Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Snow ❯ Snow ( Epilogue )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Snow
Gazing down the streets of the shadow gray town he almost made a sigh.
White dusting fell from the heavens onto the planet, dancing before it
finally came it to rest on the ground. The December air was so quiet.
The snow seemed to know the fondness Heero held for it, as its
crystals landed softly on his lashes, and lightly touched his cheek.
He smiled. The rare occurrence faded quickly as he drew his face back
to its expressionless gaze. It was the safest way to stand. Though the
solider were afraid of nothing he felt emotions plagued him as his
greatest weakness. They therefore, were never to be shown.
A lone street lamp stood by the brick road. It luminescence with warm,
golden light. It was the only light in the little town at 2am.
Heero finally let out a sigh. His warm breath turned into a cloud as
it left his mouth and lifted its self into the black air.
A cold wind played in the street of the town. Waltzing with the
flurries of snow and playing with the tassels of his scarf. Heero shut
his eyes to feel the sting of the cold on his reddening cheeks. He
stuffed his ungloved hands into his coat pockets so they were not to
be bitten much harder by the frost.
The inch of snow crunched under his boots as he walked down the
street. In was the only sound to be heard in the Christmas's morning
night.
This was Christmas.
Heero continued down the road, his destination unknown to anyone,
including himself. Heero wanted so badly to know where he was going.
He had to know. It is dangerous for him not know, he felt too open.
He reached the end of the village it didn't take long.
He turned his dark blue eyes to the black sky, a slightest dull sliver
of the moon shown out at the lonesome bleak planet. The moon was gone
in a matter of moments, faded as Heero's expressions.
Heero remained motionless unknowing why he was there, unknowing why he
was making himself so vulnerable to his feelings, and others. He just
stood, looking to the sky as if it would give him the answer if he
would only ask.
What am I looking for? He finally asked in a husky whisper.
Snow continued to fall from the heavens. White, each flurry glowing
with a silver light. It fell so silently the snow flurries could have
been the feathers of an angle.
Every crystal was graced as perfect, six branches streaming from its
center heart. Each perfect crystal seemed to be one of the stars from
his home, outer space. This terrain too felt like outer space cold,
silent, and endless in a state.
Heero heard something right behind him; he had let his guard down for
to long. He spun around to face who ever was there.
The person stood only six feet away. Concern and caring expressions
held on his bright violet eyes.
At that moment of life Heero realized this was not the endless cold
reach of space he knew all so well. It was different, and thank God.
Earth was the heart of the crystal. Six branches: like the space
colonies. And a word not lightly used by himself love: the light of
the stars and the glow of the crystals. He would never tell a soul
what he knew, nor felt at the moment as he concentrated on his friends
face.
"Would you like to come back in?" Duo asked gently.
Heero made a small hum answering to his friend's question. He had
found what he was looking for and it was deeper then the pain he
endured day after day, or the hope he observed in the commoners on
different days. His mission was complete and he found what he never
planned looking for.
So precise and fragile
Clean and so pure
May love spread like snow
may it be your holiday cheer.
