//There's a shadow just behind me
Shrouding every step I take
Making every promise empty
Pointing every finger at me
Waiting like a stalking butler
Who upon the finger rests
Murder now, the path that must be
Just because the son has come//
He was in a new city, this time in St. Petersburg. The city was old; its fragile beauty had been crumbling for centuries but there were still remnants from the times before the space colonies had been built. It was October here; he had thought that St. Petersburg would be as cold as Moscow but it was a bit warmer and reminded him of the autumn he spent in Oslo a year ago.
It was early evening; the streets were filled with workers going home, people going to do some latter day shopping, and those who were getting ready to have supper or go to a play. He blended in with the group of people with his black pea coat, slacks, and boots. However, he was being followed. He knew it, despite the years his instincts were still finely honed and he was still as fearsome as he was as a pilot. He merely waited for his followers to show themselves. He would always have enemies; he had been a gundam pilot and the husband of Relena Darlian. They were too many people who would love to eliminate him.
//Jesus won't you fucking whistle
Something but the past is done
Jesus won't you fucking whistle
Something but the past is done//
He opened the door to his hotel room. He enjoyed expensive hotels; they never talked to the press, accommodated his desire to be left alone, and they never asked questions. The room was quiet elegance; the color theme was blue and white with accents of green and gold. The furniture was a bed, desk, bar, a lamp and the softest carpet that man could buy. Slipping off his shoes, the man walked over to the bar. After critically weighing which liquor he should drink, he chose to make himself a vodka tonic on the rocks. He turned around and paused, unsure of what to do. He was tired of running, tired of trying to escape the past.
The man sat down on his bed with a sigh. He was so tired now; it had been years since everything happened and he believed that with time, he would be able to forget but of course, nothing ever works the way that you wish. The past would be his cross to bear.
//Why can't we not be sober
I just want to start this over
And why can't we drink forever
I just want to start this over//
Yes, he had heard the news of her remarkable recovery almost two and a half years ago. It was the feel good story of the millennium and the press spun it as much as they could despite being denied access by Zechs Merquise and the rest of the Preventers. He snorted, despite his dislike for Zechs Merquise, he found himself respecting him and his protection of Relena. The man was ambitious and he could have used Relena to propel himself into politics and into a position of power but he chose to protect his sister from the wolves instead.
The world itself had seemed to learn a lesson. Paparazzi did not chase Relena around anymore and her privacy was definitely respected. However, the questions began; where is Heero Yuy? Why hasn't her husband come back? The rumors of him being involved were back again despite it being proved that he had never had anything to do with the conspiracy.
//I am just a worthless liar
I am just an imbecile
I will only complicate you
Trust in me and fall as well
I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave
I will work to elevate you
Just enough to bring you down//
The click of the door took him from his thoughts. A hooded figure entered the room and Heero took a sip of his drink with his left hand as his right hand drew out his revolver. The figure threw back the hood as a feminine voice laughed. She said, "Why is it that everything between the two of us involve guns?"
Heero shook his head and blinked as he looked at the woman in front of him before hissing, "How did you find me?"
The woman shook out her blonde hair before replying, "I simply asked Duo six months ago to take me to where you were but you move around a lot."
She walked over to the bed and sat down. She patted the spot next to her as she smiled up at him. He acceded to her request, sitting next to her. She whispered, "I still love you, Heero."
//Mother Mary, won't you whisper?
Something but the past is done
Mother Mary, won't you whisper?
Something but the past is done//
She sighed as Heero’s arm instinctively came around her shoulders. She had missed him all of these years. Heero sighed as he looked at her. The years had been kind to her, she was in her thirties but she still looked like a twenty-five year old. Heero whispered, "It is dangerous for you to be here, Relena."
Relena frowned, as she slightly moved away from Heero. She levelly stated, "It has always been dangerous for the two of us to be together. That will never change."
Heero got off of the bed as he ran a hand through his hair. His eyes looked coldly determined as he said, "You have to go Relena."
Relena shot up as she replied, "I refuse to ever leave your side again, Heero. It’s been five years, never again."
Heero just looked at Relena while Relena continued, "I was basically held prisoner in a mental hospital, and it took me years to recover. Heero, all I'm asking is to just be with you."
He looked away as he put his hands in his pockets. He said, "I can't allow you to put yourself in danger again. You're too important, I failed before. I can't fail again."
Relena eyes became wide as she digested what he was saying. She stammered, "Wh-ha-at?"
Heero stated, "You're too important for the world, even now as a retired politician for me to reenter your life after I failed before."
//Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over
And why can't we sleep forever?
I just want to start this over
why?//
Her chest was heaving, her aqua-blue eyes flashed as she looked at him. She screamed, "Screw the world, all I needed was you! Only you, Heero Yuy! I don't care if I die, all I want is you in my life."
Heero stared at Relena, the coldly determined look in his eyes giving way to something else. Relena continued screaming as she began to pace the room, "I'll never be a politician again, I'll never have anything to do with all of that. All I need is to be with the man I love."
Relena stopped right in front of Heero. Her hand reached out to touch his face as she whispered, "Just say yes." Heero lovingly held her hand there as he rubbed it against her cheek. A tearful smile came to Relena's face as a single tear coursed down her cheek.
//I am just a worthless liar
I am just an imbecile
I will only complicate you
Trust in me and fall as well
I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave//
Abruptly, Heero's free arm wrapped around Relena's waist as his lips came down on hers. His tongue licked at her lips before Relena's mouth opened, giving him access. Relena's arms wrapped around neck and she wiggled against him as his tongue explored her mouth, doing battle with her tongue. Then without warning, Heero picked Relena up, depositing her beneath him on the bed.
Relena happily sighed as Heero's mouth left hers, traveling down her neck as his hands made themselves busy removing her shirt and bra. He whispered, "Oh, I have missed you," as his hands skimmed her sides. He frowned as he saw the old scar on her abdomen as he drew her pants and panties off of the rest of her body. After Relena was naked, Heero removed his clothes before rejoining her in the bed. He lingeringly kissed her again, as his hands brought her close to him again. Relena whispered, "It’s been too long." Heero gave her no reply as lips explored her body, trying to rediscover everything he hadn't seen in almost 10 years. Relena's hand went everywhere as her moans encouraged Heero.
//Trust me
Trust me
Trust me
Trust me
Trust me//
Heero moved back up her body, licking his lips. His hands entwined in her hair as his lips found hers again. He was fully naked, her legs were wrapped around his waist, and her hands were grasping his shoulders. He broke the kiss and looked down at her. Her eyes were closed as her hands drew circles on his back. Heero stated, "I'm not going to wait any longer." Relena replied, "Go ahead," as Heero entered her. His thrusts were long and hard and fast as his lips began to suck on a spot on her neck. Relena dug her fingers into his shoulders as his thrusts accelerated.
Relena flung her hair back as Heero bit her shoulder. She cried out as her climax came upon her. Heero grunted as he felt his coming as well. He burrowed his head in her shoulder as he thrusted, his orgasm coming over him. He grunted as he gave himself up to the intense pleasure...
//Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start things over
And why can't we sleep forever?
I just want to start this over
why?//
It all felt like a dream when Heero woke up. But as he went to roll over, he felt a warm body pressed against his back. Heero eased onto his back as he looked at the woman next to him. Relena was deep in sleep, her blond hair down her back. He marveled, despite growing up fast and spending two turmoil-filled decades of life, Relena still managed to look innocent. He started to stroke her hair as he thought of how much he missed her. It was almost a decade since he last had her in his arms and Heero wondered how he lived without her. They had spent all night making up for all of the time they had lost but Heero knew that he would always regret the time that they had missed.
He squinted as he yawned. He kissed Relena's cheek as he moved to get up. He whispered, "We'll never be apart again."
