Notes: Part of my `Sounds' series of drabbles. The other two can be found on my FF.Net account. This was composed while I was in the shower, and typed up at about one in the morning. (This happens to me a lot.) Hasn't been beta'd, other than a quick run through the spellchecker. There is one run-on sentence, which apparently sneaked in there in order to make up for all the fragments.

It was not a wedding. If Relena were to marry, it would be a spectacle. Her station would have demanded nothing less. This, then, was too intimate, too special, for a wedding. This was for them.

The ceremony was short. Small, but the important people were there. The recessional was Amazing Grace. Duo led the hymn, his eyes smiling at them. His voice, deepened slightly since his teenage years, mingled with the voices of their friends, then soared above them, filling the church to the rafters with the joyful sound.

Relena's heart soared with it.

It was not a wedding.
