Deep beneath the sea, in a cavern hidden from all humans, the first light shone upon the ancient shrine to the guardian beasts in over 2 millennia. The seal, the Egyptian sign for life, the khan, glowed faintly, barnacles covering the opal stones making up the symbol. Suddenly, the water around the shrine and the island upon which it once stood began to churn. The entire sea reached well above boiling, the water level lowering, slowly revealing the lost city. The metal of the small submersible began to melt, and the scientists trapped inside were doomed, as were the passengers of the ship it came from. All others were given ample warning to leave the water, and the sea life was rushed away by the current, before the same fate bestowed itself upon them as well.
When the sea had dried up, the most magnificent architecture, art, and beauty man had ever lain eyes upon was once again revealed to the world. The channels leading to where the Mediterranean Sea had once been were now closed off with massive Grecian gatehouses, which seemed to have sprouted from the ground, which, by the way, is exactly what happened. At the top of the hill, on what the Greeks called a citadel, was the shrine to the guardian beasts. The opal-studded khan topped the ancient bell tower, taking the place of where a cross would be on a church. This was, in essence, a church of life.
From within these doors, a ling line of people emerged. Their skin was dark, tanned from the sun, their hair a beautiful honey or strawberry blond. Their eyes were slanted, like the one painted on the sarcophaguses of the great Egyptian Pharaohs. They wore sealskin pants; the women also wore a loose silken shirt, usually of a light color. The men all wore a necklace of bones, a small bone taken from any animal larger than a mouse that they had killed, including any humans, showing respect for anything they had killed. At the sides of the men, each carried a sheathed sword; the scabbard was large, making the swords seem to be broadswords, which they were not. The women all carried a small dagger, hanging in the same place as the men held their swords. These were the Atlantians. When the line of people had ended, they all formed a circle around the shrine.
"Bring us peace, guardian beasts! The time has come! The phoenix must bring forth the fight! BRING US THE BEASTS! BRING US JUSTICE!" The people yelled, their English pronunciation perfect, as if they had spoken it since birth. Then, just above the top of the khan, a small bright red flame appeared, slowly growing larger. When it was the size of a two-story house, it slowly changed to the shape of a bird. The great Phoenix, like a pet dog to the true guardian beasts, was off to find the current incarnates of its masters.
It flew above the crumbled Winner Mansion with a loud squawk, diving into the rubble and burning much of it away, freeing it's Masters' bodies. When their bodies were mostly free, the bird flew high, turning to blue flame, then dove, crashing into where they were. When it hit, there was a large explosion, the entire area cleared, left was only a large area of dirt, the size of the mansion grounds. Where the phoenix landed, seven figures stood.
Shinigami, a tall man, in a cloak of black, his mahogany braid hanging down, out of the front of his hood, holding a deadly scythe. The Dragon, of oriental style, was coiled around him, the dragon blue and white in color. An abnormally large white Siberian tiger, a female, was ridden by a blond haired elf that carried a bow and quiver of arrows. An angel, wings of silver and hair of brown, sat astride a great white griffin. The great white flying horse, Pegasus, stood next to a great centaur warrior, with an elegant brown fur and hair color. And, lastly, the phoenix, standing behind them all, the sun setting behind them. The phoenix let out a great squawk, and they began to prepare for the battle at dawn.
