THE SIXTH PILOT SAGA:
Episode 3: "Kiss of Death?"
Sitting down on his bed, Hiro fairly ripped his dark green tank top off, preparing himself for a nice long sleep. Not for the first time in his life, he wanted to forget the rest of the world, leave it all behind him, desert this pain he felt. He was still trying to convince himself that this couldn't be true...but it was to late, his sub-consious had excepted it, and the rest of him would have to follow....Hiro was in love....really and truley in love. Hiro wouldn't have minded it this much had it not been the woman who had said she was going to kill him.
He was in love with Aria Mizugami, the beautiful Aria Mizugami.....except she could never be his, no she would never ever be his. Aria wanted to kill him..why? Hiro wasn't sure, but he also wasn't sure he needed to know. Aria was the center of his thoughts....it was wrong for him to feel this way about a woman who hated him enough to kill him, and yet, he felt this way. There was nothing that could be done about that.
Hiro sighed as he let himself succumb to a silent sleep, one in which dreams could not touch him...he hoped.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hiro awoke, his alarm blairing at him, commanding him to do so. It wasn't even a school day, he noted irritably. They had been at school but a week and Hiro allready tired of it all. He wished he was able to just fall into silence and sleep again, but he didn't. Instead, Hiro gathered himself, washed his face, hap-hazardly fixed his unorderly hair, and brushed his teeth, the taste of sleep leaving him at last.
Getting dressed was no chore either, all he need do was tug on his green tank top and shorts and he was ready. Functioning on an almost sub-concious level, Hiro grabbed his bag by the door and headed over to the Ishino Dojo. Hiro knew why he was doing this, he knew it was because he wanted to see her again...to see Aria, to perhaps fight with her again. She made him feel so alive on the battle feild and so at peace afterwards. Somehow he knew his life wasn't going to be the same without Aria in it. He would never be happy again if he couldn't see her....just once...
"Just once." he told himself, as he changed in the Dojo bathrooms. "Just this one time, I'll flirt with her for a while, tug her heart, see how she likes it..." No. He couldn't let himself do that...it wasn't fair to either of them. He had let himself fall in love, but he shouldn't punish her for it. No. Hiro stepped out of the bathroom stall, straightened his gi, and went out into the training rooms. As he crossed the hall, he found himself face to face with the very woman he had been seeking....Aria......
Aria was in the room as he had expected, apparently running over a set of forms involving practice kicks. Gracefully she landed form a jump kick, completing the sequence with a punch. Hiro blinked, she was better than he thought. As Aria spun aorund suddenly she stopped. Her eyes seemed to fully comprehend him this time, as though he had just entered her world. Hiro stepped forward and looked at her. The two took in each other, and Hiro could almost feel Aria's eyes on his body, as though her gaze had hands that could touch him...he watched her examine his broad shoulders, his muscular build, his hair as though she longed to play with it, and finally, her eyes fell on his face.
Hiro was spellbound, once again taking in the details of Aria's figure. This time he saw more, he could almost sense the way her muscles instinctivley moved when she breated in and out....even the sound of her breathing was comforting....though she wanted to kill him, he must remember that....god, he wanted to ask her why.....Hiro was broken from thought being brought to earth as he felt Aria's smooth, cool hands brush against his face. She was pushing his bangs out of the way, while the other hand supported his chin. The two seemed to be involved in some sort of exploration, as though they where swept up in each other's presence, unable to see or feel anything else. Hiro marveled at Aria's cool touch, feeling as though her fingers brought new life into him, as though returning the broken peice she had left with except now it was fixed....Hiro layed a hand on her shoulder, resting his fingers over it. Hiro realized Aria was looking deeply into his eyes, as though she was searching him for something she too had lost.
Incredible.
There was no other word for it, Hiro wanted to talk to her, but conversation that wasn't instinct would ruin the moment at this point. God, how he wanted to kiss her, inhale her breathing into his own body, as though it would breath full strength back into him, make him whole, at peace once more. Hiro had never felt like this, typical it seemed, but the sensations of this where overwelming him. Aria's gaze said something...she was sad, she needed something from him just as he needed her. This wasn't how people fell in love in the movies, but it felt better than any romance novel described. Hiro wanted to open his thoughts to her, express them through his eyes contact, as though she could see through him into his mind.
The moment was fantastic, it happened so fast, but it was all in slow motion. Hiro realized his hand had somehow made it's journey complete by resting itself in her hair, which, for once, was hanging loosley as though it too was realeased. His fingers played with it, as though it was silk threads, each strand precious. Aria was surprised. For a boy who supposedly had flown all over the universe, Hiro Yui's hands where in great shape, the feel of them perfect. Hiro felt as though he was meant to do this, he wanted to, the longing for Aria was deepening, as though this was music, he was caught up in it, not wanting it to end. Then it struck him that he could feel her breathing.
Indeed, her watched her shoulders slightly rise and fall as he knew the two of them where in sync now. The bound they where experiencing was powerful, drawing them to each other....this was music, music...the final note was....
A kiss. Hiro felt Aria's hand shiver, and before he could do or say anything, she had pulled away from him, as though purpously preventing contact of their lips. Hiro cursed himself. He should have kissed her...yet....he felt at peace again...something was calling him back to earth now.
"Hiro." Aria's voice broke the soft silence.
"Hai, Aria?"
"Hiro, I-I.....I....don't...I just....oh god. I'm loosing it."
It was as though to two where fighting to remember that they hated each other.
It slipped out of his mouth before he knew what else to say.
"You don't want to kill me, do you, Mizugami-sama."
Aria looked at him in shock.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. It just came out."
"You asked if I wanted to kill you."
"Hai, Aria-sama, I did."
"I...no. Hiro Yui, you're going to die." Aria said, her glare returning.
"Why?" Hiro asked, putting on his usual mask of emotionlessness. Aria didn't trust him? She didn't want him? Or maybe she just...
"worked for Zex..." Hiro muttered, barley seeing Aria's reaction.
"What do you know about-"
"Shhhh....Aria this is pointless. Do you want to kill me?"
"I....I...no."
"Good. Then why don't you come over to my house so we can talk about your...um...employer."
Aria gave him a searching look, not one of passion, but more like someone determined to detect forgery. Finally giving up, Aria agreed, and the two parted only to change.
Afterwards, the two got on a bus to get out of town to where Hiro's apartment was. It was a bit of a shock for Hiro to see Aria in something other than a seifuku or a Kung-Fu uniform. Her causal dress, it seemed, consited of a loose white shirt and black jean flares....something along those lines.
After entering Hiro's apartment, and getting the coffee maker set up, the two combatants/friends sat down on the couch. Aria sighed.
"Perhaps I should explain...."
"Why you're going to kill me?"
"Yes...." Aria had her arms folded under her chest, she seemed to be gripping the fabric of her shirt as though she saught comfort. Hiro wasn't sure if she was doing this becuase of him, or because she was on his turf.
"Hiro Yui, I was born into a long line of assasins. I was trained since birth to destroy my enemies. I...I was given this sword, a katana to kill people and protect myself."
"Do you work for Zex?" Hiro asked as though he wasn't sure he'd like the answer.
"Well, yes and no, I'm actually under Tries command right now....he sent me here to destroy you...and too...too.."
"Yes?"
Aria looked down, tears brimming on her sweet face. Hiro felt concern for her enter him, but he didn't move to comfort her.
"Treis wants me to seduce you."
"What?" Hiro was surprised by this...what if Aria didn't care about him at all, what if she was just acting? Could you really make someone feel like this by acting?
"You don't want to?" Hiro asked, a light sarcasim in his voice. Aria shook her head.
"No....I have to much respect for you...."
"That's good....I'd hate to see scum like Tries force you to do something like that to me of all people." Hiro was smiling now. Aria looked at him.
"I trust you Hiro Yui."
"I trust you, Aria Mizugami."
For a moment the two sat in silence, on opposite ends of the couch looking at each other. Hiro felt a calm feeling sweep over him, as he realised Aria had meant what she said. Then he noticed something. The look she was giving him.....he'd seen it before...on Relina's face....
Hiro thought about it....it was to good to be true....and yet...here she was, this gorgeous specimen of humanity, giving him a look of oure affection, love even. Hiro stirred a little nervously. Getting up, he walked over and poured some coffee for both of them. Turning around and placing the mugs on the table, Hiro noticed Aria was now standing up, examining his apartment.
"Nice place." she said simply, walking over to the bookcase and examining the various treasures Hiro stored there. Her eyes stopped as they focused on a photograph there in a golden frame. She reached out and lifted it off the shelf.
"Hiro, who are these people?"
"Huh? Oh, those are my friends."
The picture was off Hiro's previous brithday. Upon his turning 19, his friends decided to have a party for him. The picture had all five of the them, and Relina, during the "cake" fiasco. Quatre was wiping cake off his face, Wufei was brushing some icing off his shoulder, Duo was happily eating cake, despite the amount on his face, Trowa was handing a towel to Quatre, and he, Hiro, was being hugged by Relina, who was smiling, little flecks of cake on her hair. Hiro wasn't sure why he had that tired expression, but he guessed it was what he felt.
"Is this girl your girfriend?" Aria asked, a nervous giggle in her voice. Hiro blushed slightly and looked at Relina's picture.
"Not really. She likes to think she is."
"Oh...I see."
For the 5th time their eyes met, and Hiro could feel the blush in his cheeks reddening. Aria was very red to, he noticed, but this to him made her even more beautiful. Hiro instinctivly placed the picture back ont he shelf, and took a step twords Aria. The two were close together now, once again in a trance or curiousity. Hiro felt as though this was all instinct, his arms were around her now, one aorund her waist, the other playing with her hair. Aria had her arms aorund his neck, they where leaning closer and closer together, unable to stop...no they wouldn't stop themselves this time...Hiro felt his mind begging for this not to end, for just one kiss...one kiss....they both knew where this was going....
There eyes met once more. Aria whispered to Hiro.
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Hiro didn't have to consider.
"More than anything else." he whispered back.
Their eyes closed, 5...4...3...2..1....
Contact.
Hiro Yui and Aria Mizugami, despite being enemies where now involved in a passionate, hungry, kiss.
