Relena wandered into the darkened room, wondering yet again where she'd put her coat. From the moonlight filtering in through the windows, she could just make out the shape of coats piled atop the couch at the room's center. The outline of a lamp accompanied it and she moved toward it slowly, attempting to side step anything that might cause her to trip.

 

She reached the rug in front of the couch with out mishap, a fact that re-assured her greatly. Another step. She could feel the toe of her shoe catch under something, almost causing her to trip. She jerked it out, hoping she hadn't scuffed her leather heels.

 

“Ow!”

 

“Sorry,” she replied, thinking nothing of it.

 

The realization that there were people there only came to her after she'd switched the lamp on. She turned from the piles of coats and wraps to find Heero dozing in Duo's arms. Both of them were stark naked.

 

Duo grinned sheepishly. “Um… Relena?”

 

She had no words to describe how she felt, no idea how to verbalize the sheer amount of hurt and anger and jealousy. She starred down at them, watching Duo sit back on his elbows with Heero's head on his chest, and all that registered in her mind was disbelief.

 

“I'll have my coat back, if you please…”

 

Duo laughed quietly, nervously, trying not to wake Heero, and pulled the edge of the coat from beneath them. He handed it to her without a word and watched her back as she made her way toward the door.

 

“Goodnight Relena.”

 

She clicked the light off and only the sound of her heels told him that she kept moving.

 

“Goodbye.” She whispered the word softly, eyes closed against the tears.

 

The door clicked shut in the darkness.
