Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ The Key ❯ Chapter 5

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

"Ground! Precious ground!" People all around Duo turned to see the braided teen down on his hands and knees kissing the ground once he had gotten off the shuttle. Duo knew he was getting weird looks but he didn't care, he was just happy to no longer be flying. The little boy who had sat beside him during the flight was clutching his mothers hand so he wouldn't get lost in the flood of people. Upon sighting Duo, he let out a happy cry, let go of his mother and bounded over to the teen.

"See, I told ya," he said with a grin. Duo blinked some, than nodded, picking himself up off the ground.

"You were right kid," he agreed. "But I still don't like flying." This seemed to be good enough for the boy and he headed off to find his mother.

"Mommy?" The boy looked around in fear, not being able to see his mother anywhere.

"Mommy?!" he called again, voice trembling in fear. Duo caught the boys worried calls and looked around, pushing through the ever moving crowd to find the lost boy. With quick hands he swept the kid out of the path of a rather large man.

"I got ya kid, don't worry," he reassured the boy. "Let's get you inside and we'll find your mom ok?" The boy nodded, holding onto Duo tightly. Pushing his way through the crowd, Duo's hold on the brown haired boy never wavered. As soon as he made it inside he was greeted by the frantic screams of a young woman, which easily carried over the hustle and bustle of the busy people.

"Donovan! Donovan where are you!?" Duo grinned and hopped up onto a chair, still holding the boy in his arms. He let his ears guide his eyes, looking for the scared boys mother. In his arms, Donovan heard his mother and broke into a huge smile.

"Mommy!" he cried. A blonde haired woman came rushing up to Duo, who was still standing on the chair. Donovan squirmed in Duo's arms, reaching for his mother.
"Oh my baby!" the woman gushed, taking him from Duo's arms and hugging him tightly. She looked at Duo as the braided boy stepped down off the chair, tears in her eyes but a smile on her face.

"How can I thank you? You found my baby." Duo lifted a hand with a smile, silencing the woman.

"It's fine lady, I'm just happy to have helped," he told her. He let her thank him some more before he had to get going, heading across the room to get his bag. He grunted at the sheer weight of the bag, wobbling slightly as he made his way out of the airport.

"Ok…I've got only my bank card and no money for a cab…lets get walking." With a heavy sigh, Duo started walking, his mind telling him to head for the richer part of town.
