Chapter Five

 

Heero sat listening to everyone around him speak, with Baka on his lap purring softly up at him.

 

"This is sad…Sally's missin' I've been attacked and so has Heero. You think it's just someone targeting us Ex-Pilots?"

 

"I have no idea Duo." Quatre kept his voice soft, as he stared at the ground. "I just hope the person who's doing this is caught soon."

 

Duo nodded in agreement and ran a hand through his bangs. "At first I thought it was about Heero cause ya know the blind thin' right?"

 

"…Heero have some more tea." Quatre placed the cup on Heero's hand and yowled when it was thrown back in his face.

 

"Don't baby me!"

 

"I'm not ba-"

 

"You are!" Yuy roared towering above the small blond.

 

"I'm sorry!"

 

"Good." Heero sat down again and began stroking Baka's fur.

 

Everyone stared at Yuy, shock written on their faces. Although he couldn't see them he could feel their eyes on him.

 

"What?" He snapped, feeling irritable.

 

"Heero did you just have a hissy fit?" Duo was the only one stupid enough to ask the other boy.

 

"No."

 

"I think you did."

 

"I did not."

 

"Oh but I think you did."

 

"I DID NOT!!"

 

"Aack! Okay, okay…"

 

Heero stood and ran a hand along the wall, finding the door after a moment. "I am going to bed."

 

"Goodnight Yuy." Wufei called.

 

"'Night Chang."

Heero lay awake staring unseeing at the ceiling. "Why…Who…" He trailed off rolling onto his stomach and pushing his face into a pillow.

 

He snarled and went to turn around when he felt something prick the back of his neck. He felt his muscles become weaker and slowly he closed his eyes, falling into the cold darkness.

Wufei stripped to his boxers and then crawled into bed, closing his eyes. "God…Today was a long day." He muttered shook his head.

 

"Hey Chang."

 

He sat upright in bed and stared at the needle flying at him. It's slid into the side of his neck and he felt the warmth of it running through his body.

Quatre screamed as Rashid grabbed him, the big man tying him to a chair. "I'm sorry, Master Quatre."

 

"Why are you doing this?"

 

"Because…You need to be punished."

Trowa looked down at the rope he was bound with and heaved a sigh. "Greaaaaaaat."

 

***

 

Duo grinned lazily at Hilde. "Where did you wanna go?"

 

"Movies! I'll drive okay?" The blue haired girl asked softly, grinning widely.

 

"Yeah!" Duo nodded and stood up following her out to the car.

 

Only they never went to the movies.

All five pilots woke up at around the same time and looked around the room. Heero sighed, realizing he still couldn't see anything.

 

Relena stepped forwards. "You are all going to die now. You tried to steal him from us…"

 

Duo tilted his head up. "Who's him?"

 

Hilde smiled coldly. "He's the boy from the slave trade. You tried to take him away from us."

 

Dorothy nodded in agreement. "You did. I was there I saw."

 

Wufei's eyes widened. "You were the one who-"

 

"Blinded Heero...Yes I was."

 

"Bitch!" Wufei snarled and jerked forward trying to rip the woman's throat out.

 

Hilde smiled again and took a gun out nuzzling it gently against the side of Duo's head. "Say bye bye."

 

"Leave Duo alone!" Quatre cried out straining against the rope, trying to get to Duo so he could protect the other one.

 

"No. I want him dead."

 

Heero listened is horror as Duo yowled and a gunshot sounded through the air.

Heero sat up in bed, a cold sweat dripping down his body. He looked down at the peaceful sleeping face of Duo beside him and sighed, lying down.

 

"Baby what's wrong?" Duo raised his head and gave Heero a sleeping look.

 

"I had a nightmare."

 

Duo moved and rested his head on Heero's chest. "Tell me about it."

 

"I went blind and Hilde killed you…" He turned his head to the side.

 

Duo smiled and kissed his cheek. "Just a dream…Now go back to sleep."

 

Heero nodded. "I'll do that."

 

Heero smiled as he thought of his little braided one.

 

"Good thing it was just a dream." He muttered to himself, hugging Duo and falling into a blissful, dreamless sleep.
