Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Shinigamis Scythe ❯ Shinigamis Scythe- From Paradies Through Hell 2 ( Chapter 2 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Note: Since I forgot to say it last time, I'll say it now: The first chapter probably had'nt been possible without two very good friends of mine: Mimi and Foxi. Mimi helped me with the vocab with my two dictionarys and Foxi gave a helping hand over ICQ with the grammar. So, all of you readers out there, who read the first part and liked it, cheer for them!! ^-^. THX guys, thx a lot!

Oh, and I made a silly mistake with the mecha. Since austrian TV stations don't play Gundam Wing or anything interesting ( exept Escaflowne and Ranma), I can't really watch the episodes, and so I don't really know the equipment/ weapons of the Gundams. Sorry for that. Thx to the reader who saw my mistake and told me about it. ^-^

Sooo..enough with the talking…on with the story!

Shinigamis Scythe -From Paradise through Hell - Chapter 2

Heero was sitting on a bench in front of the hospital. Wearing a black leather jacket and a normal jean, he sat there, waiting. Then his clock peeped twice, signalising it was 1 o'clock - time to visit Duo. Although Duos words shocked him last time, he wanted to try it again. Thanks to this incident he knew now that he felt something for his braided comrade.

The japanese pilot entered the building and used the elevator to get to the wounded boy. While he was passing the nurse office he heard some things that caught his attention: a patient has vanished. All his things, as the guy himself, were gone. Left was a little piece of paper saying "don't worry. I know what I'm doing". Heero didn't think further of it. It wasn't his cup of tea. So he thought.

When he finally reached Duos room, he knocked on the door. No answer. Well, what could it be? He still ignores me, Heero thought. But when he tried to open the door he realized it was locked.

"Hey, nurse!" He shouted down the corridor.

"Either you come here, young man, or I'll throw you out. This is a hospital. The patients here need peace and quiet." The nurse answered roughly.

Heero murmured something japanese under his breath before walking over to the "onna", like Wufei would have said.

"I want to know why the door to my friend's room is locked" he asked.

"Well, usually we lock those rooms which aren't used. And that room is empty." She pointed down the corridor with a pencil she was holding in her hands.

"What do you mean `which aren't used'? I know that my friend was in there days ago. Was he moved into another room?" Heero asked, a bit worried.

"Well, if you mean Mr. Maxwell, we don't know where he is. He just left yesterday, though no one saw him leaving. He's just gone."

Heeros eyes widened in shock. So the nurses DID talk about Duo when he passed them. Shimatta, where did the baka go? Heero cursed himself. He should have known better.

What does Duo always say? Oh yeah, "I run and hide, but I never tell a lie". He ran, indeed. But whre did he run to? He was still wounded.

"Mister, is there something wrong with you? Hey, Mister." The nurse looked at Heero who stared at the floor, not moving and it seemed he'd stopped breathing.

"Hey, are you allright?" She stood in front of him now.

"Hu? Oh, I'm okay. But could you tell me, has he left anything in his room?" maybe he left something to let me find him, the Wing pilot thought.

"Uh, no. The room was empty, nothing there. There was just an old piece of iron or something in the dustbin. Oh, and an old piece of paper, looked like a newspaper."

The pilot looked up hopefully. Maybe those were hints Duo has made. Maybe. It could'nt hurt to try.

"Say, you still have those? Could I have them?"

"Sure, wait a sec." The nurse went into her office and came back with a black little piece of iron and the piece of newspaper.

"Here. There they are." She handed them to Heero, who already tarted to inspect the two things.

"Well, thanks. Good-bye." He said, already turning around and leaving the hospital. He didn't know why, but he just knew Duo left those two things just for him. Maybe he wanted to forgive Heero somehow. Hopefully he will, Heero told himself. But to inspect the "hints", he had to get back to the safe-house.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"WHAT?! Duo has vanished?? HOW?" Quatre nearly screamed at the Wing pilot. Heero just had got back from the hospital and informed the other pilots about it. The poor little blonde nearly had a heart attack when he heard it.

"Cool down, Quatre. I'm sure Duo is okay." Trowa tried to calm Sandrocks pilot, although the bad news shocked him aswell.

"He is. That's for sure. I think he left me something. But I'm not quite sure what it means." Heero said in his usual cold tone.

"What has he left you?" Now Wufei spoke. He just entered the room and caught Quatre's scream. That made Wufei curious.

"Well, I have to inspect it further. But it looks like a piece of iron. I'm quite sure it's no normal iron. Maybe some part of a machine.Oh, and a piece of an old newspaper" Heero added. His mind was very busy thinking about the whole thing.

"If you don't mind, I'll do that now. We can't lose the idiot as a pilot. Trowa, you inform the doctors." Heero looked at said pilot, who nodded.

Before Heero could leave to go to his room, Quatre stopped him.

"Say, what happened between you and Duo? You rushed out of his room when he woke up. What has happened in there? What did you do?" Quatre looked at him with a serious expression on his face.

"That's none of your businness. Now let me pass." Heero rushed pass Quatre, leaving the blonde boy, and the other two pilots, astounded behind him.

"Somethings stinks here. There's something wrong." Quatre said calmly. He was very worried about Duo, yes, but also about Heero. Usually Heero would'nt react like that.

Something was terribly wrong.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Inside his room, Heero leaned against the door, slowly sliding down. Finally he reached the floor and burying himself, burying his head between his legs. Why did Quatre had to ask him that? Why did he have to tear old wounds open? The boy suddenly made a fist.

"Ouch." Heero forgot he still held the iron in his hands. It was a bit sharp and dug into Heeros flesh, making a small wound. The pilot simply licked the wound clean and no longer thought about it. His whole Interest was now focused on the two things he got from the nurse: The black little piece of iron and the newspaper.

On the paper was an old chinese temple in the mountains and some text Heero couldn't read. The paper was from Arabia. Strange, he thought, how did Duo get that paper?

Nomatter how long he looked at it, he couldn't imagine what it could have to do with Duos current position. That baka wouldn't be silly enough to leave me a photo of his curent position. He's a baka, but not that stupid, Heero told himself.

So he switched his attention to the little iron piece. Holding it in his right hand, he turned it around in all directions until a little "drawing" caught his attention. It looked like this: ///_-. He had to smile. That looks a bit like Trowa, he thought. Then, the smile disappeared as fast as it had appeared.

He looked at the paper once more. A chinese Temple- that could be a symbol for Wufei. An arabian paper- Quatre. The drawing really looked like Trowa. And then - a black piece of iron. What if it wasn't iron, but - but a piece of Deathscythes cockpit?? It could have got caught in Duos hair while he was stuck inside it. That would be the piece symbolizing Duo himself.

But what does that mean? What did Duo want to tell him? Duo was indeed not stupid, Heero knew that by now. But how could he find the braided baka now? He didn't know what the hints meant. Heero was clueless. He needed… no, he didn't need help, so he thought.. He could do it himself. But what if it meant something else, what if he was wrong?

"You could have asked Heero. Why didn't you just asked me? Or is it that Perfect soldiers don't have to ask the lower people if they want something?" Duos word echoed in his mind. Hell, and he was right. No one would kill him if he asked for their help. They wanted to find him too at last.

It took him a lot of courage but he stood up again and left his room, heading for the living room where the other pilots sure would still be. When he entered the room, Quatre was still standing where he had been standing minutes ago, looking at Heero.

"Guys, I…." Heero wanted to finish but was interrupted by a loud voice from outside.

Automatically he looked for cover behind the sofa, getting his gun out and aimed at the door. After a few minutes it stayed quiet, and Heero slowly looked up. Nothing happened, and so he went to the door, opening it slowly. And his eyes widened in shock once more:

In front of the door was Wing, Deathscythe's scythe drilled through its upper body. In front of Wing lay the rest of Deathscythe, holding onto the scythe with one hand.

Shimatta, this was Duos work for sure! He had to be around, still. Or maybe not. He could have run in those minutes. Well, it couldn't hurt to try.

Without any warnings, Heero suddenly ran like a madman. He ran through the woods, looking for any sight of Duo. Suddenly he froze in his tracks. Right in front of him, on the moss which covered the ground, was blood. Spilled blood. Heero bent down and looked at it closely. Still fresh.

The japanese pilot looked around. He could'nt see anyone, but he suddenly heard footsteps. It sounded like someone was on the run. Duo!

Without thinking, Heero suddenly rushed forward, right to the direction from where the sounds came. If it really was Duo, then he would get him. The idiot was still wounded, he couldn't escape the perfect soldier.

But then, the pilot stopped again. He listened, and listened again, but the footsteps were gone. Shimatta, he'd lost him. Again. He cursed in every language he knew and headed back to the safehouse when something very fast pssed his head and fell right onto the floor.

"What the-?" Heero wanted to curse again, but shut up immediately. Right in front of him, stucking in an old tree trunk, was Duos favourite knife. The way it passed his head, it had to mean that Duo threw it. He had done that once, so Heero knew how it looked like when Duo threw a knife. Especially THIS knife. It wasn't really pretty or anything, but very sharp and very light. On its black blade was the word "SHINIGAMI" written in gold letters.

Heero remebered how happy Duo was when he showed him the knife right after he'd bought it during a mission on a colony. He had threwn the knife at him to show Heero how good he could do it.

The japanese pilot smiled at the thought. Duo was such a happy person. And he had destroyed it. He, the absolutely unperfect human destroyed Duos happiness! How could he dare.

A sudden thought came across Heeros mind. He took the knife and ran back to the safehouse, where the two Gundam were still standing. Heero had been to deep in his own thoughts that he didn't feel the pair of violet eyes that were looking at him.
