Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Untouched ❯ Setting Pride Aside... ( Chapter 2 )
Author's Notes: Okay, I really had no intention of -ever- continuing this... but seeing as I got reviews on it, I've turned all happy-like and ..stuff... and I've decided that it could be a cute DuoxWufei (2x5) fic, don't you agree? Well, here's the continuation... same warnings apply.

In less than a second, Duo was by his side as Wufei once again tried to move. He frowned when his actions only recieved him a biting glare from the Chinese man, and stepped back. He certainly didn't want to annoy Wufei, but it was clear to him that the Chinese pilot needed a little more help than what he would let on. Duo frowned, almost a pout, and Wufei just watched him for a moment.
"Maxwell, I told you I didn't need any help," Wufei said calmly, but firmly.
"So?" Duo asked, pouting and folding his arms. He turned his head away from the other pilot and closed his eyes, his braid swinging behind him. "It's not as if I would tell anyone. Besides, why the Hell would I say something like that. 'Hey guys... Oh, yea, did you know I also helped out Wufei the other night??'. Get real."
Wufei's brow knitted and he looked in thought as the American held his pose for a moment before opening one eye and looking at him. Duo broke from his pose, made a frustrated noise, stomped his foot and asked, "Why isn't it working?! Jesus, what the Hell are you made out of, stone?! Can you trust NOBODY, or is it just you are too stupid to realize a good opportunity to ask for help from a FRIEND?"
The Chinese pilot clearly had not expected the outburst--his face had taken on a look of shock before he lifted a sleek eyebrow high. No one had ever called Wufei a friend or had been called a friend of his. He looked as if he was thinking before Duo sighed heavily and flopped down into the seat again.
"You clearly don't get out enough," Duo mumbled, steepling his fingers against his knee. "You're starting to be like Trowa."
"Maxwell, I don't take kind to your friendly beating," Wufei narrowed his eyes. "Besides, I don't need any of your damned help. Just stay away from me... And don't call me your friend; I don't even like you!"
When Duo's eyes lifted up from the floor, they widened slightly, as if something had gotten to--crushed--the Angel of Death, himself. Wufei watched the reaction with cold, hardened eyes and sealed lips. Duo looked as if he were lost in stupor for a few more seconds before his eyes narrowed.
"Fine then, Chang." The braided pilot lifted himself up out of the chair and walked behind the couch and passed it, on the way to the stairs. At the bottom of the stair case, he stopped and hissed, "Then don't call me when you're in need."
Silence enveloped Wufei for a moment while cold, blackened eyes watched the floor with found tensity. It took a few seconds before the sound of Duo's door being slammed reached Wufei's ears. He winced slightly at the noise.
"What's up with him?" yawned a voice, and Wufei turned to see Quatre who was headed at the kitchen. But he had stopped, watching the Chinese pilot. "I thought he wasn't much of a morning person."
Wufei's eyes went to the clock, amazed when the numbers only read 8:25 AM. Wufei looked at the floor.
"He's not." He replied, sullen. Wufei took a moment to gather himself and all of his strength before he stood up. The clothing he wore was long enough not to show any bruises while he manipulated his body the best he could toward the stairs.
Quatre watched him suspiciously as he passed. "Wufei?"
The Chinese boy froze, and Quatre took that as an indication that he was listening.
"You're limping."
--------------------------------------
Duo lay on his bed as he watched the ceiling with a glare. He hated everything that had happened. Everything that Wufei had said. But most of all, he hated what he had said. He didn't mean to blow up on him so badly, but what the Chinese boy had said had gotten to him, for some stupid reason. He folded his arms behind his head and glared more intently at the ceiling.
This is so stupid of me... What the Hell was I thinking? Pulling some stupid stunt like that... And why did I feel that strange feeling when he said that? Heero says mean things like that all the time and it never made me act stupidly... And why am I beating myself down?? ...Oh God, I need to stop this insanity...I..
A knock sounded on the door, and Duo nearly jumped out of his skin. After he had managed to control his impulses, a voice came out, "What?"
"...Duo, it's Wufei.."
Duo was shocked to hear the Chinese pilot's voice faltering, but he smiled slightly and stood up. In moments, the door was opened and the Chinese boy had been pulled into the room and sat on the bed. Duo hovered over him, looking tensed as he just watched Wufei's face. "...What?"
Wufei stared at him for a moment and nearly faltered, before he whispered something.
"Nani?" Duo asked, looking confused. Or, for the most part, looking like he normally did.
"...I said... I'm sorry," Wufei didn't look at him, but if he had, he would've seen the look on some happiness on Duo's face.
The American pilot sat down on the bed with him, grinning like a pure maniac. "Forgiven."
"What?" Wufei looked up at him, as if shocked to take in his facial features.
"I said you were forgiven, what did you think I said?" Duo raised a brow, still grinning.
Wufei went to open his mouth, but he couldn't find anything to say, so he closed it again. Duo smirked and sat behind the Chinese pilot, draping his arms over the other boy's shoulders and letting out a giggle. Wufei's face was full of shock, and possibly the things that he'd never think the other could have... lust and confusion.
"D-duo... Why are you... sitting... behind me?" Wufei stuttered, his coal black eyes widened ever further. Duo let out a single giggle and shrugged, which slightly pulled the other boy closer to him.
"'Dunno, why, 'Fei?" He asked playfully, fully aware of the way his antics made the other boy want to jump out of his skin. He smirked and pulled on the black sash that held the long locks of Wufei's beautiful hair. The other pilot went stiff, completely uncertain when he began to speak.
"..Duo... you... pulled my ponytail.." The Chinese boy had never seemed so uncertain before, and Duo pulled the sash again, this time having his success. Black tendrils of soft hair floated down around his beautiful face. He turned to look up at Duo, his eyes shining with something close to whatever emotions he was feeling.
Duo stared at him a moment, having forget what he was going to say. A long, silent moment went on with them only staring at eachother, until Duo leaned in and their lips met for what felt like an eternity. Duo wrapped an arm around Wufei, pulling him gently closer while being careful of his wounds. At that exact moment, Wufei broke off the kiss and looked up in uncertainty at Duo. He had never felt so safe before with another human... but... His mind wandered back to last night's events.
He shut them away and pushed back the betrayed feeling that had made it's way up into his spine. He didn't notice until a few moments after, that Duo had pulled him onto his lap and was sort of...cradling him gently. He felt the other boy rocking back and forth lightly, and his first thought was to be offended that yet again, Duo had done his services without first consulting him. But this time, he didn't think about that... because all of the negetive feelings just drifted away, and he was floating in calmed comfort.
He let out a peaceful sigh and snuggled up to the Angel of Death's chest. Duo looked down on him and smiled slightly, his mind going past anything else but what was happening. He hadn't a clue what had gone on, hadn't a clue about how they got there, but he knew that he wasn't going to let go... not anytime soon.
-----------------------------------------
Wufei stirred under the covers, mumbling something tiredly about not wanting to wake up. He shifted slightly ontop of a nice big pillow... He shifted slightly again. No, it wasn't a pillow. He opened his mouth and licked his lips, finding something strange on his tongue that didn't taste like spit. It tasted more like shampoo...
Nnngh... what the Hell...?
He blinked open his eyes, to find he was covered in chesnut hair. He, being one not to overreact that quickly, spit out whatever was in his mouth and looked curiously at it-- More hair.
He couldn't understand where, exactly, he was, but he judged he must be somewhere with Duo. All he remembered were the last few seconds of the kiss... then he somewhat blacked out. He shifted again and opened his eyes fully, looking up to find a very amused pair of violet eyes staring at him. He blinked several times in a row, too shocked to move, and looking like a deer in headlights. A chuckle came to his ears, before he pulled back slightly and looked up at Duo. Too shocked to say anything, he blinked once more.
"..You slept for quiet a while, ne." Duo was half grinning, half smirking... and all laughing. Wufei wrinkled his nose and blinked groggily, trying to find a voice. "...I was beginning to wonder if you'd gone comatose on me, Wu. Everyone else left... we got a couple of interesting looks when they came in to tell me they were going. Heero raised a brow and said nothing.."
Wufei's face immediantly took on a kind of pissed off look, but Duo didn't seem to notice. "Trowa did sort of the same thing, but he raised a brow, opened his mouth, and said, 'No comment'. Quatre was more shy, so he just said what he came to say, blushed, and left." Duo looked happily at him, smiling now. "Did you sleep well?"
Wufei licked his lips, finally finding his voice. "...I guess." He looked around. "...What happened, and what time is it...?"
Duo blinked and looked at his clock. "It's 2:05, and nothing really happened... you just kind of kissed me, curled up, and slept," Duo shrugged.
"You call that nothing?" Wufei stared at him wide-eyed. "A kiss, nothing? Didn't it even mean anything?? One single thing?"
Wufei's looks took on something of shock, pain, and heavy realization. Duo's mouth dropped wide open. "..No, Wu-- I mean... Yea... I mean... Jesus, of course it did! What are you being so defensive about, I didn't do anything at all--"
Wufei acted as if he hadn't heard him. "You used me! Exactly like he did, you used me... Or, you were planning to. Planning to lure me in and use me again. I must be dumb for thinking that someone actually does care... Maybe I deserved to be raped, being so stupid! How could I degrade myself like this??"
He tried to pull himself up and get away, but Duo grabbed him by the wrist and wrapped an arm around his waist. "Wu, it did mean something to me, okay?" Wufei's back was against his chest, and he couldn't see his face, but he could almost hear the tears beginning to fall. He placed his chin on Wufei's shoulder, kissing his neck gently. "I'm not going to use you, Wufei... Please, please tell me you understand that."
Wufei's body shook slightly and Duo pulled him closer, against him. He nuzzled against him, feeling the other boy's body calming slightly. Duo smiled nearly sadly and he nudged his face against Wufei's cheek gently. He placed a kiss on the Chinese pilot's jaw line, kissing a trail to his ear.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, kissing his ear. "...Forgive me, 'Fei. Please, forgive me..?"
Wufei had almost forgotten what it felt like, to be loved. It'd been so long ago that he'd felt the feeling. But even then, it wasn't real love... only a puppy love that had been sprung from a forced marriage. He could never tell real love... was this it?
God, please don't let him see me crying... Wufei thought, staying silent to Duo's gentle questionings, until he knew the answer.
He pulled Duo's hands from being around his waist, and for a moment, Duo froze. He turned around in the American's lap, facing him as he thought about his answer for a second. He stared into the violet depths, searching for any negative emotion. He found only true feelings, and decided to go with his heart on this one. He suddenly wrapped his arms around Duo's waist, burying his face in his chest and staying like that for a moment.
Duo's arms slowly found themselves around a shaking and huddled Wufei, holding the other closer to him.
"...Don't let me go, Duo. ...Please, please don't let me go.."
Duo heard the whisper and was overcome with shock. Just moments before, the pilot had been teary-eyed and ready to leave. Now, he was asking that Duo never let go. He sat in silence for a moment, when he made his choice.
"I won't." I won't.
