Chapter 1
"General Duo Maxwell, King Treize would like to speak to you."
Duo looked up, delicately pointed ears flickering slightly like a horses as he listened to the messenger's sentence. "Hm. Zrrolnka-niahlj[1], I'll get there in just a few minutes," he said, nodding his dismissal.
The boy saluted him and turned crisply on his heel, walking sedately away. "Oh, and boy!" he said suddenly, and the boy stopped and turned expectantly. "May I ask what this is about?"
The boy looked baffled, shrugging. "He didn't tell me," the boy said matter-of-factly.
Duo smiled, and nodded. "Zrrolnka-niahlj," he said, and nodded dismissal yet again.
"General!"
Duo looked up again as his Lieutenant stood at attention in front of him. "Klagh[2], Lieutenant?" he prompted.
The Kohmihn'dihn nodded, before stepping forward quickly. "Well, I heard there are a few----"
General!"
Duo sighed. |God dammit... How many interruptions am I going to get today| "Klagh?" he asked wearily.
"The King would like to see you *now*!"
Duo frowned worriedly at the anxious tone in the messenger's voice. "Klagh, I'm coming," he said, standing. "Czalneko'dhon-i[3], Wufei, but I'm afraid I'll have to get back to you later," he said softly, shaking his head as he looked apologetically at the Lieutenant.
Wufei nodded crisply. "I'll tell you later, General." He saluted once more, before bowing slightly, and turned and walked away.
Duo turned and leveled a mild glare on the messenger boy waiting for him, sighing and shaking his head again. "Lead the way," he ordered wearily.
The boy nodded and turned, walking away instantly and towards the Palace.
Finally they reached it, and the boy left Duo there. Sighing, he knocked once, then three times really quickly, and the door opened instantly.
"Ah, Duo!" Treize said warmly, smiling.
Duo swept his cap off his head, and bowed, sweeping it out before him, before straightening instantly and saluting him. "At your service, your highness," he said brightly, smiling.
Treize scowled, but he was definitely amused. "Duo, how many times do I have to tell you not to call me that?" he asked wonderingly.
Duo shrugged. "Until I get it through my skull," he replied, grinning.
Treize laughed softly for a moment, before he turned more serious. "Anyway, I've recently gotten reports of people just absolutely disappearing on the Southern border."
*Dalkn-ihndi[4]*?!" he yelped, startled.
My thoughts exactly," Treize said, sighing and shaking his head.
Meanwhile, a thousand possibilities were racing around his brain. And the top one was one that made sense, if... "What time of day are the vanishing during?" he asked, frowning thoughtfully.
Treize looked startled. "Um..." He bit his lip lightly as he seemed to think. "I believe during the noon hours."
"Aisdhalsh[5]," he muttered, so surprised he used Masz-d'ra instead of Shirhan. It was an odd habit of his. "How completely did they vanish? Were there reports of certain marks anywhere?"
Treize raised an eyebrow. "Hm, I'm getting the impression you have an idea as to what is going on here," he mused. "Anyway, they vanished completely, no blood or anything visible, and no traces of magic, not a sign of a struggle even. And there have been marks in the ground that look like some ancient writing, but no on there could decipher them."
Aisdhalsh, why did I have to be right..?" he muttered. The word "Shor-d'na" was screaming through his skull. "I know what did it, I'm not sure how, but it's an ancient race whose language no one has been able to decipher at all that was thought to be completely wiped off the surface of the planet long ago," he explained.
Treize raised his eyebrow higher. "Oh?"
Duo looked up and met his eyes. "Shor-d'na," he said.
"You were right: Dekno[6]," Treize stated absently.
"So what do I have to do?" Duo asked, leaning over the table and gazing down at the maps laid out on it.
"Well, I was going to have you and your troops go down there and find the thing that's taking all of those people and bring it back," Treize said softly, frowning. "But now I'm not so sure you'll be able to finish the last part."
Duo shrugged.
"We could always bring it back dead," he suggested.
Treize sighed. "Klagh, I suppose you're right..."
Duo stared at him for a second, frowning slightly. "Huh. Well I'll get my men together immediately," he replied. Saluting again, he grinned. "See you later." |Let's just hope I'm still alive when I get back...|
The Shor-d'na had a reputation for being quick as lightning and strong as diamonds, and practically invincible. Supposedly no one who had seen one had lived to tell about it. |Well, I'll just have to be the only exception to the rule,| he thought firmly as he stepped out of the King's office.
{A week later...}
"Heero, I am very pleased with your accomplishments."
Heero nodded slightly, only enough to show he'd acknowledged his ruler's statement. He was growing suspicious.
"Young man, you are required to respond to the lord's comments!" one of the ruler's advisers snapped.
Heero just regarded him calmly, fixing him with a cold stare, yet saying nothing. With satisfaction, he saw the man shiver, and he let a small, near-invisible smirk flit momentarily across his features.
"Nonsense, Lors-rhi, I care not," Zechs said, smiling slightly and shaking his head, dismissing the man's statement with a wave of his hand. His adviser began to fume slightly.
Heero smirked.
So, Heero," Zechs continued, and Heero looked up expectantly. "I have another mission for you. I've heard rumors that some of the king of Shirha's men are coming down here to find you." There was definitely a wicked glint to the blonde-haired man's eyes. "Your orders are to destroy them at all costs."
He nodded, having had a feeling that was what this little meeting was about. "Mission accepted," he stated, and Zechs nodded his approval.
Good. Now supposedly they'll be here by the end of tomorrow, and I want you to be there by the time they arrive," Zechs explained. "And I want you to meet and befriend them."
Heero raised a brow.
It's part of the plan," Zechs said, grinning slightly. "Now Heero, your taste lies more to the male side, am I correct?"
Heero nodded cautiously. |He's not planning what I *think* he is, is he?|
Good. I want you to make one of them fall in love with you, and you have to pretend to be in love with him, understood?" Heero nodded warily, not liking the evil glint in Zechs' eyes. "Good. Once you've accomplished that, I want you to kill them all, and leave them."
He blinked. Leave them? That wasn't something he usually did...
"And I want you to make sure everyone *knows* it was a Shor-d'na that did this."
His eyes widened slightly. Did Zechs have any idea what risks he was taking by letting people know it was a Shor-d'na that was making everyone vanish? "Explain," he snapped, scowling slightly.
Zechs grinned. "It's about time the world knows that Shor-d'na aren't completely wiped off the face of the planet," he replied, smirking. "Now, if you'd like to keep your reputation of completing every mission, you will do as I say."
And that was the final blow. Heero winced slightly, but nodded. |This is great...|
"Good." Zechs nodded, then smiled warmly at him, and made little shooing motions with his hands. "Now go, scat, get your mission going!"
Frowning, Heero bowed deeply, before turning leaving the room.
|What have I gotten myself into this time?|
{The next day...}
Heero mounted his gray stallion Wing gracefully, dressed in a fancy set of black and dark green riding leathers, his forest green cape fastened over his chest with an oval of onyx set in silver billowing behind him in the wind. He leaned forward slightly, stroking Wing's long neck fondly, before patting it and digging his heels into the horse's flank gently. "Ya!" he yelled, and the horse broke into a canter immediately.
They traveled for a couple hours, practically flying through thick forests as he urged the stallion into a wild gallop to make it in time to beat the group of soldiers arriving at Hawkspoint.
Eventually, he began to see the city's tall towers towering ahead, and as they broke out of the trees, he could see the fortress looming up ahead on the tall cliffs over the Laa-ni'r Sea. They paced through the gates, framed by the sunset, just before he saw a small cloud of dust on the horizon, and he sighed with relief. Nodding to the guard, he showed him a slip of paper, and was allowed through.
He dismounted, handing Wing's reins over to a stable hand. "If anything happens to my horse you'll be the first to regret it," he warned, leveling a death glare at him and scowling at the now nervous boy, before nodding curtly.
With that, he melted into the crowd gathering to meet the riders, and glared his way to the front to wait.
After a few more minutes, he could hear the pounding of a group of horses' hooves nearing. Listening carefully, he estimated there to be five of them. |Hmm...Not a very large group, should be easy enough to handle,| he mused absently, waiting for them to arrive, and deciding they'd prance through the gates any second now.
And the instant he'd finished that one estimation, the first of the group pranced gracefully through the gate. And it was all he could do to keep from gaping.
The man was beautiful, for there was no doubt he was male. Tall, well-built, muscled... Heart-shaped face, large, almost feminine violet eyes, cute tip-tilted nose, full, luscious lips... But what really startled him was the three-foot-long chestnut braid that fell down the man's back and trailed behind on the horse's rump. And he was definitely an Elf.
The next man through the gate was still attractive, but not as much so. Taller than the first, definitely well-built and muscled. But his face was more triangular----barely----and a lot harder. Narrowed bright green eyes, slit like a....Vampire's?[7] He took a closer look, and noticed a pair of short fangs as the man unconsciously licked his teeth. Hm... Yet his ears were pointed like an Elf's... |Half-breed?| He tucked that little tidbit of information in the back of his mind for later use.
A short blonde-haired person followed next, and if his outfit hadn't been so tight and his hair short, Heero would've sworn that he was female. His sapphire blue eyes were even larger than the first man's, his face was round and soft, and he had a bright smile on his face as he looked over the crowd. He, too, had Elven ears.
But as gentle and delicate as the boy----for boy he was, he looked around 80, which was young for an elf----appeared to be, Heero could see muscles under the tight shirt.
Following the blonde was another that reminded him of himself. The cold, calculating air around him startled Heero slightly. It was like seeing a copy of himself, with different coloring. His hair was a dark crimson and fell around his face appealingly and was pulled back in a short ponytail. The hard eyes were a startling shade of gold, and were slit, like the half-vampire's. |Hm... Must be a Masz-d'ra,| he thought absently as he ran his eyes over the muscled planes of his body, taking in the chiseled, triangular features much like his own except not *quite* as hard. Delicately pointed ears peeked out from beneath the wild hair. |Huh. I'll have to be careful around this one..,| he observed. Shor-d'na and Masz-d'ra were mortal enemies.
And last through was an average-sized man, with dark skin like his, black hair pulled back in a ponytail, that looked very comfortable with the sword he wore at his side. Triangular face, slightly up-tilted night-black eyes, and thin lips. But he was more thin, and more wiry than the rest. |La-an?! What the hell is a La-an doing in a group from Shirha? They're only native to Kohmihn'dih!|
Well, this was going to be a little more difficult than he'd thought... It was going to be hard to kill a group of men this handsome... |Aw, hell! Who am I kidding?! It's gonna damn near impossible!|
Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit..," he began to mutter under his breath. Some people stared at him oddly, and he scowled at them, his glare as icy and as promising of a messy death as he'd been able to muster so far. They gulped and shrank away slightly, leaving him standing with a wide berth between him and the nearest person in the crowd. |Okay...this...is not good.|
He felt eyes on him, and as he looked up, his piercing Prussian blue eyes met with a pair of startling amethyst pools. The man in the lead tilted his head curiously at him, before looking away, grinning and waving at the crowd. |Hm...Well he's certainly not trying to be inconspicuous... I wonder why? Surely he must realize the danger he could be putting his group in?!|
He frowned slightly, glaring at the ground, before looking up. And the La-an looked straight at him, and his eyes narrowed suspiciously as their eyes clashed.
Duo swung around on his horse suddenly, startling the crowd into taking a step backwards. His men were used to it, though, so they just looked up. All except for Wufei. Who was glaring at the same man in the crowd that Duo had spotted earlier.
Wufei!" he shouted sharply, and the La-an looked up, eyebrow raised.
He jerked his thumb in a gesture to let him know he was wanted up in the front of the line. Wufei nodded curtly, and urged his delicate horse Shenlong forward and towards him. As soon as they were next to each other, Duo glared at him. "What were staring at that man for?" he demanded, as they continued to travel towards the center of the city.
"There's something about him," Wufei muttered softly, frowning.
Duo's brow furrowed as he looked, not bothering to be discreet, at the blue-eyed beauty again, frowning in thought. "What do you mean?" he asked softly, looking away from the man and back at his Lieutenant.
"He looks Elven, correct?" Wufei stated.
Duo glanced at the man briefly, before nodding. "Rrolkj[8]?" he asked, eyebrow raised.
"He's not."
Both of his eyebrows shot up towards his hairline. "And how would you know that?" he asked skeptically.
"Well, look at him closely," Wufei said.
Duo grimaced, but looked at the man more closely. He seemed to notice Duo's scrutiny, because he looked up and met Duo's eyes boldly. And those eyes were cold and empty. And slitted. Beautiful, but just stark empty. Duo frowned and narrowed his eyes slightly. Wufei was right. Something was wrong about him. Scowling, he turned to level a glare that said 'explain, or else' on Wufei. "You're right, but care to elaborate?"
Wufei sighed. "Elves don't have eyes that empty or slitted," Wufei explained.
Duo gave him a 'well, duh!' look. "I'm aware of that," Duo replied dryly. "I am, after all, an Elf."
Wufei snorted. "I've noticed," he replied wryly. Duo grinned.
"Well, that's a relief," he said cheerfully.
Wufei cast his eyes skyward, before he grew more serious again. "I don't trust him," he informed Duo, who just scowled and sighed.
"Duo..," he said worriedly. "Just promise me you'll be careful if you ever see him again?"
Duo sighed, but nodded.
I run, I hide, but I never lie," he said proudly, nodding sharply. "I promise."
And Duo?"
"Hm?"
*DON'T GO FALLING IN LOVE WITH HIM!!!!*"
Duo jumped at the vehemence in Wufei's voice, and nodded vigorously.
Good."
Duo just glowered as they made their way through the city. But he instantly perked up as they neared their destination. "So...This place looks nice, eh?" he said cheerfully, looking around as his eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Duo, sometimes I worry about you..," Wufei said, shaking his head and sighing.
Duo raised an amused eyebrow at the La-an.
"Sometimes?" he asked incredulously, but his voice was tinted with amusement.
Wufei snorted. "It's my duty to protect you, General," Wufei replied formerly.
Duo narrowed his eyes as he scowled at him. "I swear, Wufei, if you ever call me 'General' again, I will have you drowned," he threatened, lips curl up in an angry snarl, and eyes wide and starting to glow slightly.
Wufei backed off instantly, hands up in surrender, a nervous expression on his face. "Okay, okay, *okay*!" [9] he spluttered frantically, if not a little reluctantly.
All of his men, and many of the others in the army, new better than to push when his eyes started to glow softly. He was an extremely rare breed of Elf. One that had been mixed with the Shor-d'na centuries before. And when they got angry enough, they could flatten the surrounding lands without trouble. The Slaznhi Elves were ancient and powerful, five times as much as so as normal Elves, which were formidable enough.
Heero moved through the shadows, as invisible and silent as the wind, as he followed the small group of soldiers. From parts of the conversations he'd heard----which hadn't been all that few, the leader of the group was named Duo. And it seemed his preferences lay in the direction of men, too. |Well, that makes it slightly easier...| And he'd found out the La-an's name was Wufei. |Yes, that definitely sounds Kohmihn'dihnese...|
And then Wufei said something that obviously made Duo angry, and Heero watched in amazement as the Elf's eyes started to glow a faint purple and Wufei's widened as he held up his hands in panicked defeat. |What in----? What *IS* he? Is he...? Can it be..? It's...It's impossible! He can't be a Slaznhi! They were long ago destroyed! ...Weren't they?|
Well, he figured since Shor-d'na were supposedly extinct, why not have the Slaznhi Elves be in existence, as well? |Well, Zechs out to get a start out of this one...|
Frowning slightly, he slipped into another shadow, unnoticed by any of the passing group. Then Duo looked up suddenly, frowning, turned in his saddle and stared in his direction.
|Uh-oh... That can't be good...|
"Duo? What is it?" the petite blonde asked worriedly, beautiful face creased in a worried frown.
Duo just ignored him, and on a precaution, Heero mentally cast a nearly undetectable spell that would hide him from anyone. Duo's eyes narrowed, slightly, and his frown deepened.
"Maxwell!" Wufei snapped sharply. "What *is* it?!"
Heero almost snorted, but caught himself just in time, knowing the slightest sound would give him away.
"Something's there," Duo replied softly, eyes narrowing even more.
|What was that magic I just Felt?|
Frowning, and eyes narrowing even more, Duo dismounted cautiously, frowning ahead of him into the shadows. "I Felt something," he informed the other three.
"Like what?"
Duo barely looked at Trowa, though he was slightly surprised that the man had said anything.
Absals[10]," he breathed, more to himself, as he found a trace of near-undetectable magic hanging in the air around him. "Powerful, yet subtle," he murmured.
"Maxwell, don't you think we should just get going?" Wufei sounded impatient. "We can come back later."
Whatever it is will be *gone* later," he snapped, whipping his head on around to glare coldly at Wufei. "Don't question me."
Wufei nodded slightly, masking his nervousness well, Duo noted absently with approval.
He turned his head again to stare suspiciously into the shadows. He vaguely Sensed someone----or some*thing*, he wasn't sure----in front of him, and then he felt another slight sturring of magic. It felt... familiar... somehow... He Looked with his other "eye," the magical one that allowed him to "see" any creature around him. He could see Wufei, Trowa, Quatre, and the horses, all spots of glowing green light, but in front of him... Nothing?!
Frowning even harder, he closed down on that "eye" so he could see the normal world around him, and stared harder into the shadow. Something didn't Feel right. And who---or what----ever was using the magic was good. |*REAL* good... One of the best I've seen so far.|
"Duo..? I...think we should go on now..," said a tentative voice behind him. Quatre. "The lord is probably getting worried now..."
Sighing, he turned and fixed the blonde with a mild glare, but walked up to his horse and mounted again. Turning in his saddle again, he frowned into the shadows once more, before sighing and urging his horse forward. |I'll come back later, and hopefully those traces of magic will still be here... If they are, I'll trace them back to their owner. If they're not... Well. I'll have to try and ignore it.|
Heero let his breath out slowly as the group starting prancing off towards the palace, and after a few moments, started following them again, sliding silently from shadow to shadow. Wufei, the La'an looked up suddenly, and stared in his direction as a frown turned into a scowl on his face, before shrugging slightly.
|Huh, maybe I'm not as undetectable as I *THOUGHT* I was... Oh well.| He shrugged mentally.
:Why, is my little perfect soldier admitting to not being perfect?:
The mock-innocent tone to Zechs's mocking Mind-voice was enough to make him shudder. But he clamped down on his body's reaction instantly, knowing how such an action would give Zechs fierce pleasure.[11]
:And what if I am?: he replied calmly, obviously taking the older man by surprise. Frowning slightly, he noticed that Duo had stopped his group and had turned to stare in his direction again. :Look, Zechs, this isn't the best of times to start...talking to me,: he thought, frowning even harder as the rest of the group turned to stare towards him. :They seem to have sensed my presence.:
:Well then, I'll just leave you alone,: Zechs replied, the sweetness in his voice disgusting.
As soon as Heero was sure Zechs had left his mind, he heaved a mental sigh of relief. Then frowning, he realized that each of the group had dismounted and was walking slowly towards him. |Aisdhalsh!|
With a start, he realized they were holding a mental conversation.
:Okay, Quatre, I want you and Trowa to go to the right over there and sneak up on whatever is there from that side,: one of them was saying mentally. He realized that the voice sounded like a more hollow version of Duo's. :'Fei, you will approach from the left, and Kess and I'll do it from the front.:
:Uh, Duo, don't you think we should try to sneak behind it somehow?: said another voice. He recognized it as the blonde's.
:Cjhal-sque[12], Quatre, but it's kind of hard to sneak behind something when you don't know where it is,: the braided-boy replied wryly.
:Heh, good point...: The blonde sounded decisively sheepish.
Smirking slightly, he sunk into a crouch, ready to spring. As soon as they were an arms-length away, he let out a blood curdling battle cry, jumped, unsheathed his katanas, crossed them over his chest and flipped over them, all in one move, landing silently behind them and facing them.
Duo jumped as he heard a bloodcurdling cry, and shuddered slightly. He was so unnerved he barely noticed the form flip over him, but when he did, he whirled and unsheathed his two long daggers. He stared in surprise----and not a little awe----at the silhouetted figure in front of him. |Holy shit, that guy is fast!| Something about...him? Her? It? Yeah. Something about it was oddly familiar.
"Who are you?" he demanded softly.
The person didn't reply, but he could see the silhouetted head tilt slightly to his right, as if contemplating him. Frowning slightly, Duo sent a mental message to the rest of his group. :Okay, on the count of three, we all attack----:
:I wouldn't do that if I were you,: said a new voice in his head.
The entire group let out startled "Huh's?" simultaneously. How had it heard them?
"I said, I wouldn't do that if I were you," came the reply, this time vocal. And Duo gulped slightly as he heard the voice. Deep, rich, and slightly husky. And it made him shiver slightly.
Deciding to ignore the person's statement, he frowned slightly, tilting his head in the same direction as the man in front of him. For man the silhouette definitely was. The voice was too deep to be female. "Why were you following us?" he asked curiously, not really caring.
The man radiated amusement. "Confidential information," was the cold reply.
Jeez, as far as *Duo* could see, this guy never let any emotion into his voice.
Wufei was definitely angry. "Look, buddy," he snapped. "My Ge----eh, Maxwell here just asked you a question!"
There was a soft, contemptful snort. "Don't you have to go visit the lord?"
The mocking tone to the words just served to anger the La-an even more, but before he could do anything, Trowa stepped in.
"Actually, Duo, he's right."
Duo looked at Trowa, startled slightly, before he contemplated the taller man curiously. Nodding slightly, he turned and frowned slightly at the silhouette in front of him, before turning and walking to his horse. Mounting, he turned in the saddle and raised an eyebrow at everyone else.
"Duo?"
Quatre looked worried. Duo just pointed to their horses with his chin, then glared at them pointedly. They all sighed in unison, before stepping up to their horses and mounting.
Duo raised an eyebrow pointedly at the silhouette. "I'm trusting you not to kill us as we leave," he said softly, before turning his back pointedly and urging his blue-black mare into a sedate trot.
He frowned at Kess, who was glaring quite viciously at the form, before shrugging. He'd have to ask him about that later.
Duo let out a sigh of relief when they finally finished the stupid little conference with Lord Nhorg-wa. The guy was old----ancient, really----smelled *extremely* bad, was barely understandable, and was definitely completely drunk. |And *man* was he hitting on the wrong age of people! That was just *nasty*! I can't believe he was hitting on me!| He shuddered slightly as he remembered the looks the lord had been giving him. |Okay, Duo, time to stop thinking of that...|
Yes, it was *definitely* time to stop thinking about that. So... What to think about?
Ah, yes! The man he'd seen in the crowd! |*Dekno,* was he gorgeous!| And it wasn't just the type of subtle beauty, like Wufei possessed, but the stunning type that made you do at *least* three double-takes. Slightly triangular face, with perfectly proportioned nose; fully, pouty, yet luscious red lips; stunning, piercing, arctic, yet beautiful Prussian blue eyes, that seemed so sad; thick, messy chocolate brown hair that hung into his face mysteriously, yet in a seductive way that made him want to drool, yet looked silky and soft; and golden skin that was much darker than his own... |Klagh, definitely drool-worthy,| Duo thought firmly, nodding his head sharply, even as he felt himself growing hard. |Shit, that ain't good!|
Nervously, Duo looked around to see if any servants were around to see him, and sighed in relief as he stepped into his quarters. |Good. I might end up jumping any that look good.|
He turned around, and saw Wufei sitting patiently on his bed, nodded and then turned. Blinking, he turned and stared in surprise at the La-an, who seemed amused at his double-take. "Wu-man!" he exclaimed, startled. "What are you doing here?"
Wufei just smiled mysteriously and stared at his obvious erection. "What do you think?" he asked softly.
Duo blinked, before laughing softly. "All right," he sighed.
Wufei took that as his cue, for he stood up and walked over to the Elf, gently stripping him of first his jacket, then his tunic, followed by undershirt. Kneeling down, he pulled of Duo's boots, before reaching up and began undoing the laces on his breeches, and then pulling them down to pool around Duo's ankles. Smiling ruefully, Duo kicked the breeches away, before turning and gazing thoughtfully at Wufei.
Slowly, he reached for the jacket laying on Wufei's shoulders, but the Kohmihn-dihn man just shook his head, and grabbing Duo's outstretched hand gently, pulled the younger man----Duo----towards him and gently pushed him down so that he was laying on the bed.
Then he shrugged the jacket off his shoulders, before climbing onto the bed to kneel between the braided man's thighs, and slowly lowering his head to the tip of the hard flesh at the junction of them. Duo cried out as Wufei suddenly deep-throated him, his hips bucking off the bed as he gripped the sheets. He could feel Wufei's tongue dancing up and down his shaft, the La-an's sharp teeth occasionally grazing along his engorged flesh. Wufei's mouth found its way up to the head, and a long tongue darted out to lap at the moisture gathering in the little hole in the center, before lowering slightly. Duo's hips bucked as he cried out, Wufei's teeth grazing slightly along the flesh just below the teeth. After a couple minutes of exquisite torture, Duo let out a loud cry and emptied himself into Wufei's wet mouth.
The La-an didn't even give him a chance to recover. Even as Duo was trying to regain his breathing, he felt a lubed finger slide easily into his hole, and he gasped as it started stretching him slightly. Then another finger was entered, and yet another as Duo began to have trouble breathing. Wufei's fingers were searching for something, probing around in his depths...
"A-ah!" he cried, as Wufei's long fingers rubbed deliberately against his prostate. After a couple more moments of stretching, Wufei's fingers left him. He whined desperately, but then felt something thicker nudging at his entrance.
As Wufei's lubricated cock began filling him, a keening wail, which grew in pitch and volume as he was slowly filled erupted from his throat. Finally, Wufei stopped moving, his hip bones pressed tightly to Duo's round globes. Duo tried desperately to get him to move, to get his muscles to loosen so Wufei *would* move.
"Please, 'Fei!" he whined. "Do it!"
It was then that Wufei started to pull out, exiting his hole until only the head was embedded in him, before thrusting forward fast and hard. A strangled moan clawed its way up Duo's throat and out of his mouth as Wufei began a series of powerful thrusts that carried them both higher towards the edge. Duo's back arched as the Kohmihn-dihn hit his pleasure center precisely, and he screamed hoarsely. And as Wufei's hand wrapped around his member, his world erupted in an explosion of white, and he released himself all over Wufei's chest. Dimly, he heard Wufei call out, and felt him empty himself in Duo's depths.
Smiling, slightly dazed, he gazed up thankfully at the lieutenant as he pulled out. "A-zrrolnka[13], 'Fei," he murmured sleepily. "You don't know how much it means to me when you do that." |Although it *is* kinda freaky how he always knows when I'm aroused...|
Wufei nodded as he pulled his clothes on. "Any time, Maxwell," the man replied coolly, but there was a definite affectionate edge to his words as he smiled, before turning and leaving.
Duo watched sleepily as the door closed, before he snuggled down under his covers and fell into sleep.
As Wufei stepped out of Duo's chambers quietly, he blinked in surprise to see someone in the hallways. And was even more surprised, and growing protective, as he realized it was the fake Elf they'd seen in the crowd earlier that day. The man didn't look at all surprised to see him; in fact, he just stared impassively at him.
"What are you doing here?" he demanded coldly as he moved to block the door into his General's chambers.
The man just stared at him, eyes narrowed slightly. And then Wufei took a closer look at the outline of the man's hair, and he scowled angrily. "*You're* the one who was following us earlier today," he stated icily.
The blue-eyed man looked slightly impressed, before shrugging nonchalantly. "So?"
"What are you doing so near Duo's chambers?" Wufei demanded coldly.
A slight tilt to the head was the only reply he got. For a moment. "I could ask the same of you," was the man's reply.
Wufei scowled darkly. "He's my General. And it's my job to comfort him when he needs it," he replied coldly.
An amused tilt to the eyebrows. "That's why I heard all those noises, right?"
Left eyebrow tilted. "Klagh. He needed comfort in that area," was Wufei's reply.
"Ah."
Eyebrow rose higher.
I don't believe you."
A shrug. "So?" Wufei replied. "I don't care. I'll do anything for my General, and that's one thing I'll do without hesitation."
:'Fei? What's goin' on out the'?:
Wufei was startled slightly by Duo's sleepy mind-voice. :You know that bastard that was following us? Turns out it was the same guy that was in the crowd,: he replied mentally.
:Oh?: The voice sounded slightly more awake.
:Yeah. And he's standing out here.: All this went on in a couple of moments.
:Hold on, I'll be right out.: Duo was definitely awake now.
"Gods dammit Maxwell!" he muttered loud enough for the Elf to hear him. The man in front of him blinked slightly, looking slightly startled. Wufei heard laughter from the other side of the door. "Go back to sleep!"
The door opening was his only reply. Sighing, he turned to scowl at his friend, raising an amused eyebrow slightly at his attire. The man was dressed in a loose pair of black pants that hung so low on his hips Wufei could see his hip bones. And he wasn't wearing anything else.
Duo crossed his arms over his chest as he gazed emotionlessly at the man in front of both of them. "Heh," he said suddenly. "That's why he seemed so familiar." |To himself, I bet,| Wufei thought absently. "Well, buddy, now that you've confused the hell out of me," Duo said conversationally, "what the hell are you doing outside of my rooms?"
The man blinked slightly, the only sign he was startled. "Actually, I wasn't aware that these were your rooms until now," the man replied coolly.
Wufei glanced at Duo to gauge his reaction to that statement, and was suitably impressed at the only slightly changed expression. Duo had just raised an amused eyebrow. "Oh, right... Yet, you were still stalking around out here," he retorted. Then he looked at Wufei. "He...*was*...stalking, right?"
Wufei choked slightly, but nodded, trying to hide his amusement. Duo just grimaced at him, before nodding sharply at the secretive man in front of them.
Then his head tilted slightly to the right. "What's your name, anyway?" he asked curiously.
The "Elf's" eyes narrowed suspiciously. "What's it to you?" he snapped.
Wufei bristled at the tone the man was using towards his friend, but as he looked at Duo, the Elf only looked slightly amused. "Eh, whatever," Duo sighed. "I'm going to bed now. See you in the mornin', Wu."
Wufei glowered at him. "It's Wu*FEI,* Duo," he snapped.
Duo just grinned, before turning and walking back into his rooms. Wufei shook his head for a moment, before turning to glare at the fake Elf, arms crossed over his chest and foot tapping irritably on the floor as he waited for him to leave. "Well?" he demanded after a few minutes had passed. "You leaving or not?"
The blue-eyed man scowled, but turned sharply on his heel and stalked silently away. After a few more minutes, Wufei nodded in satisfaction and walked to his quarters.
The next morning, Duo woke, feeling pleasantly sated, and he stretched, letting out a huge yawn. Grinning as he felt warmth envelope him, he let himself indulge in a luxury he really did. Smiling, he snuggled even farther into the covers, pulling the pillow over his face. He tensed slightly as he sensed another presence in the room with him, and scowling at the loss of sleep this would cause him, peeked cautiously out from under the pillow.
Narrowing his eyes when he didn't see anyone, he scowled darkly. "I *know* you're there!" he called out loudly. "Now get out before I force you out myself."
There was an amused snort from somewhere to his left. "*Would* you now?" came a sarcastic reply.
Duo frowned as he recognized the voice, and throwing the pillow to the side, scowled darkly at the man he'd seen last night. "Klagh, I would," he snapped. "Just...Let me get dressed, would you?"
The man snorted in disgust.
Duo scowled.
"Well, at least now I know you have no sense of humor," he muttered softly, sitting up so that the down comforter pooled in his lap. He eyed the man with disdain. "You know, I'd rather be *alone* as I get undressed!"
The man just turned his back. Duo stared at him in disbelief, and crossing his arms over his chest, refused to move until the man had left the room. "I'm not moving until you leave, and if you want to talk to me, I'd rather do it dressed," he snapped icily.
"I'd leave, but I have a feeling that guard of yours would try to kill me," came the slightly amused reply.
"Guard?" he asked, puzzled. "*What* guard? I *have* no guard!"
A slight shrug. "The one that was in your rooms last night."
Scowling with disdain, he picked the covers up a bit to see if he was wearing anything. Seeing he was wearing the pants he'd put on to go outside his quarters the night before, he stood up and stalked to the door, opening it angrily. Wufei jumped, and whirled to salute him. Duo scowled at him as he shifted his weight to his left leg and crossed his arms over his chest, studying the La-an for a moment. "Ya know," he said calmly. "You could have stayed last night if you were so worried about my safety. It didn't really *work* though, now did it?"
Wufei looked confused, and with a sigh, Duo opened the door wider and stepped slightly to the side so his lieutenant could see the man standing in his room. Wufei's eyes widened indignantly, as well as slightly with anger. "What the hell?" he snapped.
Duo shrugged, turning to frown at the fake Elf that was now looking around the room intently. "Stop memorizing my quarters," he snapped irritably. The man blinked, looking slightly surprised, and not a little peeved. "Don't know," he said to Wufei. "Woke up and he was standing in my room."
"I am on a mission," the man snapped.
Duo just raised an eyebrow. "Uh... Right. Whatever." Duo tilted his head slightly to the side as he regarded the man coolly. "You know, you never *did* answer my question."
He looked confused. "What question?" he demanded suspiciously.
"I asked you what your name was last night," Duo replied patiently. Those beautiful eyes narrowed suspiciously. |Hm... Suspicious when asked his name, sneaks around and follows people at night, before appearing in their rooms the next morning... Sounds like your everyday assassin to me,| he observed mentally. |But why is he after us? Or more accurately: Me?| "Well, buddy, I don't know why the hell you are out to kill me, but I like to at *least* know my enemy's name!" he said suddenly.
The assassin blinked in surprise, and Duo saw with amusement the appalled look on Wufei's face. Then the assassin's face hardened and his chin rose imperiously. "Heero Yuy," he said arrogantly.
He blinked, surprised that the man had actually given him his name. And that was his real name, Duo was sure of it. |Wait a minute... Heero Yuy? That was the name of the first Shor-d'na!| Narrowing his eyes, Duo studied the "Elf" in front of him, trying to figure out why he was named that. |Hm... Thin, yet muscular, tall, slightly triangular face like most Elves...| "Well..," he managed after a moment. "It's not every day the gods decide your death will lie in the hands of a Shor-d'na..."
Wufei's head whipped around and the Kohman-dan stared at him in bewilderment. Heero's head had snapped up and his eyes narrowed. "I'm surprised I'm not dead yet," he murmured softly, oblivious to them.
He looked up and realized Wufei's eyes had widened to saucers, and while his mouth was working, his vocal chords obviously were not. "A-a-a-ahlkol[14]?!" he exclaimed finally, voice thick with surprise.
Heero blinked, and stared at the man in front of him. |How the *hell* did he figure that out?| he thought, bewildered. |Very few people even *know* about the original Heero Yuy! Even *Zechs* doesn't know!!| He shuddered mentally as images of Zechs filled his mind. Not that the man was unattractive, he was just...creepy, somehow. |Hn! I'd like to see what *he* feels like when it's *him* on bottom!| He blinked slightly. |Where the hell did that come from?!|
Blinking slightly, he realized that Duo's current attire was taking its toll on him. And what an undesired response he was having to it... Those pants were *really* making him hard. Gulping slightly, he tried----to no avail----to quench his body's reactions. |Damn! This isn't good...| Scowling, he glared at the offending pants, before turning his head. |I can control my breathing, heart beat, but *nooo* I just *can't* control my body's reactions to a gorgeous man's body!| he thought in contempt.
Sighing, he walked towards the window he'd entered the room through, when a voice stopped him.
And just *where* do you think *you're* going?"
Turning slightly, he scowled at the braided man in front of him.
"Back to where I'm staying," he replied coldly.
Duo's fists came to rest on his hips as he glared at him. "*No*, you're *not*," he snapped. "*Not* until you tell me why you're following us." He paused for a moment, his head tilted slightly to the side. "Or at least why you snuck into my room and didn't kill me."
Heero just snorted. "Like I'd tell you that," he muttered.
He glanced at Wufei, who was looking like he was ready to kill him. Quickly a plan began to form in his mind.
Duo scowled at the man in front of him. |The *nerve!* He actually thinks I'd let him go before he told me *why* he was even *here!*| Duo was watching the man closely, so when the man's posture relaxed slightly and grew slightly seductive, Duo didn't miss it. |What the hell is he doing?| he thought in confusion. His eyes narrowed suspiciously at the nearly undetectable smirk the man was wearing, and as he looked at Wufei from the corner of his eye, he could see the deadly rage burning in the lieutenant's eyes.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, and Heero went absolutely...still. He just stopped moving. It looked like he wasn't breathing.
Frowning slightly, he shrugged, turned, and opened the door a crack to see who it was. Grinning, and shaking his head, he opened the door a little further, but not far enough for them to be able to see Heero. "You know, you could've knocked, Quat, Tro," he informed them good-naturedly.
Quatre smiled, then tried to move passed him. Scowling, he stepped in the way. Quatre just looked puzzled, but Trowa began to glower at him.
"Are you going to let us in or what?" he demanded.
Uh..." Duo nibbled on his lower lip as he turned to frown into the room. Wufei was watching him curiously, while Heero still seemed to be absolutely motionless. Except this time, his eyes were watching him earnestly. Before they had been slightly unfocused. Sighing, Duo turned back and, rubbing the back of his neck, nodded slowly. "Just... No death threats, all right?"
Now both Trowa and Quatre were looking puzzled. A little nervously, Duo stepped away and let them come into his room, before closing the door softly after him. He turned to find Trowa and Quatre staring in surprise at Heero, before turning in sync to stare at him questioningly. "Eh...Woke up, he was standing in my rooms," Duo explained nervously. He really didn't want a battle going on in his rooms.
Quatre turned to look oddly at Heero, before smiling and offering his hand in welcome. His smiled faltered slightly when Heero just stared unblinkingly at his hand, before dropping it and letting his smile crumble. Trowa just glowered at Heero. Sighing, Duo shook his head. "Heero, this is Quatre and Trowa," he muttered tiredly.
Heero just stared at him, not blinking at all, and Duo started to feel slightly uneasy under the unwavering stare. "Eh... Right..."
Looking at Trowa from the corner of his eye, he saw the single visible green eye narrow protectively at Heero, who was still staring at him. He could see Wufei bristling, and Quatre was frowning slightly as he stared at the man. After another few moments of uneasy silence, Heero nodded sharply and looked away to frown at Wufei's scowling form. As Duo stared curiously at Trowa, the man turned and stared silently at him. He burst out laughing. "Yes, Trowa, he does know how to talk," he replied to the silent question. Quatre stared them in surprise, Wufei in chagrin, and Heero in skepticism.
Laughing softly and shaking his head, he turned to gaze curiously at Heero. "So. Are you goin' to tell me why you're here or not?"
Trowa and Quatre turned to stare at him in surprise. He shrugged nonchalantly.
Quatre frowned slightly at this so-called "Heero." The way he had been looking at Duo was making him uneasy. Biting his lip slightly, he called up his empathy, trying to see Heero's emotions. And he nearly staggered at the weight of them.
Whoever this man was, he certainly knew how to conceal his emotions extremely well. The hatred, anger, grief, and self-discrimination nearly crushed him under their weight. But what really worried him was the lust he found swirling together with those other emotions, and the same instant he realized that the hatred, anger, grief and self-discrimination were not directed at them, he realized the lust was directed at Duo.
Scowling, he strode angrily over to where Duo stood, leaned over, and whispered in his ear, "He wants you in bed," so softly that Duo actually had to strain to hear him.
As he pulled away, he noticed with some satisfaction that Duo looked slightly taken aback, before he turned and leveled a glare on Heero. The entire room was silent as everyone slowly turned to stare at Duo. Then a predatory gleam washed over the Elven features for a moment, before Duo turned, stared at Heero, and smirked.
And then Quatre saw the gleam in his eyes with more than a little fear. Those eyes had turned mischievous, sly, mock-innocent, yet knowing all at once. And the last time they'd had that gleam in them, Wufei's swords had been painted bright pink, and Trowa's hair had mysteriously turned puke green during the night.
Obviously Trowa and Wufei had seen it too, because he wasn't the only one to have backed up into the wall as far as he could. They nervously watched Duo for any signs that they would be at the receiving end of his mischief as Duo's chin slowly rose as the gleam grew absolutely wicked. "Bring it on," Duo then said, the tone in his voice causing the other three of his group to freeze instantly.
"Heero..," he, Trowa, and Wufei said simultaneously. "I hope you are extremely capable of taking care of yourself."
And then they all turned and fled.

{A week later...}
|What have I gotten myself into this time?|
{The next day...}
Heero mounted his gray stallion Wing gracefully, dressed in a fancy set of black and dark green riding leathers, his forest green cape fastened over his chest with an oval of onyx set in silver billowing behind him in the wind.
