It took them about an hour to arrive from the spaceport to Quatre's estate. Wufei had been feeling slightly apprehensive during the drive because he was unsure of the other two pilots reaction. He had not parted on the best of terms with Heero nor had he seen Trowa in a few years.
"Hey Wufei are you going to stand on the porch all day or come inside?"
Duo was watching him impatiently from inside the doorway and he could barely see Quatre who stood a few feet away. Shrugging his shoulders he stepped inside and walked passed Duo. Hearing the door close behind him, Wufei began to wonder if coming here was such a good idea after all. The whole entry way was slightly shadowed and only one lamp was on. Glancing over to his left he could barely make out someone standing in the shadows. One green eye glowed slightly before the person stepped out into the light.
"Hello Trowa it's been a while."
Trowa nodded at him in greeting before walking over to Quatre. He was not all surprised by the others reaction since he hadn't been all that close to him in the war. Now that he thought about it he did remember the other man trying to be friendly with him during the Mariemeia incident but he had shrugged him off. Wufei felt slightly ashamed about treating him that way but he was unsure how to apologize to him.
"Ah."
Wufei jerked in surprise when he felt warm arms encircle his waist and pull him back against a chest. He flushed red in embarrassment before trying to struggle away.
"Hello Wufei glad you could make it."
Freezing in his struggles he glanced over his shoulder and gazed into Prussian blue eyes.
"Heero?"
He was shocked that Heero would hug him much less have a warm smile on his face. The other ex-pilot always seemed aloof and cold. The only time he had seen any emotion out of him was during the Mariemeia incident and now.
"Hai?"
"Um nothing, never mind."
Heero continued to regard him thoughtfully before letting go. Wufei was unsure of what to say and was saved by Duo. The other boy leaped at Heero and gave him a hug.
Wufei took a step back and regarded the other four thoughtfully. He was unsure of what to make of this new development and how he should react. They all seemed close somehow from the way that Quatre and Trowa were talking a few feet way and Duo and Heero right in front of him. In a way he felt left out and that hurt. Perhaps if he had let the others in all those years ago things might have turned out different, but perhaps not.
"Wufei?"
Sighing slightly he glanced over at Quatre and noticed that the other man was rubbing his chest.
"Yes Quatre?"
"If you follow me I will show you to your room?"
Following Quatre up the staircase he could feel the other three men watching him and was glad when they arrived at the top. It didn't take long for Quatre to show him to his door and open it. The room was pretty big with a bed against the far wall, a chest of drawers next to it, and even had a balcony window.
"Thank you Quatre."
He was about to step inside when he felt a hand grasp his arm. Glancing over his shoulder he was surprised by the concern showing on Quatre's face.
"Don't worry so much Wufei, everything will turn out okay."
He blinked in shock at Quatre's words and could only watch as the other turned and walked away. Closing the door behind him he walked over towards the bed and sat down. Pulling out the rubber band, he raked his hand through his black hair before flopping back onto the bed. He wondered if he should believe the other man's words but then again why doubt them. Sighing slightly he kicked off his shoes and closed his eyes. Deciding that it could wait he relaxed and was soon fast asleep.

Wufei strolled through the dark gardens and thought over the last few days at Quatre's estate. He noticed that the other four had formed a very close bond and seemed almost like family. They would talk about so many things that had happened in the past or joke around each other. Wufei knew that they were not trying to exclude him but sometimes he felt that way. Raking a hand wearily through his loose black hair he wondered for the hundredth time if coming here had been a good idea.
"Wufei?"
Jerking his head in startlement he squinted his eyes and could barely make out a pale shape in the darkness. The artificial moon was only at half crescent and it was only glowing dimly over head.
"What are you doing out at this time of the night?"
The figure stepped closer and he could see that it was Heero. The other boy was barefoot and was wearing a pair of jeans. Turning his back to Heero he shrugged his shoulders and gazed at the sky.
"Just thinking about things is all Heero. Why are you here?"
He gasped in surprise when Heero encircled his arms around his waist and pulled him flush against him. A blush flushed across his face and Wufei tried to pull away. Heero's arms tightened around him in warning and he decided to stop struggling. In a way it felt nice to be held and Wufei relaxed against Heero slowly. He felt the other man rest his chin on his shoulder and they stood that way for a moment.
"Just worried about you is all Fei. You have been quiet the last few days and more so then Trowa."
Wufei blinked at the shortening of his name but decided to leave it for now. He was slightly surprised that other boy had noticed but then again it was nice to know that he had.
"Its just that I am not to sure why I have even come here Heero. I don't feel like I belong here with you guys at all. Maybe its better that I leave and spend the rest of my vacation somewhere else."
He was surprised when Heero released him and then turned him around. Blazing blue eyes glowed angrily down at him and Wufei gulped in surprise.
"Don't ever say that Wufei! Of course you belong here with us and we are all glad that you have come. You are apart of our family Fei and we have missed you theses last few years."
Onyx eyes widened in shock before Wufei ducked his head. He was startled at the emotion he had heard in Heero's words and by what he had said. Somehow he knew that the other man had been speaking the truth but it was so hard to except it.
"Please don't leave Wufei. If you do then you will always regret not trying to be with us and end up sad and alone."
Hearing the plea in the other's voice Wufei lifted his head and gazed into tearful Prussian blue eyes. Reaching up he carefully cupped Heero's face and watched as the other closed his eyes. Tears slid down the other's cheeks and he watched it in fascination. It was the first time he had ever seen the other cry and he knew he didn't like it. A part of him hurt to see the other in pain and it was all because of him.
"Alright Heero I won't leave and I'll try harder okay?"
He watched as Heero opened his eyes and smiled warmly. Sighing softly Wufei hoped that this was a good idea and not a big mistake. He blinked in surprise when Heero stepped closer to him and slid his arms around his neck. Slim fingers slid into his loose black hair and he gasped. Blushing furiously he was about to ask what Heero was doing when a warm mouth settled over his. The kiss lasted for a moment before the other man released him and stepped away.
"Thank you Fei."
Raising a hand to his lips he watched as Heero turned around and walked off into the darkness. His lips still felt tingly from the kiss and he was more confused then ever. Why had Heero kissed him and why hadn't he stopped him? Letting out a groan he slowly made his way towards the estate and knew that his life had gotten a whole lot more confusing.
