~Last Chapter~

 

"Duo never goes to bed this really for a mission or not. We always had to drag him to bed," Quatre said and saw the others looked a little worried.

 

~Chapter 3~

 

“Maybe the baka finally is realizing that you can't stay up the whole night and then expect to be able to fight at top shape” said Heero trying to hide that he also was curious at the sudden change in Duo's attitude

 

“I think that there's something wrong with Duo. He didn't seem right when we were watching TV” said Quatre

 

“Seemed fine to me” said Wufei

 

“Come on, let's all go to bed we have to get up and be ready to move before sunrise” said Heero

 

“Alright, night guys” said Quatre

 

The four remaining pilots all headed up to their rooms.

 

This was one of the better and bigger safe houses that they had. Each of the pilots got their own room and Duo had chosen the only room with a bathroom attached. The others had to share the only other bathroom in the house. It was a small price to pay for the luxury of running water.

 

~In Duo's room~

 

 

Duo was up in his room trying to figure out a way that he could find the solider he over heard in the hanger during the mission. The biggest complication was not the other pilots; he could easily get around them, but not knowing the name of the guy that had mentioned the plague.

 

`I'm gonna get that little mother fucker. I swear that if it's the last thing I do I will avenge you Solo' said Duo making it a promise

 

Duo paced up and down his room trying to figure out a way that he could get his new mission to work.

 

After not coming to any conclusions Duo tried to lie in bed and sleep but sleep just would not come.

 

Duo tossed and turned all night and finally fell asleep an hour before it was time to head out to the next mission.

 

~Next day~

 

Trowa, Quatre, Wufei and Heero were all in the kitchen finding something small they could take with them so they could get moving.

 

“Anyone know if Duo is up yet?” asked Wufei

 

“I'll go check” said Quatre

 

Quatre headed up the stairs to go and make sure that Duo wasn't going to over sleep.

 

As soon as Quatre hit the landing at the top of the stairs he heard Duo talking. Quatre slipped quietly up to Duo's door and listened for Duo to see what was going on.

 

`I'll get the fucker, I swear to god I will get the fucker Solo' said Duo

 

Quatre had heard enough and knocked on Duo's door.

 

*Knock, Knock* “Duo? Are you a wake? We have to get going soon if we are going to make the meeting time” said Quatre

 

“Yeah! I'm awake! Be down in a few minuets” said Duo

 

“OK, remember to get something for breakfast” said Quatre

 

“Sure thing mom” said Duo

 

Quatre turned around and headed down stairs to finish his breakfast and make sure things were ready to leave as soon as Duo was ready to go.

 

Duo was packing the last of his things and getting his jesters mask in place before he headed down to see the other pilots.

 

 

 

 

Duo came bouncing down the stairs and into the kitchen.

 

“Everyone ready?” asked Heero

 

All the pilots confirmed and got the last of their things and headed out the door to their Gundams.

 

“Remember you have exactly three hours to get to the meeting point. Anyone not there will be left behind” said Heero

 

“And what happens if we get caught?” asked Duo sarcastically

“Then I will hunt you down and kill you” said Heero

 

“I think you'd have too much fun doing that” said Duo

 

Hn, said Heero. All the pilots separated and went in the direction of their Gundams. They were each heading a different way to the meet up point and Duo was the lucky devil to get the longest way there.

 

On the way to the meet up point Duo had a lot of time to think and he just couldn't get it out of his head. There had to be some way that he could find out what the name of the soldier was that he had over heard.

 

`Well I could hack into the system and see who was on duty that night but that might set off alarms in the systems. Plus there's no way to know if I have the right guy until I hear him talk'

 

Duo put in his controls and then switched on the auto pilot for a little while so that he could think.

 

`I can't really go asking any of the guys for help. Can't really ask for help from any one so I guess it's all up to me. But then again it's always just been up to me. If the guys ever knew about my background….. Let's not go there'

 

Duo started to get lost in his thinking when all of a sudden the alarms were going off saying that he had to pick up the controls again.

 

`So much for getting this mess sorted out right now'

 

Duo killed the auto pilot and took back the controls getting ready to fight gravity once again.

 

`At least this will give me something else to think of for a little while'

 

Duo's hands continued to fly over the controls as he was landing his Gundam in a spot reserved for him by the other pilots.

 

 

 

After landing Duo made sure that his Gundam was covered and headed to the meet up point when he heard people talking.

 

“You'll never guess what the boss told me today” said one soldier

 

“What that he was promoting you?” asked the other soldier laughing

 

“No, dumb ass” said the first soldier “That he's gonna try and spread another plague like the one on L2”

 

“How the fuck is he gonna do that?” asked the second soldier

 

“I don't know, but I wanna help him again when he does” said the first soldier

 

 

Duo had frozen in place when he heard the soldiers' talking. He just could not seem to move any of his limbs as much as he tried until his watch beeped at him giving him a warning.

 

`Mother fucking shit! Now I'm gonna have to do double time to make sure I get there on time!'

 

Duo started running his heart out. If he was the slightest bit late the guys would not wait for him. Instead they would be signing his death certificate and handing it to Heero to carry out.

 

`I am so dead!'

 

Duo kept up his pace until he ran right into something hard and unmovable. Then bounced on his ass.
