Prologue: The Beginning of a New Era

Sanq Kingdom July 5, A.C. 197:

Zechs paced around his office for hours now. He was worried to death about the peace proposal being made in the next room. Finally the colony delegates were making a permanent peace plan with the Earth. Everything was running smoothly or he hoped it was. Relena had not seemed her usual self since the incident with Mariamaya and all. Zechs looked to his window for the millionth time in the last hour. Noin sighed knowing that his instincts as an older brother were running their course through his body. Very soon Relena stepped into the room with Wufei and Sally behind her as bodyguards. She wearily walked to her worried brother and smiled sweetly.
"Well?" Zechs asks.
"The plan has been signed and now the colonies and Earth will live in peace for some time now. I just only wish.." Relena replies.
"Wish what?" Noin questions.
"Oh nothing," Relena answers.
"I do have wonderful news for all of you," Sally adds.
"What it is?" Relena asks.
"Well two days ago Heero called us. He said that he was coming down here on the 7th to see us all," Sally answers.
Relena's face lit up like a candle and she excused herself to her room. The others sighed knowing that she still had a major crush on the former Gundam pilot. Relena collapsed on her bed and smiled like no end. She held the teddy bear he gave her tightly in her arms. This was the happiest moment of today. It had been six long months since she last saw Heero. She still remembers that day he left for his home colony.

----Flashback----

Relena stood in Heero's room in the hospital. She had escorted him there after the rescue squad recovered everyone from the destroyed mansion. He was awake and aware of his surroundings and she almost had to tie him to the bed to get him to stay. His injuries were not that serious to threaten his life, but badly bruised legs were cause enough to keep him in bed. Many times she gently placed her hand on his chest to push him down on his pillows. He stared at her for several moments before deciding to give up for the time being. Heero sighed seeing the nurse come in with the inedible food. Relena sat his bed upright and motioned him to eat.
"Heero, you know you can be so stubborn sometimes. But just this once obey the doctor's orders. For me at least," she pleaded him.
"I am not hungry," came his reply.
"You have been out for two days and you are trying to tell me you are not hungry. Either you eat or I'll feed you like the baby you are acting like," Relena quipped as her temper rose.
Before Heero could say anything further Relena had picked up his fork and slammed a piece of beef into his mouth. Heero chewed it for a moment and swallowed it. He gave her his version of a look of disgust. Relena chuckled and forced corn into his mouth. Heero swallowed it and got the point. He was not getting out of this one. When he had his fill of the crap on a tray he laid back.
"How long?" he asked.
"A week that is all you have to stay here," Relena answered.
"If you are forcing me to stay here, I would appreciate it if you brought me something to occupy my time with," Heero replied.
"I would, but I do not know what the Perfect Soldier does to occupy his time," Relena replied.
"You really want to know?" he asked leaning in closer to her.
"Yes..." Relena said stammering a bit thinking of what he was preparing to do.
Heero put a devil like smirk across his lips. Relena closed her eyes and waited for this moment she had waited so long for. She could feel his body heat he was so close. She was surprised when all he did was cup his hand around her ear. Silently, she kicked herself.
"A laptop would be nice, but if you can not get that then... I guess I would settle for crossword puzzles or something along those lines," he whispered into her ear.
"I never knew you liked those kinds of things," Relena responded.
"Doctor J gave a few of those books when I had free time," Heero said as he laid back down.
Relena smiled and walked over to a table in the room and grabbed a book and pen. She handed them to Heero and he began working on the puzzles. He smiled slightly and looked at her. She stopped and looked at him just as she sat back down beside his bed.
"Relena, arigatougozai masu," Heero said taking a foreign accent.
"Your welcome, Heero," Relena said recognizing the words from her Japanese class.
That night he left into the night. Relena woke up around midnight to find the book finished and a letter beside it written on a torn out blank page of the book.
"Dear Relena,
Now that peace reigns once again, I wish you luck. I am sorry to disappear like this, but I shall return someday. For now I need to collect who I am then I will return. This book is finished and when I return I hope that the rest will be finished as well. Just remember "In Rose" (1).
Your friend,
Heero Yuy"
Relena stared at the letter and looked out the open window. She could see his figure running away. She forced her voice to work.
"Heero! Promise me that you will return!" she yelled.
The figure stopped and turned to look at her.
"I promise!" Heero yelled back before he ran again.

----End of Flashback----

Colony L1 Spaceport Waiting Area:

Heero sat in a chair close to the window. There was no one in the room since most were outside in the parade. He sighed this would be his just return to the Earth since the Mariamaya incident. He had remembered his promise to Relena and had even gone to the trouble of hand making her a present. He reclined his head against the wall behind him and sunk into the chair. He was waiting for the darn ship to be fueled to go. The receptionists seemed to having a blast on a game on her computer. Heero could hear yelling something about killing the alien invaders or something. Finally the intercom rang out with the sounds of the ship departing for Earth was ready to take passengers. Heero gathered his duffel bag and headed towards the docking area. He presented his ID and ticket to the guard and he left him pass. Heero found the spaceship almost empty except for a few men there on account of the cargo.
Heero took a seat near the back against the window. He looked out the window as the ship drove across the runway to the gate that would lead them to outer space. As the ship met the starry blackness Heero sighed. For now he would take a nap until the ship landed safely on the Earth's surface. He did not have time to enjoy his nap as a cloth and hand snaked around him. The cloth was held up to his mouth and he could smell the various chemicals in it. They were going to drug him into a deep slumber. He struggled but another man restrained him and the drug was taking effect.
"What do you want?" Heero asked through the cloth.
"Do not worry Mr. Yuy our boss has plans for you," the man replied.
With that Heero feel into the world of unconsciousness. The men signaled to the pilot and they headed towards a small colony in the distance. They strapped Heero's body with chains and injected him with an extra dose of sedatives. A large, bulky man stepped out from the shadows and took Heero into a chair and sat beside him. He looked to the others and smiled.
"Now that we have this ace in our hole the new era shall begin..." the bulky man stated.
"The question is will our boss get him to do what we need him to," a lean man said.
"You can be sure that our master has ways of making him do things..." the pilot said.
