Chapter Three

Sighing in bliss, Griffin slid further into the unusually warm water of the spring they'd found. The hot-spring was steaming, scalding hot, just the way Griffin liked it. The young major of the Nahri-mar forces was perfectly comfortable nude in front of his entire group. They were all males. Nothing any of them hadn't seen before.

Scowling as a shadow fell over him, he looked up into a pair of cold yellow-white eyes. Slitted eyes. Blinking slightly, he stared at the girl in front of him. "Can I help you?" he asked, blinking.

"Yeah, you can," the girl replied. Her eyes narrowed coldly. "I hear you're looking for a Shor-d'na. I think I can help you."

Eyes narrowing, he glanced around. "How'd you get past my men?" he demanded suspiciously.

The girl shrugged. "They let me through," she replied calmly.

Blinking, he glared hard at the girl. Scowling, he stood up abruptly and wrapped the towel next to the hot-spring around his waist, before storming off in the direction of his men. "Nanosh! Balo! Tshurkurka! Kalderasha! Rambo! Simionce! Troka! Aladar! Rajko![1]" he shouted, storming into the group circled outside the entrance to the hot-spring. Hands on narrow hips, he glared at his gypsy guardians. "Why'd you let her through?" he demanded.

"She said she was a Masz-d'ra," Nanosh replied, shrugging. "We thought she might be able to help us."

"*SO*?!?![2]" he exclaimed, eyes wide and horrified. "You *trusted* her?"

"Obviously," Aladar replied wryly.

"Soske?[3]" he demanded.

They all blinked. "Uh..."

Sighing, Griffin shook his head and turned to stare at the girl. "Tell me your name and what's in it for you and I might decide to let you stay," he ordered, sighing. Shaking his head, he sat down, completely forgetting he was wearing only a small towel as covering.

She was eyeing him with satisfaction, apparently liking what she saw. "My name's Vkahli," she replied, chin lifting arrogantly.

Left eyebrow lifting in slight amusement, he eyed her. "There a last name to go with that?" he asked, amused.

She frowned, eyes narrowing suspiciously.

Rolling his eyes, he shook his head. "Never mind. I have a feeling you're not going to tell me," he said, shaking his head. "So. What's in it for you?"

"Nothing," the girl replied, shrugging. "Just the satisfaction of killing a Shor-d'na."

Blinking, he stared at her, slightly startled. "Uh... Right. Sure," he replied, staring at her oddly. "Uh..You... Yeah, you can come..."

The rest of the Pralipe[4] were staring at Vkahli, too. Suddenly, he realized he was still clad in only the towel. "Dammit!" he muttered, standing up and storming back towards the hot-spring to get his clothes.

Pulling them on, he turned around as finished tying the laces to his breeches, to find himself staring into the same pair of strange yellow-white eyes. Scowling, he glared at her. "Would you quit doing that?" he snapped. "It's creepy."

Turning his back to her and muttering to himself, he frowned. Something about the Feel of her aura was familiar. Almost like his own. Frown deepening, he turned and studied her. "You said you're a Masz-d'ra, right?" he asked, eyes narrowing as he puzzled over this. At her nod, his frown grew. "Then why do you seem so familiar?"

She shrugged. "You an Elf?" she asked, left eyebrow raised.

"Yeah..," he replied cautiously.

"Probably Mordra," she replied, shrugging. "They were formed when - centuries ago - a Masz-d'ra and an Elf fell in love, got married, and had a child. Pretty much like the Slazhni Elves, except not with Shor-d'na blood - fortunately for you - but with Masz-d'ra."

Blinking, Griffin stared at her. "Oh." Shaking his head in disbelief, he turned and walked away to store this information.

A pair of violet eyes followed the barely dressed form in front of him intently. They had decided they wanted to go swimming in a lake far back in the woods that they'd found when riding together. And Kess was currently striding around the lake as he undressed, making sure there was nothing they could get hurt by. And he was definitely deliberately putting on a strip show.

Gaze riveted to the gorgeous body of his new lover, he felt himself grow rock hard as the older man began to pull his leather pants down his slender hips, swaying them a little more than needed. Scowling, he stood up, tore his shirt off, and as he untied the laces of his breeches, he stormed over to Kess and grabbed him, crushing their mouths together.

As Kess's tongue demanded entrance to his mouth, he moaned softly and melted against him, wrapping his arms around the strong neck. After a few tongue-sparring moments, Kess pulled away for air, an amused expression on his face.

"What was that about?" he asked, smirking.

Hands on hips, Duo glowered at the man. "You were teasing me."

Kess blinked innocently. "My dear, whatever are you talking about?" he asked, voice innocent.

Amused, Duo snorted. "You know what I'm talking about," he muttered, shaking his head.

Kess smirked, before grabbing him, yanking his breeches down his hips and off him, and picked him up and tossed him into the water, all in the blink of an eye. Duo let out a surprised shriek as the water closed around him, before fighting his way to the surface. Shaking his head to get all water out of his eyes, he glared at the Masz-d'ra. "What the hell was that about?" he demanded in disbelief.

Kess smirked, shrugging, before diving into the water gracefully. Duo's eyes widened appreciatively at the spot where Kess had dove into, and he felt himself hardening further. |God... The guy's gorgeous!|

Suddenly, he felt something brush past him under water, and fearing the worst, he froze, ready to make a run for it. Er...Swim for it. But as something erupted from the water behind him, he found himself getting pushed under again. Blinking as he found himself staring into water, he kicked himself back to the surface, whirling to glare at Kess as he sputtered.

"Would you quit that?" he snapped, scowling as he treaded water.

"Chrinsals-as[5]," Kess replied, looking as if he was trying not to laugh. He didn't look the least repentant.

Smirking, Duo slithered over to him, wrapping his arms around his neck and his legs around the slim waist. "I don't think you are," he breathed into Kess's ear, before sucking the sensitive flesh into his mouth and running his tongue along it in broad sweeps.

"Aah..," was Kess's only response for a moment, before his head fell back slightly. "What would make you think that?" he hissed in reply, hand snaking around Duo's waist to the juncture of his thighs. Duo's head fell back and he let out a breathy moan as Kess took his now turgid erection into his hand, slowly pumping it, causing the Elf's eyelids to flutter closed.

And here he and Kess were, in the forest, in a lake, apparently about to make love. Not that Duo minded, oh, definitely not! He felt like he was in love with the Masz-d'ra. Which was impossible of course, but it still felt like it...

Groaning in ecstasy as Kess sped up the pace of his hands, he gripped the powerful biceps, thrusting his hips against Kess's. "Aaah... Gods, please... Kess...," he groaned, head thrashing back and forth.

Kess smirked, scooping him up in his arms, before walking calmly out of the water and laying him down on his back. The instant he touched, his back arched sharply, and he gasped, still feeling Kess's fingers around his throbbing flesh.

Suddenly, Kess's head dipped down, and his tongue slithered over the sensitive flesh below his cock. He cried out sharply, taken by surprise, and he snapped upwards to stare down at Kess in surprise. Then the tongue slid further down, before circling around his entrance hotly.

Duo's eyes widened as the sensations raced through him in little electric shocks up his spine, before he arched again, breathing catching in his throat. And he nearly screamed when Kess's tongue slid inside his entrance.

He *did* scream, however, when the same tongue left quickly and entered within a second, and his legs clamped around Kess's head as he unconsciously rode the clever muscle, feeling it swirl around inside him, preparing him for what was obviously coming. He started thrashing about, desperate cries leaving his mouth, as he began begging Kess for completion.

And he reached it as two of Kess's fingers slid into him abruptly, replacing the tongue that had deserted him a mere split-second prior.

With a shout, he shuddered violently as he released himself all over his stomach and Kess's head.

As soon as he caught his breath, Kess was kneeling between his legs, a wicked gleam in his eye that, had he had his sense, would have made him nervous. But instead, and with an eager whine, he wrapped his legs around Kess's waist, heavily lidded eyes dark (almost black) with desire, begging Kess.

Kess smirked down at Duo, knowing fully well how badly Duo needed this, and how much it was tormenting him that he wasn't doing a *thing*. Slowly, making sure his hardness dragged along Duo's flesh the whole way, he positioned himself at the sweet entrance of the man he wasn't quite sure he *wasn't* in love with.

The Elf's eyes were begging him, pleading him to finish what he started, even as Duo arched mindlessly from the sensation he'd caused while positioning. He paused, waiting, look growing even more wicked and a smirk forming on his face.

After another moment when he hadn't shown any signs of moving, Duo let out a loud wail of impatience.
And he suddenly filled Duo with a sharp thrust of his hips, shoving himself inside the body he so loved. Duo let out a *loud* scream of pure lust with not the *least* amount of pain in it at all.

Duo didn't get a chance to adjust either, for Kess immediately pulled out and thrust back in even faster than before, enjoying the screams of rapture Duo was exhaling, loving the feel of Duo's silky channel as it contracted around him.

He knew he'd never be able to get enough of the feeling of making love to Duo; he craved it, needed it like he needed air.

He thrust faster, wanting Duo to climax before he did, and the friction he created built up as Duo slammed back against him unconsciously as he screamed mindlessly, incoherently.

Kess was warm all over, feeling the familiar heat burning in his loins, as he kneeled between Duo's spread legs, arms braced on either side of the Elf below him, slamming into the warmth of his lover.

He felt the ripples of climax rush through him suddenly, and desperately, he clasped Duo's cock in his hand, stroking the throbbing flesh roughly in time with his thrusts. Duo's eyes snapped wide open, unseeing as they stared up at the tree-tops, before his body arched like a taut bow, and with an elongated scream of Kess's name, emptied himself all over his stomach and Kess's chest, before he fell to the ground, shuddering violently.

Kess's head flew back as Duo clenched almost unbelievably around him, and with a loud groan of Duo's name, shuddered as he sprayed the insides of Duo's bowels. With that, he collapsed at Duo's side, pulling the Elf on top of him.

Quatre sighed, turning the page of the book he was not exactly reading. His thoughts were elsewhere, resting on a certain green-eyed, brown-haired pilot with longs bangs, slitted eyes, and fangs. |He's so gorgeous..,| he mused silently, pretending to read the book in his hands. |I just wish he was actually interested in me...|

The book was actually one that didn't lay within his range of interest, being a book about some ancient philosopher named Odin. He'd died hundreds of years ago, but his "legend still lived on," as many people would put it. Not that Quatre cared. He'd just pulled the nearest book off a shelf, walked out of the library, and into his rooms to pretend and read it.

Blinking and startled, he looked up as there was a knock on the door. Well, it obviously wasn't *Duo*, because he wouldn't have knocked...He'd just have shouted at the tops of lungs that it was him. |Not like anyone would have figured it out, anyway...| "Who's there?" he called.

"Trowa."

The reply startled him into silence. Opening his other "eye" he saw it was indeed Trowa. "It's unlocked, you can come in," he replied, setting the book aside as his door opened and Trowa stepped in. His slitted eyes rested instantly on the book.

Eyebrow raised, his glance moved to Quatre himself. "I wasn't aware that Philosophy was one of your interests," he said, eyebrow lifting higher.

"Uh..It...It is," he replied, startled and glancing around nervously.

"Ah." Trowa's face and voice were, as usual, devoid of expression, but his eyes held a small portion of doubt in their depths.

"So anyway," Quatre said, "what did you want to...?"

Trowa was looking around for a seat.

"You *can* sit on the bed, you know," Quatre informed him, slightly amused.

Trowa blinked slightly, before sitting down silently on the bed. "Actually, I wanted to ask you something," he said, glancing around the room intently.

Quatre blinked at him, wondering why he was looking around so avidly. And his empathy wasn't helping him figure out what Trowa was here for, either. He seemed to have a block around his emotions. A shield of some sort. |Hm. That's interesting...| "Really. What would that be?" he replied, eyebrow raised cautiously.

"Uh..." Trowa was frowning, looking like he was trying to figure out how to say something. Quatre blinked at him. He'd never thought about what he was going to say so hard, before... |Must be important..,| he mused, head tilting. The vampire finally sighed, shaking his head. "Okay. I"ll warn you, this might come out wrong..."

Quatre blinked at him, confused. "Uh...That's...all right..."

"Right. So..." He frowned, still trying to put words together. "God dammit!" he exploded after a moment, exasperated. "Quatre, are you straight?" he asked, sounding annoyed with himself.

Startled, he shook his head.

"All right. Do any of us interest you then?"

"Uh..!" Startled, he just stared at Trowa. "Well, uh, yeah, I think, I mean..."

Trowa just blinked at him. After a moment, Quatre just nodded, not able to get his voice to work. What was Trowa getting at here?

Trowa looked slightly nervous, now. "Who?" he asked, and Quatre could feel some nervousness rolling off him, even through the shield blocking his emotions.

Now suspicious, Quatre's eyes narrowed as he eyed Trowa. "Why?" The only person who seemed to not know was Trowa. Who was the reply to the question he'd asked.

He thought he could see a slight reddish tint to the high cheekbones on Trowa's beautiful face. "I was just curious..."

"Uh...Right..." His very tone conveyed doubt.

Trowa glowered. "Dammit, Quatre, you're *not* helping!" he snapped, looking quite...pissed.

Quatre blinked. "Excuse me?" he asked, startled.

Trowa grimaced at him, green eyes narrowed.

Suddenly, Quatre remembered a conversation he'd had with Duo a few months before.

/Duo had sat down next to him with a thud, looking a little put off.

Quatre'd raised an eyebrow at him, amused. "Why, hello to you, *too*," he'd said. Duo had glared at him sideways.

"Don't start with me, Quat," he'd muttered.

"What's up?" he'd asked, curious.

Duo had heaved a huge sigh. "Kess is what's up," he'd muttered. His eyes had grown wistful and he'd stared off into space for a moment. "I keep throwing myself at him, but he doesn't seem to *notice*!"

|Oh, he notices, all right,| Quatre had thought, amused. "Huh. Mind if I give you some advice?"

Duo had blinked, and stared at him for a moment. "Depends on what it is," he'd replied after a moment, carefully.

Quatre had rolled his eyes. "Just tell him how you feel, Duo," he'd replied, smiling.

Duo had eyed him pointedly. "Huh. Maybe you should follow that advice *yourself*, Quat," he'd said, smirking.

Quatre had blinked at him. "Huh?"

Duo had grinned, laughing outright. "You gotta tell Trowa, sometime, you know," he'd replied.

And then he'd gotten up and left./

Quatre frowned slightly, eyeing Trowa. |It's either now or never..,| he thought. |But...Can I do it?|

"Trowa, I need to tell you something," he said suddenly, startling Trowa; the other man blinked at him. Taking a deep breath, he met Trowa's beautiful green eyes. Then, before he could back down, "Trowa, I... I think I love you." There. He'd said it. He let out a huge sigh of relief.

Looking up nervously, he nearly gaped with surprise. Trowa's face had lit up like the sun, and he was smiling brightly down at him. "I was trying to tell you the same thing!" the taller man replied, laughing softly, before reaching out hesitantly.

Quatre needed no encouragement. He threw himself into Trowa's welcome arms, burying his face in the muscular chest. He felt Trowa's arms close around him, pulling him closer to him, before Trowa's face in his hair.

He smiled slightly, breathing in Trowa's scent. It was intoxicating.

And together, they fell back onto the bed.

And through a large area of the castle, screams of exquisite pleasure could be heard.

{3 days later...}

Wufei scowled, trudging through the rain and muddy streets. |*Damn* those four!| he thought angrily. Kess and Duo, and Trowa and Quatre had been screwing like rabbits constantly. They never stopped! And for one thing, he had no one. No significant other. |Not since Kess and Duo got together..,| he grumbled mentally. |I guess I should be happy for them, but...| He sighed, hunching his shoulders a bit more. |And Duo makes enough noise to wake the dead! Quatre's loud enough for you to hear him half-way across the castle, but Duo's *twice* as loud!| And Kess seemed to like encouraging Duo to be as loud as he possibly could, whenever possible!

He sighed, kicking a stray rock.

A horse near-by whinnied. Blinking, he looked up, startled. A group of riders were making their way down the street. There were about 11 of them, and among them all, only one was female. She was tall, appeared about his age, with eerie white-yellow eyes, pale green hair that hung in her face in an appealing way, with a wiry build that resembled a Masz-d'ra's. Frowning, he took a closer look at her eyes. Slitted. She was a Masz-d'ra.

The rest of the group were all men, most of them very unappealing, and had the look of a Nahri-mar to them. But the obvious leader of the group made Wufei blink. And look again, sure he had imagined something. And stare.

He was beautiful! Silky black hair that reached just past his shoulder blades, incredible silver eyes[6], a wiry yet lithe build, average height, creamy skin... Wufei blinked.

And the group seemed to be looking for something. The leader noticed him, looking slightly surprised for a moment, before he grinned and nudged his horse forward instantly, looking like he wanted to ask something. "Excuse me!" the man said once he reached him.

Wufei just looked up at him, eyebrow raised.

"Could you lead us to the palace?" he asked. Then he faltered. "That is...if you're not busy..."

Wufei sighed and turned, frowning at the large bulk that was the castle. He didn't really want to go back there so soon. He was sure Kess and Duo wouldn't be done yet.

:I heard that!:

He blinked, staring at the castle incredulously, startled at hearing Duo's voice. :Huh?:

:We're finished, and so are Quatre and Trowa,: Kess's voice said in his head.

:Ah...Uh.. Lhkorani-gho[6],: he sent back, startled. Turning, he nodded at the leader of the group, before he reached out and gently took the leader's reins in his hand. He glanced at the man to make sure he didn't mind.

He could feel the Masz-d'ra's eyes on his back. He was likely the only one in the group who did. Turning, he frowned at the Masz-d'ra. "You can stop staring at me," he snapped. She seemed startled that he had noticed.

:Masz-d'ra may be pretty secretive and undetectable when staring, but I have been in the same army squad as one for the past three years,: he informed her mentally, even as he turned and led them in the direction of the castle. :So don't bother trying to hide your watching. Anyone of the men I'm with that you meet will know instantly.:

:Why is there a Masz-d'ra in that group?: Kess asked him mentally, suddenly.

Wufei frowned. :Were you snooping in my head?: he demanded.

:No, I wasn't, but it would be good payback!: Kess snapped, obviously irritated. :I was actually just looking out the window and I sensed a Masz-d'ra near where you were!:

:Yeah?: Wufei growled. :Well, I dou-:

:Don't Wufei,: Duo interrupted hurriedly. :His eye is twitching[7].:

Wufei blinked, glancing nervously at the window he could just see Kess and Duo staring out of. He apologized instantly and profusely.

"My name's Griffin."

Startled, he just turned his head and stared at the leader of the group blankly. He blinked. Right. "Oh. My name's Wufei," he replied automatically. |Wait a minute! Why the hell did I just tell him that?!|

"Wuuuuu-maaaaaan!!!"

Wufei froze. And groaned. Duo was in his "Let's Annoy Wufei!" mood again. And it was very unlikely that Kess would stop him. Then he blinked. The cry hadn't been mental.

Looking up, he saw Duo skipping towards him, a wild grin on his face, with Kess following closely behind, eyeing Duo's bottom appreciatively the whole time. :Kess, you are ecchi[8]!:

Kess just looked up and smirked.

By then, Duo was in hearing range. "What the hell do you *want*, Maxwell?" he growled, glaring at the man. "I'm trying to get these people to the castle. And how the hell did you get out here so fast?!"

Duo just smirked smugly. "That's for *me* to know and no one else to," he replied in a sing-song voice.

Kess cleared his throat.

"Except for Kess, of course," Duo amended quickly. Then he turned and gave Kess a look that Wufei didn't see, but obviously made Kess brighten slightly. Wufei just sighed and rolled his eyes.

Duo chose that moment to turn around and eye Griffin oddly. Griffin was staring at Kess and Duo, obviously wondering what was going on between them. The green-haired Masz-d'ra was eyeing Kess and Duo appreciatively. |I wish her luck getting into either of their beds,| he thought, amused. |They'd more likely sleep with the lord of this castle than with a woman.|

He gritted his teeth, feeling a mental "tugging". :Get the hell out of my head!: he roared mentally, whirling to glare accusingly at the Masz-d'ra. She looked *extremely* surprised. :I don't appreciate it when people do that! If you want to know something, just *ask*!:

Kess snorted, eyeing him dubiously. Wufei glared at him. "Were you snooping in my head, too?" he demanded. Kess just eyed him pointedly. The smirk on his face just screamed "payback!"

He sighed. "Why do I put up with this?" he asked himself.

Duo just smiled mysteriously at him. Wufei blinked. Griffin was looking from him, to the Masz-d'ra, to him, to Kess, to Duo, and back, looking bewildered.

Sighing, Wufei decided to inform him. "*She*-" he began, pointing at the female Masz-d'ra, "-was snooping in my head, so I yelled at her. And then he-" he pointed at Kess "-was *also* snooping in my head."

Griffin blinked. "Oh."

Duo bounced up to Wufei, gazing curiously up at Griffin. "Who are you?" he asked, blinking innocently like a child.

Wufei groaned. "Such wonderful use of tact, Maxwell," he muttered. Duo just grinned at him.

"Ah...I'm Griffin," the man replied.

Duo blinked. "Oh! My name is-*Kess*!" His sentence ended in a gasp.

Wufei blinked at Kess, who had appeared suddenly behind Duo, pressed himself up against him from behind, and licked his ear. Griffin was staring at them, startled by the public display. Wufei planted his face firmly in his hands, before he tried to pry Kess off Duo, but he backed away, panicked, when Kess's eye started twitching slightly.

Duo's eyes widened for a moment, as Kess breathed something in his ear, so softly that Wufei couldn't hear what it was, before he nodded vigorously. Then he looked apologetically at Griffin. "I'm sorry, but Kess says that if I want any-Ouch!" He glared at Kess, who had clearly bitten Duo's neck a little harder than necessary, but then melted back against the other man as Kess began to gently lick the bite-mark. "I can't tell you my name," he said, breathlessly. He looked truly apologetic.

Wufei rolled his eyes, exasperated. "Oh for the gods' sakes!" he erupted. "His name is Duo and that is Kess!"

Kess kicked him in the shin. Hard. "*YEOOOOWWWWWWCH*!" he yelped, bending instantly to rub it tenderly.

Kess's glare said more than words. "You're just lucky we're in public," it screamed at him. He then whispered something in Duo's ear.

Duo's eyes widened again as he shuddered violently, his pants becoming instantly distorted, and with a silly grin on his face, he nodded vigorously, waving cheerfully as Kess scooped him up in his arms and carried him off down an alley. Griffin just blinked.

Wufei sighed, grumbling to himself, but continued leading the group to the castle.

"*KESS*!"

The scream of pleasure made everyone but Wufei turn and stare in the direction they'd come. Sighing, Wufei shook his head. "Ah...If you ever hear anyone scream the names Duo, Kess, Trowa, or possibly even Quatre in that tone," he said slowly, "just ignore it."

Duo screamed as Kess plunged into him again, his head hanging as he braced himself against the wall. He was begging Kess for more, harder, faster, all at once, completely oblivious to anything but Kess and his body and what it was doing to his. Each drive into his body felt better than the last.

This time had hurt at first, because they had no lube and Kess hadn't felt like waiting to prep him (not like Duo had *either*, but...), and had just slowly pushed into him.

Now, Duo was panting loudly, gasping for breath as his body was ravaged by his lover. The roughness of the penetration Kess was giving him now was incredible!

His eyes widened, before they rolled up in his head and fluttered shut as he felt Kess lean forward and take his shoulder in his teeth, before driving in violently. He screamed again, louder than before, before he screamed for more of the rough treatment. Kess had never taken him like this before! So rough, and primal, and violent...

His screams weren't separate anymore, either, just one prolonged one as he felt Kess shoot in and out of him, no doubt covered in blood. But Duo didn't care.

"Oh gods!" he sobbed suddenly, feeling Kess take him in his hand and pump him in time with his now violent and completely brutal thrusts, before he screamed the Masz-d'ra's name.

"*KESS*!" he screamed loudly, head flying back as the red-haired man broke the skin with his teeth. His entire body convulsed as his cock twitched, spraying come everywhere. Kess followed a moment after, not as loudly, groaning deeply.

Duo panted, amazed at the act he'd just experienced, before taking a deep gulp of air to soothe his burning lungs. Slowly, he carefully opened his eyes, realizing Kess had collapsed onto his back. He gasped again, relieved when the replenishing of air eased the pain in his lungs; they'd gone *far* too long without supply.

"Kess?" he asked breathlessly, voice barely above a whisper and raspy as hell.

Kess groaned, shifting slightly, and Duo hissed, biting his lip. *Now* it hurt. A *LOT*.

He felt Kess tense up in alarm. "Duo? Are you all right?" he asked worriedly.

Duo blinked, not sure himself. "I...I think so..," he said hesitantly. "I...think you might have to carry me back to Palace, though..."

He could feel Kess frown from where his face was buried against Duo's shoulder. Then Kess slowly, gingerly, slid out of him and turned him around, hands on his shoulders and eyes narrowed in concern. "I didn't hurt you, did I?" he asked.

Duo blinked again. "I...I'm not sure," he said, puzzled. He *felt* fine, except for the fact that his ass felt like it had been ripped apart and sewn back together by a lion. He didn't realize he'd said that out loud until he realized Kess looked like he was debating about killing himself. Actually, he didn't even realize it then. "Kess?" he asked softly, confused.

"Duo, I...I'm sorry," Kess murmured, pulling him into his arms and burying his face in Duo's hair.

Duo blinked, startled. Then he broke out grinning. "Eh, don't worry about it," he replied, laughing softly. "That was amazing." He glanced down, seeing them standing there, wrapped in each other's arms, pants around their ankles. "We should get going though."

Kess pulled back, blinking slightly as he looked down at himself, before smiling slightly. "Yeah."

They pulled their pants up, before walking back towards the capital, Duo leaning on Kess heavily the whole way.

Wufei stared with growing horror at Griffin, mouth open and eyes wide as he gaped.

He talked as much as *Duo*! He hadn't thought it was even *possible!*

The Masz-d'ra, Vkahli, he'd learned her name was, was glaring quite blackly at the Elf. "*Howell*," she snapped suddenly, patience obviously disintegrating. "Shut *up.*"

Griffin just continued to talk right over her, not even noticing she'd spoken.

It was then that Duo and Kess walked in.

He blinked, eyeing them curiously. Duo was leaning heavily on Kess, looking as if he was in extreme pain, and Kess kept glancing at his lover worriedly.

Curious, he sent a mental question to Kess. :What's with Duo?:

:No lube,: was the immediate, short but to-the-point answer. :Or prep.:

Wufei stared at them, eyes wide and mouth gaping. Were they *insane*?!

He then noticed how Kess was eyeing Griffin with amusement, apparently at how much he could talk.

"Clha[9]!" Duo exclaimed, straightening slightly and grinning as he noticed Griffin talking. "It's a *miracle*! I found someone who can talk as much as me!"

Griffin shut up in mid-sentence and blinked at Duo, confused. "Huh?"

Kess snorted, leaning down to pick up Duo, knees over his left arm and shoulders over his right, before walking coolly over to a chair. Duo smiled softly, snuggling against Kess's chest, curling up against him as Kess sat down.

Wufei's eyebrows creased in contemplation as he watched the two of them. He had a definite feeling they were absolutely smitten with each other, though didn't realize it. Even if he hadn't been able to see they were soul mates, he would have been able to sense it just from the way they acted around each other. They were totally radiant; for Kess it wasn't as obvious, but if you looked closely, you could see it. But Duo was always smiling around him.

He sighed softly, leaning back in his chair, wondering if Duo could have, in time, learned to love him; he knew *he* could have learned to love Duo. You just couldn't help but love him. But they looked so happy together...

Unknown to him, however, Griffin had noticed his sudden change in mood.

Griffin frowned, wondering what was wrong with Wufei.

The man had been cool, somewhat horrified at his speech capabilities, but suddenly it had all changed the instant Kess and Duo walked in. He'd mellowed, become solemn, and then an air of sadness had settled down over him like a storm cloud.

He looked up as someone with bright sapphire blue eyes and pale white-blonde hair walked in, looking around with a small smile on his face. The blonde's eyes fell on where Kess and Duo were sitting, and the smile that played on his face grew in volume and amusement, eyes sparkling with mirth.

"Ckral-quonl[10] Duo, Kess, Wufei," the blonde stated politely, nodding to each of them, before his eyes drifted curiously over Griffin and his group, before returning with a snap to Kess and Duo. "Trowa said he'd be down in a moment or two."

Duo looked up, a wide grin on his face. "Did he actually *speak* when he said that?" he asked, eyes wide and blinking like a child's. "Or did he just sit there, say nothing, but still convey what he was trying to say?"

The blonde laughed lightly, the smile growing further. "He actually *spoke* Duo," he replied, sighing and shaking his head in amusement.

Griffin blinked, wondering at the conversation. It seemed a little odd...

He glanced at Duo when he saw the man move suddenly, turning in Kess's lap to stare into his eyes with his head tilted. "Kess? I know I just said it... But what does convey mean?"[11]

Griffin's eyebrows shot up to his hairline, startled into silence. He glanced curiously at the blonde - whose name he had still yet to learn - when he heard a muffled...giggle? He blinked as he realized the man was *definitely* giggling. He glanced at Kess, who just snorted at Duo, shaking his head.

Then the red-head sighed, shaking his head. "'Convey,'" he started, face impassive and expressionless as a rock. "To communicate or make known."

The blonde was *really* giggling now, face turning red as he leaned against he nearest chair, holding his stomach. He glanced at Kess again, amazed to find the straight face still there. His brow creased in puzzlement, glancing at Wufei to see what he was making of this.

The La-an, as he'd learned he was, was currently banging his head against the oak table he was sitting at.

He blinked.

What the hell?

This was the scene that a certain long-banged Vampire walked in on as he stepped into the room.

His ice-cold, emerald green eyes swept coldly over the group assembled before him, and Griffin felt that same desolate chill pass through him that he had when he'd first felt Kess's gaze on him, just not at the same magnitude. Kess's air of icy control and impassiveness was stronger than this oddly banged man in front of them now.

And the ice-like eyes only softened when they passed over the blonde, warming like butter melting in the sun, before hardening as they left, and softening a little again as the passed over Kess and Duo, this time in amusement.

The blonde looked up sharply, eyes lighting up like a bonfire as he saw the newest addition to Griffin's "Who the *hell* are they?!" list. "Trowa!" he exclaimed, bouncing up and practically skipping over to where Trowa was standing.

<Well, there's *one* less person on the list..,> he thought absently, watching the two of them.

"Chang."

The sudden cold, harshly snarled word dropped into the air stopped all conversation instantly. Everyone turned to look at Kess, who had started frowning at Wufei.

Wufei's head snapped up from the table as he turned to stare at the red-haired man. "Aa?"

"Stop wallowing in misery," Kess snapped, eyes frozen. "I don't know what the matter is, but you'd better get your act together."

Griffin blinked, taken aback by the harshness and cruelness of Kess's words to Wufei. The guy was a grade A bastard! He glanced at Duo to see his reaction, and was even more startled to see him nodding sadly.

"Cjhal-sque[12], Wu-man, but I have to agree with Kess," Duo said, tone sad but matter-of-fact. "As much as I hate to say it, he's right... We can't afford to have you feeling sorry for yourself."

Wufei hadn't looked at all startled by Kess's criticism, but he'd looked taken aback when Duo had spoken up. Which meant Kess was most likely always like that.

He frowned slightly, studying Duo and trying to figure out why he was so obsessed with Kess if that was the way he always acted. And he felt that icy chill run down his spine again, and glanced up to see Kess staring at him, eyes dead and flat, colder than ice, with a frown marring his features. His eyes unfocused for a minute, yet he still managed to stare at him in an oddly eerie way that made Griffin uneasy, before they refocused and the cold look was replaced with an impassive one.

Puzzled, Griffin stared at Kess, wondering what had just happened.

Huh. He'd have to ask someone about that later.

Vkahli's eyes kept sweeping over the group of five in front of them, taking in every nuance and detail she could pick out from the way they acted. She really didn't like the Masz-d'ra that was seated in front of here, though. He was too cold.

Even for a Masz-d'ra.

Masz-d'ra, in their language, translated into "One of Ice." Which was why they were so cold and aloof. But Kess... He was too much so. Masz-d'ra felt emotions, but were extremely adept at masking them with indifference and masks. But another Masz-d'ra could still detect one's emotions! Yet she could detect *none* of his.

It was uncanny, even for her.

She glanced sharply at Duo when he moved suddenly, a surprised look on his face, turning to stare oddly at Kess. "Kess? Why is Thlayber here?"

Kess blinked down at him, obviously perplexed.

|Finally! A real emotion from him!|

"Aszdor?" Kess demanded suddenly, leaning forward and eyes wide. "*Who's* here?!"

"Your sister!" Duo exclaimed, looking just as surprised as his...lover?

"What *are* you two to each other?" she asked suddenly, leaning forward as she locked her eyes on them, interest, for once, caught.

They both looked up at her sharply, startled. "Dalkn-ihndi?!" they demanded simultaneously, appalled.

"I asked-"

"I *know* what you asked!" Kess snarled, interrupting her angrily.

|And yet *another* emotion!| she thought with glee.

"I just don't see how it's any of your business!" he continued, eyes burning with an almost visible fire. She blinked in astonishment when she noticed his left eye was twitching.

Duo, the blonde, Trowa, and Wufei apparently noticed it, too, but their reactions were less positive. They looked panicked. But then Duo got a wicked look in his eye that she wasn't quite sure she liked, leaned forward, and buried his face in Kess's neck. And he did something that made Kess's eyes glaze over, his head fall back, and his mouth to go slack. She stared at them, startled, especially when Kess's hips bucked and he let out a loud groan of ecstasy.

"All right, all right, break it up, you two!" Wufei shouted, standing up suddenly and walking over to yank Duo away from Kess.

Duo gave Wufei a dirty look, before he sat down with a plop in Kess lap again. Kess, however, gave Wufei the dirtiest look she had *ever* seen in her life, before he wrapped his arms around Duo's waist and leaned his head down to nuzzle his shoulder, lapping at it like a cat at milk.

Well. Now she knew what they were to each other...

"*KEEE~EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESS*!"

Her head snapped to the doorway as a figure bounced in, and she barely got a glimpse of curly, waist-length red hair and a pair of glittering red-gold eyes before the figure had bounced over to where Duo and Kess were.

The woman froze in place, blinking rapidly at Duo. Her eyes darted from Duo to Kess and back continuously for a moment, before she clapped her hands with glee and a wide grin turned her face into a sun-bright picture of glee. Then she glared at them for a moment, hands on hips. "Well it's *about time* you two got together!" she chided, shaking her head. "What *took* you so long?!"

Kess had stopped nuzzling Duo to glance up at this red-haired bundle of Duo- and Griffin-like energy, eyes wide with shock. Duo was gaping at her.

The entire room was silent for a minute or two, before Kess blinked. His expression grew perplexed. "Thlayber?"

"I was getting *really* tired of watching you to dance around each other, too afraid of rejection to make your interest known," she replied, scowling at them. "I'd call you a coward-" Kess bristled, eyes blazing at the prospect of being called a coward, and Duo's face darkened considerably[13], "-but that doesn't describe you. You're not cowards. You were just..."

"We get the *point*, Thlayber," Kess gritted through clenched teeth.

Vkahli was fascinated, watching the interaction between brother, sister, and brother's lover. She'd never seen anything *like* this!

"And would you *stop* staring at us?" Duo snapped suddenly, eyes hard as he glared at her. "It bothers me."

At last phrase, she got the darkest look she'd ever *seen* from Kess, partially because of the fact that *Kess* obviously didn't like being stared at, but from what she could glean from it, mostly because Duo didn't.

This was getting *extremely* interesting...

"So. Have you found the Shor-d'na yet?" Thlayber asked, eyes glittering with the prospect.

*This* time, Kess didn't look up from nuzzling Duo's shoulder, which was eliciting some very *deep* groans from Duo as he writhed in Kess's lap.

And briefly, Vkahli wondered who was dominant in their relationship.

Because even as Kess was nuzzling Duo, Duo was sucking on Kess's ear, and she could quite visibly see Kess shuddering in reaction to it.

She glanced at Wufei as he moved, admiring his lean figure, the way his muscles rippled under his skin as he moved... She blinked as she realized Griffin was doing the same thing. Then she shrugged. Men will be men.

"Yes, actually, we *have* found the Shor-d'na," Wufei replied, licking his lips thoughtfully. "And it appears it will be harder than we thought to kill him."

Thlayber glanced at the Kohmihn'dihn curiously. "How so?"

Wufei hesitated, glancing at Duo oddly for a moment, expression unreadable. "Well... Not only does he seem *extremely* elusive, he's able to nearly disappear without notice, but..." And he glanced at Duo *again* the same worried frown on his face. "But Duo... He...seems to have taken a liking to the Shor-d'na."

Vkahli was on her feet a split-second after the last word had left Wufei's mouth, eyes blazing.

Her sudden movement had startled Kess and Duo into looking up, and while Duo looked somewhat worried at the look in her eyes, Kess's eyes were narrowing.

"Amsnisrasr[14]," she hissed, advancing on the couple.

Duo bristled, knowing the term, and opened his mouth to say something, but he was suddenly on the ground with Kess in front of him, two rorsna[15] Ehesaxrashni[16] drawn in front of him, crossed over each other, and she stopped in her tracks, her single Srashnxi[17] half-way out of its sheath, as she saw the look in Kess's eyes.

And with wide eyes, she backed up hastily, not liking the "touch him and you die in a way you'll have nightmares just thinking of it" look in his eyes, and sheathed the rest of her Srashnxi.

Kess eyed her blackly for a moment, then as his eyes went unfocused, she felt a bare trace of something "reading" her soul, before his eyes refocused on her, and the snarl of burning rage on his face disappeared to be replaced with a warning look so explicit she nodded vigorously just to get it off of her. With that, Kess turned around and helped Duo up, before sitting back down in the chair, and Duo plopped down in his lap.

And watching the two of them together, Vkahli found it very hard to believe they weren't Soul-Mates.

And she wondered, briefly.

Would *she* ever find hers?

1.allRIGHTY then! all of these names are actually Gypsy names. ^.^ I did a little research on the language and culture, and looked for names, considering I need to *know* some of them before I could name the characters. right? ^.~
2. "so" I believe (if I remember correctly... o.O) is "what" in Romani (Gypsy) and is pronounced like we'd pronounce *our* word spelled the same. (ya know... "so"?)
3. "soske" is "why" in Romani. pronounced soh-skay
4. "Pralipe," I believe (o.O) is Romani (NOT Romaji! which would be the "language" of things like Japanese except in English letters. anyway) for "brotherhood." don't really remember, considering I've been working on this chapter for about... half a year. ¬.¬
5. chrinsals-as (SHREEN-sawls-aws) "forgive me" in Masz-d'ra
6. lhkorani-gho (zhohr-AY-nigh-GOH) "thank you" in La-an
7. heh. -.- I know it sounds funny, but when I get *really* angry (like when my friend Lynne tells me Lucifer is my friend Jen's but not MINE... Lucifer, by the way, is from Angel Sanctuary... ::drool::) my eyes starts twitching. (¬.¬') so I got this idea for Kess. except when *his* eyes starts twitching, hell is to be paid. ^.^
8. ecchi, for anyone who doesn't know much Japanese, is basically Japanese for perverted, I think... o.O not sure exactly. someone help me here?
9. clha (KLAW) "hey" in Shirhan (the only reason Duo talks mostly in Shirhan is because I have yet to start working on the Elven language... ¬.¬')
10. ckral-quonl (KRAWL-kohn-uhl) "hello" in Shirhan
11. ::cough:: *I* don't do this... what are you *talking* about? ::eyes dart around nervously::
Ethri: ::sweatdrop::
12. cjhal-sque (KZHAWL-skay) "sorry" in Shirhan
13. aszdor (AWZ-dohr) "what" in Masz-d'ra
14. dalkn-ihndi (DAWL-koo-naw-EEN-dee) "what" in Shirhan
15. to most races in this world, calling someone a coward is one of the most insulting things to say. it's
especially insulting to Shor-d'na, Masz-d'ra, Elves, and La-an
16. amsnisrasr (awms-NEES-raws) "traitor" in Masz-d'ra. being called a traitor, to the same races listed
above, is also one of the worst things, and is often considered a challenge to the death
17. rorsna- a mixture of bronze, copper, iron, and steel that only Masz-d'ra know how to make exactly
18. Ehesaxrashni (AY-hay-sawks-RAWSH-nee) A Masz-d'ra weapon similar to a katana, except the blade
is razor-sharp on both sides. They are usually made out of iron or copper, some out of bronze, but the
occasional rare, nearly-indestructible one is made out of rorsna. They are usually a millimeter thick, but
are practically unbreakable.
19. Srashnxi (SRAWSH-noo-ksee) A weapon similar to a sword, except made out of rorsna, with
engravings of ancient Masz-d'ra on the blade. Depending on what the engravings are, they could give it
extra strength, sharpness, speed, effectiveness, and can even give it a fire burning inside it, or an icy
coldness. Some can even give their bearers extra strength, but these are *extremely* rare and hard to
find or make.

please make note that any "r" in a Masz-d'ra (Or Shor-d'na for that matter) word is rolled, as you would
in Spanish.
