Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ The Key ❯ Chapter 3

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

OMG! It's been so long since I've updated and I'm so sorry I've taken so long. School's taking up more time than I expected. But this is finally up. Special thanks to Sirus and Taka for always being there when I needed them. Thanks so much you two, this chapter is for you both. ^_^ Ja!

Duo shoulder his backpack and heaved a sigh. The stupid thing was heavy. He'd either have to take his truck or at least lighten his load if he wanted to save money by not driving. His mind took the first choice and he threw his gear in the back of his Chevy. If he was going to go into space, he'd at least pull up to the space station in style. And his brand new black and chrome Chevy was just they way to do it. He pushed a CD into the player and turned up the volume. Glaring Dream™ (property of the Gravitation series) flooded through his speakers, making the long haired teen grin and he began to sing along. It was a good 3 hours to the nearest station, so why shouldn't he be singing along to one of his favorite songs. The roads were quiet where he was driving. People weren't ever to happy about flying into space, even if they did have family there. Duo's voice went softer and lighter as he switched from GD to Ordinary Girl™ (property of Card Captor Sakura). He fought back the giggles, singing along with the girls on the CD. In the back of his mind he could just picture Heero yelling at him for singing so stupidly.

As soon as he pulled into the station he suddenly remembered why he disliked traveling to space. The shuttles scared the crap out of him. With a heavy sigh he parked his truck in the long term parking zone, made sure everything was tucked away on the inside so people wouldn't have a reason to break in and then locked it all up. Grabbing his backpack from the box he hefted it over his shoulder and headed towards the shuttle bay. At least with barely any people flying it was easy to buy his ticket once he got there. Well, he would have if Heero hadn't of taken care of all that sort of stuff himself. Duo shook his head and proceeded to the boarding desk, fishing out his wallet. He'd have to stow his backpack in the cargo bay, seeing as it weighed so much and really was too large to fit into the overhead compartment.

"Fifty dollars please," the woman at the desk said after getting Duo's backpack sized and weighed. Duo's jaw nearly hit the floor when he heard this. No wonder Heero had taken care of the flight tickets himself. Duo most likely didn't have the money to cover the air fare to L2. Heck, he barely could manage to pay for the stowage fees. Forking over the money, he made a mental note to thank Heero… and he prayed that he would have enough money in his bank account to pay for food once he got to L2.

Oh man…sooooo short….I apologize now. But I have a HUGE case of writers block and I'm just getting a head ache writing this. I promise I'll try and get more done.
