Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Taki Nobori ❯ Kodaku na ( Chapter 3 )
Disclaimer: All right, let's get this straight. - I at no point will ever own Gundam Wing as it belongs to its wonderful creators and many different companies that have premiered and animated it. The only thing I own is a box of bubble gum and my warped sense of mind. And as much as I love the GW boys, I can only wish to have them at my beck-and-call.
Warnings: yaoi/shonen-ai (3x2/main, 12, 43, 52more pairings will evolve later on), ncs, angst, drama, some humor, romance; etc.

Taki-Nobori: Chapter 1- Kodaku Na
By: Liz a.k.a-Kochiyami
(Third Person POV)
A little boy stood silently, not daring to move. He didn't know where he was. All around him, it looked odd and frightening. In his small arms, he held his favorite teddy bear tightly as he was afraid it'd leave him there alone. He tried to call out, trying to ask if there was anyone there but couldn't as he heard no sound leave from his trembling lips. Crying out in silent distress, he finally was able to move. He made his way through the odd-looking land, looking for anyone or anywhere he could find help. However, as he made his way through the land, he heard something call out to him. He stopped quickly, looking every which way, as he tried to locate the voice he heard. "Hello?" he found himself stuttering out weakly. "Is-is anyone there?" He heard nothing in response. Starting to walk once again, his pace was quick and skittish. However, no matter how quick he walked, no matter how far he trekked, he couldn't find any way out of this odd place. Slumping down to the floor dejectedly, he curled into a protective ball while he still clutched his beloved teddy. "Where am I? I wanna go home. Mommy, Daddy?" he sniffed out softly, biting his lower lip to try to stop his building tears. "I don't wanna be alone anymore. Please…" He sadly looked down at his teddy bear. "I hate being alone…" He cried himself to sleep.
Duo suddenly jerked away as his alarm started its second round of beeping. "Damn! I'm going to be late!" He quickly stumbled his way to the hall bathroom to take a quick shower. Kyomi will skin me alive if I'm lateon the first day of school! He took his shower under ten minutes and rushed his way back to his room as he braided his hair in a hurry. "Damnit, where the hell is that stupid bag at! Ah ha! There it is!" Finally, after many hasty searching and rants of cuss words later, Duo made his way down the stairs to grab something to eat before he walked his way to school.
"Duo, I trust you got everything you need with you?" Kyomi asked him once he made his way into the kitchen. "Backpack, notebooks, pens, pencil, binde-.."
"Yeah, yeah, I got everything I need." Duo answered his guardian impatiently. He grabbed a few pop tarts from the cupboard and a glass of milk from the fridge. "You gonna pick me up today Kyomi?
Kyomi looked at Duo in surprise. "You mean you want your old bat of a mother to actually pick you up?" She said mockingly. "I mean, you're big and bad now, Mr. High School."
Duo laughed as he shock his head. "Oh c'mon Kyomi. I want you to, and plus, I don't exactly feel like walking home… and… I don't mind you actually picking me up. It makes me feel like I'm important. Kinda." He had muttered out the last part of what he said, not really wanting to embarrass himself with the sentiment in which he spoke. But to his despair, Kyomi heard every word. "Oh really? Well, in that case, since you lu-uveee me so much, I'd make it my everlasting duty of picking you up every single day you get out of school." She grinned evilly at Duo's prominent blush at her promise. "Yeah, yeah, fine…" he mumbled out as he took the lunch money she handed him and made his way out the door. "Bye Kyomi!" "Bye Duo. And Duo," He paused for a moment. "Have a good day at school and don't get into too much trouble." He smiled a genuine smile as he waved goodbye.
........
As Duo walked, he had nothing better to do than hum and think. What the heck was that dream about? He wondered. It's been bugging me for the past few days…always the same thing…always the same place! I even say the same things. If only I knew what it meant… His thoughts were interrupted however, as he found himself standing in front of his new school. Damn, it's huge! However, his musings were ended as he glanced at the clock tower. "Holy crap!" He was late.
He ran into the building quickly and made his way towards the main office to pick up his much needed schedule. He found it easily, as it was just to the right from the entrance of the school, and worked his way inside to ask one of the old women for assistance.
"How may I help you, young man?" The woman whose desk he was standing closest to asked.
"I'm here to pick up my schedule." He answered in his most polite tone.
"Name and grade please."
"Duo Maxwell, ah- Duo Takana Maxwell. Grade nine." The woman looked up at him oddly, as he corrected his name nervously. She didn't comment though, just eyed him thoughtfully.
"Hm. Well, here is you schedule Mr. Maxwell, and I believe your guardian requested for someone to help you around. Mm-hm, it's quite a nice thing to have in a big school such as this." She quickly typed though his file to see whom exactly would be his guide. Once she was finished, she gave his a printed out piece of paper with his schedule and handed it to him as well as a map of the school. "Your student guide is down that hall over there, the door has a big red letter S on it. It's not that hard to miss, dear." She smiled at him as he gave her a polite thanks and a grin.
He went the way she told him to and soon found himself knocking on the door. As he waited for a few seconds, he was surprised when the door opened to reveal a young man a few years older than himself. The older boy looked him up and down, seemly trying to absorb whatever he could tell from just a first impression.
"Uh- I came here for a-uh-student guide?" He meekly said. "Um… a…" he looked down quickly at his paper for his assigned guides name. "Milliardo Peacecraft?" He looked up at the older looking boy who stood in front of him, and smiled his masked grin, trying to and successfully hiding his nervousness.
"That's me. I'm assuming you're Duo, nice to meet you. Call me Zechs; I prefer it to my real name. Follow me; I have to show you to your class. I looked at your schedule, you're quite advanced in your schooling." 'Zechs' stated, as he and Duo made their way out of the main office and into the hallways outside it. "You're taking classes that some sophomores and most juniors take. Quite a feat for someone of your age." Zechs chuckled lightly as he patted Duo on the head, missing the faltered smile as Duo tried to swipe off his hand.
"So, what made you want to come here?" Zechs asked curiously.
"My guardian and I just moved here over the summer. She said she always wanted to live here in Southern Cal. This is the closest high school near my house, so it's convenient." Zechs just 'Mm'hmed' at this.
"What grade are you in Zechs, if you don't mind me asking." Duo blurted out. It seemed like he was thinking about asking that for a while.
"Well, This year I got the relief of finally being a senior. I'm quite happy about it, really." After his answer, they didn't speak much, only asking little questions here and there about the summer and the school.
Once Duo and Zechs had reached Duo's first class, Zechs knocked on the door, waiting for permission to enter. After just a minute or two, a disgruntled looking student opened the door. One Duo recognized immediately. It seemed that the boy also recognized Duo, for he just focused his glared down at him in a way that just stated 'What-the-fuck-are-you-doing-here?'
"Mornin' Yuy, nice to see you've lightened up a bit over the summer." That got the 'Yuy' boy to just glance at Zechs for a second. His focus was ever pointed at Duo. Duo, who had just raised all of his masked cheerfulness, grinned widely as he entered the room. He didn't want to show these upperclassmen that he was already scared. The teacher was at her desk reading a book when he walked in. She looked up briefly, as if extremely bored, and stated in a stern voice of his tardiness
"Mr. Maxwell I presume? You're late, and on the first day nonetheless." The teacher stated. "While the rest of the students found it highly important to make it to school on time, especially on the first day, you take your sweet time! Now find a seat and write down what is on the board!"
Duo, who now found a great disliking for his teacher, quickly located a chair in the far back near the window. However, as he made his way through the aisle to get to his seat, he was tripped. Letting out a startled cry, for he was caught off guard, he fell hard to the floor barely missing at hitting his head on one of the desk.
Blushing like a ripe cherry from his embarrassment, he scrambled to get off the floor before his teacher became even more annoyed with him. He didn't know who tripped him, but he had a sure guess as to whom. The closest desk to where he had been passing sat a boy with dark red hair who was obviously snickering at his fall. "What an idiot!" he heard the boy say to someone next to him. "When did they start taking freshman in this class? It's a disgrace!"
Duo tried to ignore what people were saying about him. It's not as this is the first time someone's made fun of me. All I have to do is stay focused and ignore them. Just ignore them. Keep that mask on. Always keep it on! He thought. He made sure he was still somewhat smiling as he finished his ranting thoughts. Don't let them get to you Duo.
His first class went by decently and he already had a lot of homework. It seemed almost no teachers he's had so far liked him much. As long as he didn't do anything to bug them, he reasoned he could make it through the year just fine. After each of his classes, he found Zechs waiting for him to help him to his other classes.
It was a huge relief for him when the bell finally rung for lunch. Sighing tiredly, he gathered his things from his desk and he slowly made his way to the lunch line to buy something to eat. Man, was he hungry!
........
A pair of eyes watched the boy as he walked to the lunch area. They were filled with curiousness and wonder. The person was in some shadows from a nearby hallway as they watched the pretty boy walk down the main hallway so no one, not even the boy, knew they were there. This person was intrigued by the boy. They wanted to find out everything about him and maybe even be friends. Other students found this person extremely odd and always humiliated them. This person just wanted someone to talk to, someone who'd listen and who'd maybe even be friends.
The person took one more longing look at the retreating boy they'd been watching, then walked away hoping that they wouldn't be lonely anymore.
TBC…
A/N: Well, that's the third chapter! It's longer than the other two and hopefully a lot more interesting. Now since Duo's started school, things will start getting more intricate and complex. You've ever wonder why Duo has those markings on him? Heh, well you'll find out eventually. I'm not quite sure how soon I want to reveal it. Now, the only thing I'm willing to say about them at this point is that they are distinctly linked to his heritage and very early past. He doesn't even know of all the secrets either. Alright, I hope you enjoyed this new chapter and the next is soon coming as well! Please review or flame, whichever one makes you happy. Thank you for reading and I hope you come back for more!
