Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Soliloquies of Pain ❯ Coliloquy: Resolution ( Chapter 5 )

Soliloquy 5 or "Coliloquy Quietus"

Hee hee. Me again. Here it is! The last and *absolutely* final chapter in this tragedy-warped fic.

I just have some overall things to say before I start this thing. 1) I *am* a 1x2 fan. Despite what I've written, I am. 2) If someone (who has a bit too much time on their hands) would mind writing a review to tell me the astrological signs of the guys, I'd be very thankful. 3) I know my writing sucks. But, I'm a first-timer, so thanks!

Thanks to all *ten* of my muses -.-;; and to everyone who reviewed this. All nine of you.

Disclaimer: I do not own them. If I did, my life would be *much* more like a life.

(A/N: If someone who learned latin corrects me on the title, I'll be grateful, tho annoyed.)

Dorothy sat alongside Duo as he waited for the other two pilots to arrive. "We don't have to do this, you know," she whispered, placing a hand casually on his arm. "We could just leave and save the explanations for another time--like in twenty years."

Duo shook his head, his braid mimicking the movement slightly, almost with a life of its own. "We have to do this. I have to know how he--" he swallowed hastily, his voice catching on the words. "How he feels about this."

In another room, Wufei paced the length, his steps never deviating as he ranted. "You must be out of your damned mind, Yuy! Why on earth would you want to get hurt like this all over again?! He's made it clear that he doesn't want you--"

Heero silenced his lover with a look. "You know why I have to do this, Wufei." His prussian blue eyes were glassy with pain, a look that was common now after Duo left.

Wufei's stern look softened, and he stopped just short of Heero. "You've got more honor than I thought. You are a better man than I."

Heero shook his head. "No, Wufei-mitsu, just more concerned for the result."

Wufei sighed and ran a hand through his ink-black hair, which he had taken to wearing down in an attempt to get Heero's attention. *He really doesn't understand the kind of pain he's setting himself up for,* he thought as he managed a weak smile. *Damn. Now _I_'m being weak. If nothing else, I must remain supportive, for Heero.*

*******

When Heero entered the room that Duo and Dorothy sat in, Duo noticed a strange look of panic flicker through his former lover's face. *He's scared. I didn't think he'd even be worrried about this--_I_'m the one that's supposed to be nervous, and I'm calm. Huh.*

Dorothy tightened her grip on Duo's arm, her pale hand a stark contrast to the jet-black sweater Duo wore. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of Yuy, and she thought at him, *You hurt him one more time and I will kill you--regardless of the effect on Duo-chan.* Outwardly, she sighed, but made no move to remove her hand.

As Wufei and Heero sat down at the table, the tension in the air was so thick that it would have been possible for someone to cut it. Ironically, Wufei was the only one who didn't notice it, as he was more concerned with his fellow pilots.

Duo cleared his throat. "I guess we should get this over with, so we can all rest a bit better." He said quietly, without any sign of his former mischevious glee.

Heero snorted. "If you were so concerned for our rest, you shouldn't have been shaking the walls with that slut!"

Dorothy clenched her jaw and let the comment slide. "At least I was *there* when he needed me!" she retorted, letting the anger fuel her words.

Duo shook his head and sighed, with sorrow on his face. "Heero, I'd give anything to have broken it to you in a different way, but I can't. Dorothy's right: she *was* there for me when I needed her, and she didn't hurt me like you did, emotionally."

Wufei's eyes widened. "He--What?!" he asked, looking first at Duo and then at his lover. "Is that true?" he whispered, shock clearly on his face.

Duo nodded and looked at his hands in shame. "It wasn't something I could talk about. After he found out that I'd been talking with Dorothy, he tried to beat me bloody, but Quatre walked in, and punched him in the nose." He said quietly, tugging at the shoulder of his sweater. "I don't have scars--Quatre made sure of that--but the emotional scars last longer than you'd believe." He thought for a moment and looked at Heero evenly, while directing his comments to Wufei. "After that, he didn't hit me. I think seeing Quatre punch him made him realize what he'd done."

Wufei nodded, shocked by what he saw and the idea of angelic-Quatre actually punching Heero.

Heero rapped the table with his fingers. "I said I was sorry, Duo--I didn't mean to hurt you like that--"

Dorothy stood up and put her hands on the table. "You bastard. You don't mean that and you know it. Every time you went out on a mission, he'd come to me crying, fretting for your safety, but the minute he left on a mission, you visited Relena like there was no tomorrow!" Her white-blonde hair flowed as she shouted and shook.

Heero looked at her with impassive calm. "Don't talk about things that don't concern you, Catalonia-san. You're only here as a courtesy."

"Bullshit. I'm here because I knew that if I wasn't, you'd be pulling the same mindgames that you did in the past." Dorothy said harshly, looking Heero right in the eyes.

Duo put a hand on her shoulder and forced her to sit down. "That's the past. It's over. We're here now to make sure that nothing is left unresolved." His voice was quiet and cold, and his amethyst eyes were full of sorrow.

Heero looked at Duo and whispered, "I still do love you, you know."

Duo nodded and sighed. "Then stop hurting me and leave me to my life."

Wufei looked at Dorothy, shocked by the sudden forgiving vibe Duo began to project. Her look of surprise confirmed his guess that she hadn't seen this coming.

After a moment, Duo stood up and took Dorothy's hand. "I'm ready now. Let's go." He said quietly, but his eyes were less shadowed.

As they left, Wufei got off his chair and kneeled beside Heero, who had put his head down on the table. "What can I do?" he asked gently, all pretenses leaving.

Heero shook his head, and looked up, and the faint lines of two tears were visible in the light. "Nothing. Just--nothing."

Wah-ha! Finished! It's finally over! I can go on!
Okay. Here's my line of thinking. 1) Duo and Heero were in love. (Obviously!) 2) Heero starts pulling some macho-shit about being indestructable. 3) Duo reacts by thinking it's his fault--> goes to Dorothy for comfort. 4) Comfort turns to sex, and Heero finds out the hard way, even though he's still "in love" with Duo.*Chapter 1* (Before any die-hards get on my case, for the purpose of this fic, all bets are off about their relationship.) 5) Wuffie-chan enters the picture and offers comfort and solace to Heero. *Chapter 2* 6) If you can't figure out what happens from here, go back and read the other four chapters. ^.~ I'm not trying to be an ass about it, but *honestly*.::exasperated sigh:: Conclusion: This chapter.

Much thanks to those of you who reviewed and gave me positive feed-back (Komadori-chan MD: *^.^* Thanks for the compliment!!) and to those of you who haven't reviewed but I know you've been reading. (Kitsune-chan...::wink wink nudge nudge::)

Where I go from here is up to you guys. I can only hope that someone gives me an idea. Arigato!!
