Part 15- Epilogue

New Year's Eve- Lunar Tower

"We are all gathered here today to celebrate the inauguration of the Preventor's Military Instillation and to commemorate the one year anniversary of the Amazon War," starts Relena. "The road to peace has been very bumpy, and there will surely be much more bumps to overcome. That is why this post is necessary. Now I introduce to you Mrs. Dorothy Winner, the general of PMI."

"Thank you, Miss Relena. This base will be the headquarters for any military activity. As you know, I was once Queen Herania, but no more. The Amazons have been turned into Preventors and their suits have been graciously volunteered to be of use to the PMI. We hope that our services will not be needed by the Earth Sphere Unified Nation, but in the case that we are, our forces will be ready. Thank you, and enjoy the celebration."

They both join their friends, Quatre, Trowa, Catherine, Duo, Hilde, Wufei, Sai Mee, Zechs, Lucrezia, Sally, Lady Une, and Mariemaia. "This benefit has been a great success," says Lady Une.

"Yes, thank you so much for doing this for me. The Winner Trust Fund for the Homeless benefits thousands of people. I'm sure you'll be getting many thank you notes from the people," says Quatre.

"Oh!" says Lucrezia.

"What is it?" asks Zechs. "Is it the baby?"

"It's all right. He just kicked," says Lucrezia calmly.

"When is he due again?" asks Mariemaia. "I can't wait to see him. It will be nice not to be the smallest in the group." Everyone smiles.

"He's due on February 19, but he's so strong, I think he may show up sooner," says Lucrezia.

"You'll be an aunt soon, Relena," says Mariemaia.

"I feel so old," says Relena. Everyone laughs.

"How do you think being a Lieutenant for PMI will be, Sai Mee?" asks Catherine.

"I think it will be much better than working for the Amazons. Defending the people's peace is better than trying to take it from them. But you guys must know how I feel. You went through the same thing. You were lost for a while fighting on the wrong side. But you all work for the Preventors with your Gundams now," says Sai Mee.

"Come on, Duo" says Hilde, "Let's dance." They make their way onto the floor and the other couples follow: Heero and Relena, Wufei and Sai Mee, Quatre and Dorothy. The others prefer to sit and watch contently.

"I can remember the first time we danced," reminisces Heero, "I nearly tried to kill you minutes before. I guess things have really changed with me and the world."

"That was the first time you saved me life. I've lost track of how many times you had to rescue me. But, that was also the first time you left me," says Relena.

"I won't leave you anymore. I'm here to stay. Come with me." They make their way to the stage.

"Excuse me, but I have something special to say right now to Relena," says Heero in front of everyone. "Relena, from the first time we met, there was something between us. I was lost before I met you. I lost everything that made me human. You gave me back my humanity; you gave me a reason to live. I know now that I can't live without you in my life. You are my world; you are my life; you are my heart and my soul. I guess what I trying to say is...is...will...will you..."

"Yes, I will marry you," exclaims Relena with tears in her eyes.

"You will?" Heero says.

"Of course. I don't know what took you so long." With that, they kiss and everyone gives a big "aw."

Everyone starts crowding around the two.

"I was wondering when Heero would propose," says Duo, "It took him long enough. I proposed to Hilde the minute we got back from the Amazon war and then we got hitched the next week."

"I think Heero's timing was perfect. Everyone has their own right time. So Wufei, when are you going to propose?" asks Quatre.

"I'm not going to propose," he says, "At least not yet," he whispers to the other boys. "Besides, I'm not the one we should be worrying about. Trowa doesn't even have a girlfriend."

"I'll take care of that," says Lady Une. She grabs Trowa and makes her way to Silvia Noventa.

"Hello, Sylvia. This is Trowa Barton," says Lady Une.

"Hello, Trowa. Nice to see you again," says Sylvia.

"You've met before," asks Lady Une.

"Yes, when Heero went to apologize to the family members of the government officials he accidentally massacred," answers Trowa.

"I'm glad to see the both of you are doing good with your lives now..." says Sylvia. They both talk on the side.

Lady Une, Lucrezia, Dorothy, Sally, Sai Mee, and Mariemaia gather on the side. "So Relena, how does it feel to be engaged?" asks Sai Mee.

"This is the happiest I've been in my entire life. I'm sure you'll feel exactly the way I do," replies Relena.

"So who is going to be your flower girl?" asks Mariemaia.

"Why, you of course. And, all of you will be my bridesmaids," Relena says, referring to the rest of them. The hours pass quickly as the festivities continue. Soon it will be midnight.

"Grab a kissing partner quickly," says the announcer, "It'll be midnight is less than one minute. Get ready to welcome the year After Colony 200."

Zechs and Lucrezia, Wufei and Sai Mee, Duo and Hilde, Quatre and Dorothy, Heero and Relena, Trowa and Sylvia, and everyone else who has found someone gets ready. The countdown begins: "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, Happy New Year." Everyone kisses their partner.

The beginning of a new century of peace has begun, but how long will it last?
