious law firm and was quickly rising in ranks. Then he got fired without a reason. He still didn't know why and when he tried to go somewhere else for a job they would deny him. When he cornered one of his old friends from the law firm he asked why he couldn't get any jobs in the city. His friend had sadly related how the firm had blacklisted him. From then on Wufei had been in a state of depression.
He took to drinking and he was rapidly depleting his savings. He didn't even think of moving since he had lived here his whole life. All of his memories were here. He didn't want to move and leave everything behind.
He ordered a bottle of vodka from the bar and hid himself away in a booth. He sat there and stared at his drink then slammed it back and poured himself another. He drank to get away from the depression eating him alive. He slammed another drink back and again poured himself another. Before he could slam it back a hand came out of nowhere and stopped him. He stared dumbly at the pale hand staying his hand.
He followed the hand up the arm to see a chest encased in a tight black shirt with a gold cross. He could see that whoever it was, was wearing tight black jeans. He looked further up until he saw violet eyes staring at him amusedly. Brown bangs framed the face and pale pink lips twisted up in a small smirk. Wufei narrowed his eyes at him and roughly moved his hand out of the grip and slammed the drink back. The man still stood beside him and stared at him. It was slightly unnerving to Wufei and he roughly asked, "What do you want?"
"Nothing. Just wondering why a handsome guy as yourself is trying to drown his sorrows in a drink by himself." Said the smooth voice. It was a deep timbre that sounded pleasant but Wufei could hear the power that the voice held.
He looked up memorized at the newcomer. Entranced by the violet eyes that seem to glow with an unearthly light. Wufei blinked at the eyes returned to normal. Wufei shook his head and wondered if he shouldn't drink anymore. He looked once more at the unexpected visitor and feeling kind of lonely, "Would you like to sit?"
"Yes I would."
The man sat across from him and stared. Wufei felt uncomfortable in the gaze that seemed to rake over him hungrily. Wufei shifted and looked at his drink.
"I'm sorry. Would you like a drink?" He asked.
The man smiled at him showing a row of white teeth, "I would love to."
Wufei signaled the waitress to come over and told her to get the man a drink. The waitress went to go take care of the order leaving the two men alone together again.
"What is your name?" Wufei asked while still fiddling with his drink.
"Duo Maxwell, and yours?"
"Chang Wufei."
"Wufei…Nice name."
The way Duo purred his name made him blush. Wufei admitted to himself that the man across from him was gorgeous. He had an ethereal look to him but also something sinful. Very sinful. It was enticing and Wufei blushed more.
Duo grinned, "Thank you. I'll see you later."
Duo then rose and turned to leave. He stopped when Wufei grabbed his hand, "But I thought you wanted a drink."
"No, I got what I came for. I'll see you again, Wufei."
Then he was gone. Wufei shivered when he heard the words. `I'll see you again' rang through his head. It sounded so final as if he didn't have a choice in the matter. Wufei huffed at his own thoughts and downed the glass. He quickly paid for his drink and went home.
Later that night, Wufei was asleep in his house. His black hair fanned out around his head as he mumbled in his sleep. He started to thrash and whimper before waking up in a cold sweat. He got out of bed and put on some sweat pants before heading downstairs.
He went into the kitchen and made himself some coffee. As the coffee dripped he felt a wisp of something against his neck. He turned around but found nothing there. He shrugged it off as paranoia and went back to looking at his coffee percolate. Again the wisp of something pressed against him, this time his shoulder. He again turned but found nothing. He shook his head and got a coffee cup down. When the coffee was done he poured himself some and sat at the table. He drank his coffee slowly as he thought.
He almost didn't hear it but soon a soft whispering could be heard. He looked around but couldn't find where the noise originated. He strained to hear it and his eyes widened as he heard it.
`Come to me Wufei. Come to me. Open the door, Wufei. Let me in.'
Wufei as if in a daze went to the front door and opened it. There stood Duo still pale and wearing black. The only thing that shone was his violet eyes that seemed to glow and the gold cross around his neck. He smiled and walked into the house.
The next morning, Wufei woke up in his room. He frowned in confusion. The last thing he remembered was being in the kitchen drinking coffee and he couldn't figure out how he got to the bedroom. He shifted and winced as sore muscles complained. His eyes widened as he figured out why his muscles were sore especially his ass. He looked around but found no one in the room with him and he didn't hear anyone in the house.
He frowned as he tried to figure out what happened the night before. He stretched out his hands and came in contact with a something on the other pillow. He picked it up and gasped. It was a white rose stained with red blood. There was a note attached and Wufei read it.
It said: For the Innocence lost and the pure soul that has been tainted. Be ready, I come tonight.
There was no indication to who had left him the note, but he figured it must have been the same someone who caused his muscles to be sore. Wufei didn't understand and he wanted to be angry with the person who did this, but he couldn't be.
That confused him more than anything. All he could feel was warmth and safety. He got up in a daze and didn't notice how he reverently placed the rose on the dresser. He went to bathroom and showered. He winced when soap touched his neck and he raised his hand to it and winced in pain again. Once he was showered he went to the mirror and stared in shock as he saw two small marks on his neck. They weren't bruised or anything just two small holes on his neck.
He sighed and decided to worry about it later. He had to go job-hunting today. There had to be a law firm that would hire him. He got dressed and went downstairs. He made himself breakfast and looked at the classifieds.
After another day of fruitless searching Wufei collapsed onto his bed. He was slightly disappointed when Duo wasn't at the bar today. He fell asleep and instead of dreaming about the death of his parents and best friend he dreamed something entirely different. He was on a dark silk bed, he could feel eyes on him but he couldn't see past the bed. He heard dark chuckling and a voice, "Soon my sweet. You'll be mine and then we can be together forever."
And instead of feeling frightened he smiled and again felt the feelings of warmth and protection. He felt invisible hands run up his legs and massage his thighs. He groaned and closed his eyes. More hands came into the mix and started to rub his nibbles while other hands ran through his hair. He sighed in pleasure from the feelings.
Wufei woke up gasping for breath. Pleasure still singed through his body. He felt his erection strain in his boxers and he hissed as he gently started stroke himself. He felt his hand stop and he whined in plea to far-gone to think that he didn't have to stop. Then he heard the whisper again.
`Come to me Wufei. Come to me. Open the door, Wufei. Let me in.'
Wufei got up in a daze and went to the front door again. And again all he saw were glowing purple eyes and a gold cross.
The next morning Wufei woke up with a feeling of soreness. He frowned, he didn't like waking up and not remembering who he made love to the night before. He looked over at the other side of the bed and found another rose. This time it was blood red.
He read the note: For the love I hold for you. Be ready young Dragon. Tonight you will be mine.
Wufei reached up to his neck and he felt the holes in his neck. They didn't heal at all. He sighed and got dressed again but he decided to laze around the day. He didn't go out again to find a job since he knew no one would hire him. He sighed and looked at a picture of his parents and his best friend. It was taken before the accident and their deaths.
They had been driving back from picking his friend, Meiran, from the train station. They had stopped at a red light. They didn't see the car that plowed into them from behind but they did see the semi truck that plowed into the side of the car. They all died instantly. He had been devastated but kept on living for his parents and his friend. It had been a year since their deaths. He sighed as he put the picture down and sat down on the couch.
He turned on the TV and watched it for a while. Before he realized it, it was nine pm. He yawned and trudged into the kitchen. He got himself a snack and was going back to the living room when the doorbell rang. He put down the snack at the nearest table and made his way to the door. He put his hair into a tight ponytail like usual and made sure he looked presentable. Then he opened the door. Duo stood on the other end.
Duo wore a tight black shirt like before with a gold cross. He had on leather black pants and boots. The only thing that stood out was the gold cross and his violet eyes that glinted in the light. Wufei's mouth went dry as he looked at the beautiful sight.
Duo held out a black rose to him and then it all clicked into place for Wufei.
"You're the one."
"Yes."
"But why? I don't understand."
"You will, let me in my sweet dragon."
Wufei moved out of the doorway and beckoned him in. Duo crossed the threshold then took Wufei's face in his hands and kissed him.
Wufei moaned into the kiss before breaking it and backing away, "Hold on. First explain everything to me."
"Of course, my sweet dragon."
"And don't call me that."
"Why not my sweet dragon."
Wufei offered no explanation and led him to the living room. He sat on the armchair while Duo took the sofa. Duo leaned back on the sofa with his legs extended and crossed at the ankles. He looked powerful and sexy at the same time. Wufei swallowed, "You were going to explain why."
"Why what?"
"I want to know why are you doing this? Why I don't remember you those two nights."
"Don't you want to know what I am?"
"I already figured out what you are."
"Oh and what is that."
"A vampire. I figured it out, even though it sounds insane it's the only explanation for the bite marks on my neck and the fact I can't remember what happened those nights. Now all I want to know is why."
"Why am I doing this? I am doing this because you are beautiful my sweet dragon and I must have you."
"I am not some pet to be claimed. I am a human being." Wufei huffed indignantly. Duo smiled at him.
"Ooh. Feisty. I am wrong, you are more than a pet. I'm sorry I said otherwise."
"You are forgiven. But you still need to answer my questions."
"Alright, I wanted you because I fell in love with you. I felt your pain and wanted to end it. As to why you don't remember those two nights. I simply didn't want you to."
"Oh." Was all Wufei could say.
He blinked and then Duo was right in front of him. He moved back but was caught with pale cold hands that held him in place. Soft lips pressed against his. He opened his mouth at the feeling of a slick tongue rubbing against his lips. The tongue swept in and explored the recesses of Wufei's mouth. He moaned into the kiss. Then gasped for breath when Duo let him go.
"I have an important question for you Wufei."
Wufei breathed heavily but nodded for Duo to continue.
"I want you to come with me. To be like me. For me to turn you into vampire. Do you want this?"
Wufei thought it over for a minute. He didn't have a job and he had been very lonely. Plus he felt safe and warm with Duo. He nodded his head again.
"I need to hear you say it Wufei."
"I want to be with you. To become a vampire like you."
"Good. Now this will hurt but it will fade soon. Do you trust me."
"Yes."
Duo then smiled and caressed Wufei's cheek. He leaned down and bit into Wufei's neck. Wufei sighed at the pleasurable feeling. Duo sucked Wufei's blood until it was nearly gone. Then he took his nail and cut along the vein in his wrist. He pressed it to Wufei's slack lips and urged him to drink.
Wufei was immersed in pleasure. Every minute he felt weaker and weaker until he could barely hold his head up. Then he felt something sweet at his lips. He drank the sweet nectar. All too soon it was being taken away from it and he reached for it. He heard chuckling and opened his eyes to see Duo above him.
He was on his back with his head in Duo's lap. His hair was out of it's usual restraint and he could feel Duo running his fingers through it. He smiled slightly up at Duo who smiled down at him.
Duo then handed him the black rose with a note attached. Wufei opened the note: To death of one life and a beginning of another. My sweet Dragon. Shinigami.
"Shinigami?"
"Yes. That is what I am. Come, you must meet the others."
"Others?"
"Others like me. There are four in my group and now you make five. Come they would love to meet you."
"Okay, Shinigami my love."
"Yes, your love. And you're mine, my sweet dragon."
Wufei smiled and they walked out into the bright sunshine to meet the others of their group.
