Note: Hey, here I am with a new story, this time a GW story, with my favorite pairing: Heero and Relena. This is my first attempt in the GW world so bear with me; I promise I won't disappoint you. But before we proceed, I must warn you of Heero's extremely OOC'ness, and before you start freaking out I have to say that all this has a purpose, I promise hehe. Also, the events in this story are placed somewhere in Europe, I just couldn't decide where exactly, so I did some research and finally went for Ireland (though I find it hard to imagine Heero with an Irish accent lol)

I wanna thank my friend Lauren for all her love and support, and of course for helping me out with this piece. Oh, I almost forget: check out her profile (laurell-chan) for the awesome fanart she's made for my stories. Luv ya, girl!

Now on with the story. Enjoy your reading and don't forget to review.

Chapter 1

Heero walked up the drive, hands full of papers, pencil between his teeth. The day had been a long one. The usual round of students throwing fits and smarting off. Sometimes he wondered why he'd even wanted to teach music to a roomful of kids that could care less. But then he'd come across a child that had no self confidence at all, no belief that anything they could do was special. A child that reminded him of himself at that age, before music had become his salvation, his strength. To watch that child grow strong and confident as music worked its magic was always the thing that led Heero back to square one. Teaching music was like giving a gift of the soul and every time it happened for one, it made him realize why he'd decided to teach all over again.

He fumbled for his house key, dropping a book he held under his arm and swore. Finally able to open the door, he placed his papers on the table and went back to pick up his book.

"Hi, Heero!", he heard a voice sing out as he looked up from getting the dropped book and he smiled and threw up his hand in greeting.

"Great.", he mumbled under his breath. It was Mrs. Darlian, his neighbor. She was always "looking in" on him, always clucking around, making sure he had enough to eat, things of that sort. He didn't mind her checking up on him; it seemed he always drew that in older women, it was just today he wasn't in the mood for conversation. He wanted to get inside, take a shower, have his evening meal and maybe read for just a bit before bed. His head hurt, he was tired and hungry.

"Heero?", Mrs. Darlian was tapping at his door. Heero groaned, laid down his book on the table with his papers and turned toward the door, smiling.

"Hi, Mrs. Darlian, how are you?", he asked as he walked to the door and opened it, inviting her inside.

"I'm fine, Heero, thank you. Just got home from work, eh?", she asked, smiling and he nodded and indicated she should take a seat.

"I'll be back with some tea in a second, Mrs. Darlian. Just have a seat.", he said.

"Oh, no. No, no, no, Heero", she smiled and touched his arm. "I'm not staying and I certainly don't want to put you to any trouble. I know you're tired after such a busy day with all the kids you teach and I shouldn't even be bothering you but I had a favor to ask you.", she said.

"Really, Mrs. Darlian. It's no trouble.", he said and started for the kitchen once more.

"Heero? Did you hear me, son? I said no tea, just a favor.", she admonished and Heero smiled.

"I heard you, I'm sorry. What was it you needed?", he asked her. He felt guilty for having wished her away in the beginning. She did him no harm. It was just he'd had a very long day and was tired and hungry.

"Well, as I said. It's a favor, you know. And you don't have to do it by any means. I know you're busy and it would take up some of your free time but I just hoped you'd give it a try.", she smiled. "My granddaughter is coming to stay with me for the spring. My grandson Milliardo and his wife are traveling and Relena didn't really want to go with them. It's been nearly a year since I last saw the girl and I'm looking forward to spending some time with her. She's a lovely young woman you know.", she smiled at him.

"Oh no...", he thought to himself. "Not another matchmaking in the works..."

"That sounds very nice for you. When will she be arriving?", Heero asked out loud.

"Will be tomorrow. I have my husband going down to meet the train. If you don't mind, I'd love to have you over for dinner tomorrow evening, Heero. I'd love for you to meet Relena.", Mrs. Darlian offered.

"Oh, that's so nice of you to offer, really, but I'm so busy right now. I've posted a notice at the school to teach piano privately, you know and I have my first interviews tomorrow.", he explained.

"I'm well aware of what you're doing, Heero. What I was going to ask as the favor wasn't dinner, son. It was to employ you to teach Relena music. She's got a lovely singing voice and has always wanted to play the piano. I saw your notice when I was at the market the other day. You posted it there, too. It would be perfect for the both of you. Extra money for yourself and company for Relena. What do you say, Heero?", she smiled up at him.

"Well, I suppose I could. I don't see why not. Shall I speak to her about it tomorrow then?", he asked her and she smiled and reached out to pat his arm.

"So you WILL come to dinner?”, she asked and he smiled and nodded.

"I'd love to and also would love to meet your granddaughter. Thank you for asking.", he said as he walked her to the door.

"Heero? When are you ever going to bring a young girl into your life? I worry so much about you. Don't you get lonely, son?", she asked as she reached the door.

"Ah, no. I'm fine. I have the children to keep me busy. I'm writing music for the school play now that the older children are putting on and that leaves me very little free time.”, he said with a grin. "Are you trying to find a match for me?", he asked, laughing.

"Heero Yuy. You don't need ME to find you a match. Heavens, no. You're quite a handsome young man and very intelligent. Nice manners, too. Your mother has my blessing, Heero. She did a spectacular job of raising you.", she smiled.

"Why thank you, Mrs. Darlian. My mom will be happy to know I put her teachings to good use!", he laughed.

"I worry, Heero. It's not right for a young man to be so lonely. I never see you leave this house unless you go to work or to church. You need fun and happiness in your life. I realize you get that from your music, from the children. But a handsome young man like yourself needs a special young lady to lavish attention on him.", she said with a shake of her head.

"Ah, don't worry about me, Mrs. Darlian. I'm fine, really. You're very kind to say those things, though.", he said softly.

"Ok, Heero. You can't say I don't try, eh? See you around 7:30'ish tomorrow, then?", she smiled.

"See you then and thank you.", he said as he watched her walk down the steps.

"No. Thank you, Heero. You'll be helping me out as well as Relena and maybe yourself as well.", she said and waved a goodbye to him as she walked back across to her yard.
