"DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO! DUO!"

A rather large crowd, which seemed to consist of every existing delivery boy and girl of all delivery services in Marseille, was gathered in front of the city's most favourite Pizza delivery service, Js Wing Pizza. The owner, J, a man in his best years, was also there. The crowd shouted Duo's name over and over again, until this one finally appeared, carried on the shoulders of two men.

The crowd cheered aloud, until J finally cleared his throat:

"Okay, okay! Silence please!"

The suppliers slowly grew silent and Duo was let down on the platform in front of the pizzeria, standing next to J. This one continued to speak.

"Okay, first I'll welcome you to our little feast. As you all know, has my old, beloved pal Duo decided to cancel our friendship by quitting his job as delivery boy for my pizzeria. By doing that, he'll leave the world of two wheels and change into the world of four. Although we all know that this is a step back in evolution. After all, the human being starts on four legs and continues on two."

The crowd laughed aloud and cheered again. J continued his speech.

"Nevertheless, Duo was the best of us and above all a really good friend and pal. I think you'll agree with me over this."

The suppliers shouted their approval and sounded the horns on their scooters. Some patted Duo on his back or hugged him. The braided boy was so busy with his friends that he didn’t notice another boy coming closer to him. Only as he felt a butterfly kiss being pressed on his neck, Duo turned round and looked into the two loveliest blue eyes he ever had seen.

"Quatre, sorry, but did you just kiss by any chance? I mean...not that I didn’t mind. I just want to know if you mean it serious!" he asked the other boy unbelievingly.

Quatre chuckled and gave Duo another, this time a really deep kiss.

"Does this answer your question?" the blond boy answered.

"Hell, yes!"

Duo grinned and whirled his boyfriend around for a moment. Quatre just laughed and let him grant. But before he could give his boyfriend another kiss, J started to speak again. Duo helped Quatre onto the platform and slung his arm around his waist.

"Okay, folks! Nonetheless, we will give him a proper goodbye so that he won't forget where his roots are. LET THE PARADE BEGIN!"

"Q, watch out for this!" Duo whispered.

"How many drivers?"

"A lot! Just look and be astonished!" the braided boy replied and pointed towards the direction, where the building ended.

Just then the sounds of several motors could be heard and not even one minute later a rather large crowd, all in a line, appeared. There were lots of scooters, hundreds of them, driven by every single deliverer of every pizza service in the city. But that wasn’t everything they did. Some of them just drove by, waving to Duo and Quatre, who waved back enthusiastically.

But other drivers, more experienced ones, showed what they could do with their scooters. They showed big Jumps, somersaults with the scooters and lots of other tricks. One driver even drove onto the roof of the pizzeria.

In short, it was a rather impressive show, which everybody enjoyed. Except the two drivers at the end of the spectacle. They stopped directly in front of the platform and turned their motor bikes off.

"Ahem, Duo-chan, do you know these gentlemen?" Quatre asked carefully, wile looking down at the two police officers before them.

"Not that I knew!" Duo answered.

One of the police men got up from his bike and took off his helmet.

"Okay, can I please see your driver's license?" he asked.

Duo laughed embarrassed.

"I'm sorry, but I forget them in the back room. I can get them, if you want." He said.

"Fine. But hurry!" the officer said.

Duo just grabbed Quatre's hand and hissed a low "Let's go!", before both boys ran into the pizzeria, through the backdoor outwards and away from the building and the policemen.

After an hour or so, they reached Duo's place, which turned out to be an old warehouse. Getting inside, they both collapsed laughing on Duo' bed.

"Gods, I wished I could see their faces, when they realize that we aren’t coming back!" the braided boy giggled.

"I wonder if they are still waiting for us!"

***

Back at the pizzeria, the policemen were still waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting.

"I wonder when they're coming back!" the first man said.

The other just shrugged his shoulders and continued to wait.

***

When Duo couldn’t laugh anymore, he took a deep breath and then turned to face his boyfriend.

"So what do we do now?"

Quatre smiled wickedly and ran one finger over Duo's chest.

"I have an idea! But only if you don’t mind...!"

The braided boy returned the grin and suddenly flipped them so that Quatre lay below him.

"Well, it seems as if I had the same idea. Why don’t we start on the spot?"

"Sounds good to me!" the blond boy replied and kissed Duo hard on the mouth.

But just as things were getting interesting......the alarm clock rang. Groaning, Duo stopped his attack on and shut the nerve killing machine off.

"Ahem, sorry for the question...But why did you stop?" Quatre pouted.

"Sorry, Q. But I almost forgot that I have an appointment to keep."

"Now? We were just at the start."

Duo stood up and looked for his pants.

"Well, it's about my new job. I made this appointment months ago. I hope you can understand this. Why don’t you wait for me? I'm sure it won't take long!" the braided boy said, while taking a new set of fresh clothes and changing into them.

Before he left, he went to Quatre and gave him a butterfly goodbye kiss.

"See you later, cutie!"

The Arab sighed and the flashed a smile to Duo.

"Alright! Although it's rather unfair to me. I'll wait here. But please hurry so that we can continue what we started or I'll look for another boyfriend!"

Duo just laughed.

"Do that! Salut!"

The American just smiled and went down the stairs and then outwards. Quatre sighed again and made himself a tea. Waiting could be hard without his daily dose tea.

*

"Number 110, please!"

The number resounded through the corridors, just as Duo arrived at the department. The braided boy went straight to a counter, where a female official in charge was busy with work. Seeing that there were already some people, he paced up and down the corridor until an old man, who was busy reading his newspaper, noticed him and gave him a tip.

"Hey boy, just take a number first!"

Duo looked at him and then at the spool with the numbers. He would have to wait from what it looked like. He hated waiting. He wasn’t really a patient person unlike Quatre. His boyfriend was the most patient person he ever had seen. Maybe that's the reason why they both were together. Opposites attract.

Sighing, Duo went to the spool and tried to finger a number, hitting the spool when it didn’t want to cooperate. Finally, after a few minutes, he managed to get one out. Only...after Duo had read the number on it, he really had trouble to fight the urge to smash his head right into the next wall.

"248! Do they think I have that much time that I can wait here all day?" he mumbled under his breath.

"Number 111, please!" shouted the woman behind the counter at that moment.

Muttering further, the braided boy sat down beneath the man with the newspaper. Calming himself down, Duo turned to his neighbour and decided to pick up a small talk with him.

"So, you're new here, too?"

"No! I was working here for 25 years! Yesterday was my last working day! Today I'm officially in pension and now I'm finally able to read my newspaper in peace for the first time in 25 years!" the man answered.

"Why not!" answered Duo sarcastically, before he bowed his head in despair.

This was going to be a very, very, very, very long day.

***

5 hours later.

Duo was snoring happily, when suddenly someone nudged him. Jerking out of his beauty sleep and a little bit confused, he looked around to see, who had nudged him. Just when he was awake enough, the woman at the counter shouted:

"Number 248, please wake up!!!"

Realizing that it his number had been called on, Duo jumped up and hurried towards the woman.

"I'm coming!" he shouted.

Helen, which was the name of the female, looked at Duo and then back on her work.

"Okay, here's your tag, your passport photos, your new taxi licence! Please sign here and here!" she said, while putting said things on the counter.

Duo did, what she had said, while Helen was putting more things on the desk.

"Your new licence for conveyance of passengers, your old drivers licence, vehicle licence, your concession number and the sign!" she said.

The braided boy grabbed everything and waited for the rest. When nothing came, he asked the woman carefully:

"That's all?"

"Yes!"

"After six years of waiting?"

"Want me to sing the national anthem?"

Duo glared at the stubborn female.

"No, thanks. But a smile would have been nice!"

Helen gave him a short smirk, before she called on the next number.

"Number 249, please!"

The American had enough and made a quick exit, muttering something about stupid female employees under his breath.

*

When Duo returned to his place, he couldn’t find a single sign of Quatre, just a note on his bed. The braided boy read it and had to smile.

'Dear Duo!

It's noon and you're not here. So I ate out and then married the cook out of despair.

See you tonight!!!

Kisses

Quatre'

Duo shook his head. Quatre was sweet to him. But since the Arab wasn’t here now, he could also make a jaunt with his new Taxi. He went back to the part of the warehouse, where a covered car stood. The American carefully uncovered it and easily attached the *Taxi* sign on the roof. The he looked proud at it. All what he still needed now, was applause. So he simply interviewed himself.

"So how do you feel, Mr. Maxwell?"

"Oh, it's good to have my own taxi at least!"

"Well, then I'll give my best wishes and congratulations to you!"

"That's not necessary, but...thank you!"

Then he finally sat into his Taxi. His Taxi. How long had he been waiting for this moment? It had seemed like an eternity to him and now it was time. Duo enjoyed the warm feeling, which welled up in him, when he started the car and heard the roaring of the motor. It felt so good.

And then he started his joyride.

***

Duo cruised through the whole City, along the city highway and the coast. It was great. When he stopped in front of a red traffic light, the American suddenly heard a well known roaring.

Looking backward, he began to grin, when a yellow delivery scooter stopped next to him.

"Hey Duo! Nice Car!"

"Hey Abdul!"

Both friends shook hands, before Abdul took off his helmet.

"The party yesterday was great, wasn’t it? All those drivers and their stunts."

"Yeah, right. Was cool! By the way, is your vehicle alright? It makes so funny noises."

"Of course it's alright! Did just shook off two of those biker chicks!"

Duo grinned. He knew what Abdul meant with biker chicks. Because said biker chicks (a.k.a. Policemen on motorbikes) were just arriving behind them, while Abdul was telling him, how exactly he got rid of them. One of the policemen took his radio set and probably got in touch with his headquarters.

"And I swear they won't forget me that easily!" Abdul ended his tale.

"Abdul. You're absolutely right. They haven’t forgotten you!" Duo smirked and made a motion with his head.

The other young man turned his head and saw the policemen there. Immediately he put on his helmet again.

"Hey Ladies...still with moustache? Well, see you later, Duo!" Abdul said and started his scooter, just rushing through between both police bikes.

Immediately the two policemen also tried to turn their bikes, but it was a little bit difficult with all the cars here. Finally they made it and tried to get Duo's friend, but Abdul was long away.

Duo laughed a little bit and turned his attention back to the traffic light. Well, now it was time to earn some money.
