~Last Chapter~

 

They each got their jobs and then got ready to leave.

 

`This is my chance. I can't blow it' thought Duo `Solo, this has got to be the place where that rat bastard is. I promise, I'll get him this time. This time he's mine'

 

~Chapter 7~

 

All of the pilots had their own jobs that they were attending to. Quatre was the head of the team for this one and was going to be staying outside hidden incase the pilots got caught. He would attempt to either go in as rescue if it could be done or go for the kill. Trowa and Wufei would be partners and they would be taking out guards making sure Heero got all of the information as quickly as possible. Heero would be going after information in the computers. Duo would be planting bombs set to go off at the exact time Heero was finished.

 

To say that this had to be extremely planned out well would be an understatement. If one of Duo's bombs went off at any given time then Heero would have to abort what he was doing and get the fuck out.

 

“Alright, everyone knows what they are doing. Let's get this done as quickly as possible and then head to the safe house so that we can get some dinner” said Quatre

 

“No fooling around Duo” inserted Heero

 

“No worries man! I was just gonna bring my nail polish to do my nails while I plant the bombs” said Duo

 

“Maxwell, that fact that you would even think of doing your nails at a time like this does not help” said Wufei

 

“Chill man! Don't cha know a joke when you hear one?” asked Duo

 

“Alright, let's get our heads on this mission guys. We'll all meet back at the safe house by morning hours from the time the first bomb goes off. Anyone not there will be considered captured. Understand?” asked Quatre

 

All the pilots confirmed and they each had to get in their own `zones' to complete the mission.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Upon site of the building the pilots were going to enter they each went their own way to stash their Gundams.

 

Then they each had to make their own way to the base site and start with their missions.

 

Duo was starting in the highest level of the building and working his way down.

 

Heero went straight for where the map said the computers were. Heero was closely followed by Trowa and Wufei who would occasionally go down a side hall and take out unsuspecting guards.

 

 

 

 

About a half hour into the mission and things were going great. The team had meet with little resistance due mostly to the fact that the guards were short handed so they could never stick around too long in the same place and with Wufei and Trowa taking out other guards, well to say the least things were going great.

 

But you know the saying, `even the best laid plans go awry.' Well it seems as though our Gundam boys are not immune to this either. Because as soon as they were heading on their way out the intruder alarms starting going off.

 

“Shit!” swore Heero

 

“What the fuck did you do Yuy?!” hollered Wufei

 

“I tripped over a security alarm getting the last things I needed” said Heero

 

“Fuck!” said Wufei “I hope Maxwell got enough planted to cover our trail”

 

The three boys ran out of the room and started out going back to their Gundams when somebody all of a sudden shot out of a dark room.

 

Heero was the quickest and had his gun ready and against the intruders head. The slightest twitch, or even sneeze and their brains would be against the nearest wall.

 

“You are mine now” said Heero restraining the now hostage

 

Although the pilots did not like taking hostage's Heero wanted one this time incase they needed to use him as a get away.

 

Heero, Wufei and Trowa continued to make their exit. Without knowing where Duo was they could not tell when he would hit the detonator button. So they had to make a hasty exit to say the least.

 

 

 

 

Duo, unbeknownst to Wufei, Heero and Trowa, was actually on the same floor as them but with out having Wufei and Trowa to watch his back it was taking Duo more time to get clear of the building.

 

`God damn it all!' thought Duo `This was my only chance to get that mother fucker. Solo I hope that you don't mind waiting a bit more for revenge.'

 

As Duo was trying to make his way out of the building he remembered a short cut that he took to get to the top. As luck would have it part of the short cut was coming up.

 

“Express lane! Going down!” said Duo jumping into his short cut

 

 

 

The short cut put Duo right in front of the other three. Duo heard their voices and decided to wait for them so that he knew when they were all out and a safe distance away from the building.

 

As the others approached Duo could see that they had taken a prisoner.

 

“What did you do now Heero?” asked Duo announcing his presence to the group

 

“Tripped over a computer line” said Heero

 

“See you took a hostage also” said Duo

 

“To make sure that we got out of here” said Wufei

 

As the three came closer Duo could make out the face of the hostage and his blood started boiling. It was the guy he had heard and seen talking about the plague.

 

Duo took out one of his knifes and was going to throw it.

 

`This is finally it, Solo, get ready cause revenged is as good as served' thought Duo

 

“You fucking rat bastard! You killed him!” shouted Duo going after the hostage

 

“Killed who? Your bunny?” asked the hostage

 

“NO! THE ONLY FRIEND I EVER HAD! Now your gonna meet the God of Death personally” said Duo

 

Duo began to lunge at the hostage while Heero, Trowa and Wufei tried to piece everything together.

 

The hostage pulled his wrist out of Heero's grasp, found his belt and fired his gun, *BAM!* right at Duo's mid section.

 

Duo fell to the floor grabbing his midsection.

 

“Duo!” they all shouted

 

Heero then took out his own gun and fired one shot right at the back of the hostages head. The hostage was dead before the gun ever went off.

 

Heero then ran over to Duo and checked for a pulse or breathing of any sort.

 

 

He found nothing.

 

“He's dead” said Heero confirming what no one wanted to know

 

Then Heero took the detonator out of Duo's pocket and started heading back out.

 

“Come on, we still have to complete the mission” said Heero

 

“Change of plans though, Trowa, you go and find Quatre. I know you know where he's hiding. Let him know what's happened. Then meet us back at the safe house before the first rays of sun” said Wufei

 

What the other pilots did not know was that as Heero had reached into Duo's pocket he had left behind a blue rock he had always kept with him.

 

The pilots had cleared the building and they were safe so Heero had hit the detonator button.

 

As Heero hit the button you could hear a very clear “NO! DUO!” coming from Quatre.
