Note: About that little addition to the Zechs and Duo
pairing, I felt that the others could use a bit of
romance to...spice things up so to speak.
~Wild Thang - Part 16~
After breakfast, they sought out the elders with
Heero, Quatre, Wufei, Treize, and Dorothy in tow.
"Wise elders, we request permission to journey into
the jungle." Zechs said.
"For what purpose?" one elder asked.
Everyone looked towards Duo. Duo fidgeted nervously
at the amount of attention.
Stepping forward, Duo said, "I want to find my father.
And if he is dead, then I wish to learn about him."
The elders looked at each other and talked amongst
themselves.
One of them spoke, "The reason is very noble and very
acceptable, but we elders feel that you need some time
in the village before you may journey out again.
Perhaps in about a year's time, ask permission once
again and we shall see."
"NANI!?" the group asked, choked.
"To put it in not so many words, your request is
denied." the elder replied.
"All he wants is to know about his father! Why must
you deny him that? You've known your father. It's
not fair to him to not know!" Zechs protested.
Duo placed a hand on Zechs' arm. Zechs looked down at
Duo curiously. Duo smiled back up.
"It's all right Zechs." Duo replied.
"Demo-" Zechs objected.
"I will just discover who my father is without the
elders' approval. I will find out who my father is.
Whether they like it or not." Duo replied firmly.
The group exited in defiance to the elders' orders.
Relena looked at her brother suspiciously.
"Let me guess, you are going back out there on this
new quest." Relena stated.
"Gomen nasai imouto. I know you wanted to return with
me." Zechs said. "But I cannot allow this to go
unnoticed. I won't leave Duo to do this alone."
Relena pulled Zechs aside from the others. "Oniisan,
do you love him? My instinct is telling me that you
have feelings for this boy."
"So what if I do?" Zechs asked.
"I ask that you be careful and make the right
decision. Whether it is to stay with him, or to bring
him home with you." Relena replied.
"Arigatou, for being so understanding." Zechs said.
"I only wish for the best for you. I want to see you
happy. You deserve so much after working so hard for
so long." Relena replied.
"Then, if I decide to stay here with Duo, I guess this
would be goodbye then." Zechs said.
"Iie. It would be until I next visit this place. I
hope you will be happy in whatever decision you make
oniisan." Relena said, hugging Zechs. "Ganbatte."
"Arigatou." Zechs replied, holding Relena.
The two returned to the rest of the group, who was in
the midst of explaining what a hug was, since Duo saw
Relena and Zechs hugging.
"Understand?" Wufei asked.
"A bit." Duo replied.
"So who else will accompany Zechs and Duo on this
little adventure? Surely you all cannot go!" Relena
pointed out.
"It has been decided that the group that sought Duo
out will aid him in this. I will remain here and see
what devious plot I can unfold against our envious
enemies." Dorothy replied.
"Take good care of Zechs for me." Relena requested.
"Ninmu ryoukai."
"We have got to stop you from doing that." Treize
muttered to himself.
"We leave at noon?" Quatre suggested.
"Sounds fine with me." Wufei said. "It will give us
time to pack and prepare ourselves for the journey
ahead, since we do not have the permission of the
elders."
"We must also be wary. The elders may send enforcers
to stop our traveling." Trowa reminded.
"Once they enter the jungle, they will be no trouble."
Dorothy predicted. "The jungle will take care of its
own."
Duo nodded in agreement. "The jungle has many
predators that these 'enforcers' do not know about. I
have seen the jungle protect its own creatures against
the harm of man. If we do not threaten the jungle,
the jungle will not threaten us. It will shelter us
for this journey."
"Then those who wish us harm will be detoured?" Treize
asked.
"Hai."
"We best get our stuff ready before the enforcers can
act. They will be hoping to stop us before we reach
the jungle. We must get there before they stop us."
Zechs stated.
They went off in pairs for safety to pack their things
and keep a lookout for trouble. Dorothy escorted
Relena back to her room while Quatre and Treize went
off to ready themselves. Trowa and Wufei went to go
see about provisions. Heero acted as a bodyguard to
Zechs and Duo, who snuck quick peeks at each other.
'When will they get past this foolish shyness and get
it on already? Their frustrations are making everyone
tense.' Heero commented to himself.
