Schism by Tool
//I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smoldering. Fundamental differing.
Pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion
Disintegrating as it goes testing our communication
The light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so
We cannot see to reach an end crippling our communication.//
'Do I need her or do I just want her?' Heero thought that as he made his way through the Red Light District. His blue eyes looked haunted as he made his way back home.
Heero walked down the street, the sound of his shoes making a slight click on the pavement. He huddled into his jacket as the cold North Sea wind assailed the city of Copenhagen. It was late night, early morning hours. He was the only one walking down the street, alone in his thoughts.
The night was purely dark, the only illumination was the streetlights. Heero looked at the sky. The moon was quarter-full, obscured by clouds. Heero turned the corner, the seedy section turning into the high-class tourist section.
Heero closed his eyes, letting the memories trace his steps back to his resting place. Heero smiled as the sweetness of the past filtered through his mind, the past where everything had been alright. He abruptly opened his eyes when he saw those sea-bluish-green eyes in his mind.
He winced as the pounding of in his head started to bother him. Heero dug his fingers into the lining of his coat. He would not think of her, no way no how.
However, his thoughts denied the wishes of his mind as he projected a mental image of her. Heero mused aloud, "She would have loved this city."
Heero then shook his head as he approached his building. Walking in, Heero waved to the doorman. He jumped into the elevator as a blonde-haired woman began to hurry towards him.
Safely in the elevator, Heero sighed. He thought, 'This is becoming a little too much.'
//I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame it doesn't mean I don't desire to
Point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over.
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication//
Heero hurried out of the elevator, his hands still fisted inside of the pockets of his peacoat. He swiftly unlocked the door and went inside of the room. Once inside, Heero laid against the door, his heavy breathing the only sound in the still room.
He let out a relieved sigh as she left his thoughts. He was not supposed to think of her, never to think of her. That was why he was here, to get away from her, from everything...
Regaining his composure, Heero's customary mask settled in as he took off his jacket and hung it on the coat rack. He then walked into the kitchen, his stomach growling as it reminded him that the last time he ate was at 7 in the morning. Making himself a sandwich, Heero went back into the other room, sitting down at his computer.
//The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it.
Finding beauty in the dissonance.//
As he checked his email, Heero's hunger receded. Moving the sandwich to the far end of the table, Heero tried to concentrate on the email from Quatre, but it didn't work.
He found his thoughts swirling in his head as the incessant pounding in his head grew insistent. He wanted to forget, to forget everything, to forget the past, but it wouldn't let him. He knew he had to let go, to move on but it was so hard.
Duo had moved on; with Hilde, Duo had found that anything was possible. However, Heero found that it wasn't possible for him, for he had nothing else but the recent past.
//There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting
I've done the math enough to know the dangers of our second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow, and strengthen our communication.//
Heero walked over to the window, leaning on the window ledge. He whispered, "I tried, I know I have tried."
Rain started to fall, as if the weather was showing sympathy for his pain. Feeling the pain welling up, Heero tried to quell the feelings inside of him, but they were just too strong.
Sobbing as he remembered the feel of her in his arms, her bright eyes, Heero slid to the floor as the memories of that night assailed his fragile mind. Grasping the window ledge as he tried to lift himself up, Heero screamed, "RELENA!!!!!!!!"
//Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any
Sense of compassion
Between supposed lovers/brothers//
