I feel the people's sorrow

Creeping in thick and deadly

Like a poisonous sludge

Set forth to destroy

All the hope and happiness

That might have remained

Replacing it with pain and grief

And beneath the sorrow

 

A storm is brewing

Silent and deadly

About to unleash

Anger and hatred born of pain

Rage and bitterness born of grief

Upon an unsuspecting world

My heart aches for those who are suffering

I fight with all I have

Against the rising storm

But it's not enough

To turn the dark tide that is rising

Threatening to consume us all

 

If giving my own life would bring peace

I would gladly do so

But I see the bitter truth

It wouldn't make a difference

So I keep fighting

Holding onto hope

That one day we can turn the tide

And find peace for all

And those who feel sorrow

May find happiness at last
