Part I: Anastasia
Chapter 1: Redemption for Past Mistakes
Anastasia felt the temple shake as another explosion hit close. She
looked at Elizabeth who gave her a small smile as they rushed on.
"Look on the bright side," Elizabeth said cheerily, "We don't have to
worry about the Christmas Eve dance anymore!"
"That was sick!" Catherine said looking disgusted. Anastasia simply
shook her head. Trust Elizabeth to try and cheer up a hopeless
situation. They finally reached their destination, each falling on
their knees. Anastasia looked to Elizabeth as if for help, but
Elizabeth looked just as sad. Not surprising considering that she'd
been betrayed too. She gave Elizabeth a small encouraging smile which
Elizabeth returned.
"Friends forever?"
"Friends forever and ever!"
"Right up til the end!"
"But, isn't the end now?"
"Shut up Elizabeth!" Anastasia felt she could do this now. Her friends
were by her side. She closed her eyes and offered her sword up
reverently. The small blue sword that was her birthmark glowed
brightly.
"I Anastasia of the north kingdom, give my life for this land. I leave
this sword for my successor. In the hope of revenge against this
enemy, I leave this sword that they may live to fight for peace." As
these final words were uttered, the continent exploded leaving nothing
behind but a faint echo.

"Congratulati ons, it's a boy!" The nurse exclaimed as she awarded the
new mother with a little bundle. The woman looked over the precious
child, her eyes looking the way only a mother would look at her first
child.
"He's perfect." She said as if she were in awe. It was almost as if he
had come from the heavens himself.
"Have you come up with a name for him yet?"
"His name will be Heero."
"What a nice name." It was at that moment that the mother noticed a
blue sword that she assumed was his birthmark on her child's shoulder.

Heero looked at the pretty thingy above his head. He wished that it
would spin. He looked to his mother and saw her sleeping. He pouted.
He really really wished the pretty thing would start spinning.
Suddenly, it began to spin and Heero giggled happily. Turning over,
his mother caught sight of the turning mobile. Funny, she thought to
herself, I don't remember turning the mobile on.

Heero was walking home happily after a day of kindergarten. I can't
wait to get home, he thought to himself, I'm so hungry. Suddenly a
group of bullies stepped out in front of him. He took a cautious step
back.
"Oh look, it's a kindergarten boy on his way home from school." The
biggest boy said snidely. "Rushing home to mommy?"
Heero began to take another step back when suddenly he stopped. Why
was he letting these bullies think he was afraid of them? Bullies were
cowards anyway. He could probably kick their butts with both hands
tied behind his back. "I'm not scared of you." He said his hand
curling into a fist.
The biggest boy grabbed him by his collar. "What'd ya say boy?"
"I said," Heero began slowly, "I'm not afraid of you."
The boys lip curled and he looked evilly at Heero. His yellow
glow-in-the-dark teeth caught sunshine, and his bad breathe washed
over Heero. He made to throw Heero to the ground. But when he let go
of Heero's collar, he suddenly felt a shove and he flew back. Heero
landed safely on the ground. The other guys looked scared as they ran
off from the little boy.

Heero woke up suddenly from a dream holding his head. That dream, he
thought to himself, it happened again. A best friend named Elizabeth.
A queen named Melina. Heero shook his head slightly. He'd heard that
dreams come from your subconscious. So was his subconscious trying to
tell him something? He slumped in his bed still pondering over the
dream.
Silently from a far away place, a small girl watched silently. "It's
almost time." She said softly.
Another person watched from the heavens. "He cannot be allowed to know
the truth. Anastasia's successor must not be allowed to live."
