When the car full of military men had pulled away, she yanked off the wig and beret. Duo looked back at her. "H-how did you-?"
told you, I was an undercover operative. And, may I add, a master of disguise. Your girlfriend's picture was in her room."
Duo stared, then smiled from ear to ear. "That's COOL!...Wait a minute. She's not my girlfriend!...really. And she's not French!"
"Well, whatever." Ace said, pulling off Hilde's purple sweater and fixing the pink camisol tank top underneath. She threw the sweater aside and flopped down on Duo's couch. He shook his head.
what you're just gonna move in now?"
"Maybe." She said, stretching out and looking quite comfortable.
"Wait a minute!" Duo said. "You still hafta show me where you saw the Gundams!!"
closed her eyes. "Maybe later." She yawned. "I think i'm gonna take a nap..."
"Ooooh no!" He said, leaning over her and grabbing her shoulders. "You're gonna tell me-" He shook her awake. "Right noow!!!"
The door creaked open and Hilde walked in. Ace and Duo froze, Duo with a hand on each of Ace's shoulders, and Ace with her hands on Duo's hips as she was trying to push him off. Both looked at Hilde. She glared. "Oh. I see how it is." She dropped her things and stomped away upstairs.
Duo slapped Ace's hands away and ran after her.
Duo stood in the doorway of Hilde's room where she stood packing her things. "It's not what it looks like. She's just some nut job-"
"Duo I'm moving in with Steve."
Duo paused. "Steve?"
guy I went out with today. He asked me to move in with him."
Duo looked helpless. "...but-"
took her suitcase. "Goodbye Duo. It would have never worked. You're just too immature."
Duo watched her push past him and make her way down the stairs. His mouth hung open. Suddenly, he became enraged and followed her down the stairs, waving his arms in the air.
Go on and screw up your life! You were fine here! you had everything!"
turned and snapped at him. "Everything but a descent person to confide in!"
turned, and without another word, was out the door. Duo stood there, panting with rage. A moment later, he let it out in one swift kick at the cabinet door below him which collapsed inward and sent frying pans spilling out. "Shhhit!!" He half whispered, half yelled. Then he dragged himself over to where Ace sat meekly and slumped down in the easy chair with his hand covering his face. Seconds went by.
She squeaked like a little girl in trouble.
not your fault." Duo said, not removing his hand. "She would have left anyway."
shifted uneasily. "I...I'll tell you where I saw your gundam."

He said glancing at the now starry sky outside. "I'm gonna take a nap." He sulked up the stairs. "Feel free to stay, just make yourself at home...or whatever"
