============================================================
The black broken remnants of the house were a pitiful sight to behold.
It used to stand sturdy amidst tropical scenery that surrounds its modest structure. The previous owner of the house has just died three days ago, leaving his only son as sole owner of the simple dwelling.
The villagers wondered what happen that leads to these destructions.
The young man turns nineteen a month back. Tall and willowy slender, with an almost too pretty, too beautiful features to be suited for a male to have, which the son always suspect looks more like his mother than his plain feature father.
The father named his son Heero Yuy, a strange name to have amongst simple village population that both father and son reside in. The son sudden arrival in his father’s life has always been whispered and speculated by the villager.
It is because the father himself is a recluse.
Never been married.
A man of few words who keeps to himself.
Then unexpectedly, he got himself a son.
It is bound to be gossips about when the son arrived without a mother in sight.
Whenever young Heero asks about his mother, his father refused to say anything.
The father barely smiles, but whenever he does, it is always tinges with sadness, a trait that the son notices since he was young.
Its something that he wonders about, but tried not to ask.
It is not until death came suddenly for his father, that young Heero wish he had the courage to ask those damn question before its too late.
Now, Heero finally knew why people always look strangely and suspiciously at him. Looking through the contents of his late father’s belongings, he found a particular design silver bracelet and a letter address to him.
The years of wondering is ending.
How do you explain having one of those mythical creatures known as Pari to simple folks, and being told that one particular Pari is actually your mother?
It is almost a joke, almost, if not for the simple truth that his father never lied.
Father might have been many things, but a liar he is not.
His father said that Heero has been living on borrowed time, and soon, the life that he thought he knew, his whole world and existence will be forever change.
Clutching both letter and bracelet to his chest, his stunning cobalt eyes stared at nothing and everything.
It is hard to ignore the vision of fire slowly
Burning the only place, he ever called home.
Father left an ominous warning for him to leave quickly.
He has to get far away from the village, and travel towards the south.
Journey into the Vardion kingdom, where his father’s half sister, Sally Po, will be waiting.
Heero did not know that he has any family beside his father, and now he has an aunt.
There seems to be too much about his life that father tried to hide, and its giving him a headache.
It is too much for him to take.
All is happening too fast at such a short time.
His life is spiraling out of his control.
“Go to Vardion my son; my only sister will be waiting for you there. Sally will shelter and guide you until the time is right for you to choose a path in your life where I hope will bring you towards your life true destiny”
“But don’t ever come back to this village. Pack lightly, and burn our house. Promise me that you will do this my son; a lot depends on your journey to Vardion.”
“And please never loose sight of this bracelet. It belongs to your mother.”
“I am sorry that I never tell you the truth about who you really are.”
“This bracelet will lead you to your destiny”
“Wear it before you leave this village, remember to wear it always, and do not loose sight of it.”
“Take care Heero, and forgive me for hiding the truth from you all this time.”
“I thought its better to keep you safe with my silence, but I can see that keeping you safe with
ignorance is not bliss; it is a dangerous combination in the end.”
“I love you my son, and remember that your mother love you till the last moment of her life.”
“We both want the best for you, and whatever we do, we do it because we love you.”
“I love you my son.”
Heero could not help the tears from falling, just as he could not help loosing the only home
He knew.
The truth about his mother, and father request regarding their home left his heart bleeding.
This is something that he always wanted to know, and now that he knows, he wished he were still wondering in the dark.
Father was quite adamant that he leave as soon as he can.
However, to ask him to burn the only place where he always feels safe, the only home he knew, and where all his childhood memories and precious moments that he spends with his beloved father, to left it burn like so much ashes, it is almost like Heero Yuy never existed here in this village.
However, deep in his soul, no matter the cost to his broken heart, he could not ignore
The growing urgency that has been building since his father's untimely demise.
For now, he has to hide his grief, and do what needs to be.
And do it soon.
It is almost as if an invisible barrier that shields him throughout all his existence in this village suddenly vanished with the death of his father.
It might sound ridiculous, but considering his predicament now, it might be wise not to linger any longer than necessary
Trouble is brewing in the air, and it is high time for him to know the truth about his life.
And his destiny.
The villagers gather outside their house that night, puzzles by the blazing fire that surrounds the house of one of their own.
They watch in horror as the fire licks through the roof of the house, turning it into black debris of broken wood and ashes.
And throughout it all, nobody notice the slim cloaked figure riding away silently into the twilight.
