Disclaimer- I do not own Gundam Wing. I wish I did, but I don't. I can't. If I did, it wouldn't be a 'kids' show. Hell, it wouldn't be an adults show. >) But I don't own it. Plot, if you want to call it that, because really, it was a dream, belongs to me. ^^V

"You've done it again, Yuy. You shunned away the only person that cared about you." I said, chastizing myself. 'I'll admit she was a bit, obssessive. But she still cared.' I thought. Relena Peacraft had just left my apartment. Crying and emotional damaged. All because of me, Heero Yuy. It had been a year since the final end to the war. All weapons were destroyed, and my fellow Gundam pilots, dispersed. All I had to do was live my life as a normal person. 'Tchah, normal.' I thought. 'How can I, an individual trained for battle, the perfect soldier, live a normal life.' I thought that Relena could help me through that. She said she loved me, and I believed it. The only thing was that I couldn't help but think that I was lying to her. I had said that I returned her love, but I knew it wasn't the truth. That feeling that you get, the love, it wasn't there. There was only one person that I felt that with. But that person I hadn't talked to for at least seven months.

Suddenly, a knock on the door, the door that was just slammed by Relena a little less than ten minutes ago. I grunt, and get up off the couch I was sitting on. I open the door, and the person there is one I would've never expected to be on my doorstep. He waves, and then speaks, "Hey, Heero."

I tense up for a second, still not believing who it is, but then relax and speak his name. "Duo."

He smiles, glad that I acknowledged him positvely. "Hey, how's it been?"

I look him up and down without moving my head. I blink and say, "Well enough. You?" I gesture for him to come in.

He walks in, and I close the door behind him. "I've been alright. So, this's where you've been livin', huh?"

I nod, and let Duo continue. If Duo wanted to talk, he'd talk, and then some. Besides, I was sure that his life was far more interesting than my own.

He sits down on the couch that I formerly occupied, and places his arms behind his head. He looks more or less the same, from the last time I saw him. Same long braid and black clothes, same smiling eyes and happy-go-lucky attitude. His face held less of the boyish roundness, and he had an interesting shaped scar on the right side of his neck. But he was still the same Duo Maxwell, more or less. "Hey, I saw Relena on my way up, she looked pretty upset. What happened?"

'I knew he was going to ask that. It was inevitable.' "Hn." I say, and let him figure it out on his own. I didn't really want to talk about it.

"Hm, well it isn't any of my business is it?" Duo says.

There is an awkward silence for a little while. Duo wasn't talking, which worried me. If that boy wasn't talking to you after no contact during a seven month period, you had to be worried. "What's wrong." I say, more as a statement that a question.

"Oh...I was just thinking. How long's it been since we last talked." He says quietly.

"Seven months." I say, to the point.

"Ah...hmm...seems like it's been longer." He says, in a sort of dazed voice.

"Duo," I prompt. I feel as if I need to know what is on his mind. That need bothers me. 'Why do I care? He's just a friend, one I haven't been in contact with, so I'm not that close to anymore.'

"Oh, right. Sorry, Heero. Listen, I've been thinking. If it's alright, well, if I have your permission, I was wondering if I could crash here for a coupla days."

"You... you want to live with me?" I say, stumbling over my words. 'Damn you, Yuy. You've made it sound as if you are anxious.'

"Yeah, if it's okay. I've been havin' some trouble with my landlord, and he's kicked me out. I was wonderin' if I could stay until I get a place of my own." He says slowly.

I thought for a moment, reassesing the situation. 'Duo wants to live with you. He wants to stay here until he gets an apartment of his own. Only until he gets one. Until then, he'll love me. Love? Where did that word come from? He wants to live with me.' I come to a decision. "Yes." 'Love, where did that come from? Of all the...'

"Really?" He says, sounding happy, "Thanks Heero!" He offers his hand, and I feel an urge to just give him a hug. 'Where are these coming from?!' I shake his hand and nod my head breifly. "So, when can I move in?"

"Now, if you want." I say, sitting down next to him on the couch. I tuck my legs in, and put my hands in my lap.

Duo's eyebrows get lost in his hairline and his eyes widen. Obviously, he wasn't planning for such an abrupt time. "Now? Well, I'm going to have to go down in my car to get my stuff."

"I'll help." I say, without getting up. 'But first, I'd like to catch up with you Duo.' Of course I don't say that, it'd be way past my daily word quota.

"But first, I'd like to catch up with ya, Heero. If that's okay." He says. It's like he read my mind. What am I thinking, Duo's not capable of such things. No human is.

"Hn," I say, allowing him to continue.

"Well, how about this? I'll tell you a little of my life during the past...seven months, was it? And then you tell yours." Duo says.

I give an affirmative grunt, and tune all my senses to Duo. "I've been living alone, doing odd jobs here and there," he begins. "And then I got a steady job working at a parts shop." He paused, and readjusted his position on the couch so he was facing me. "The job paid well, but not well enough, and so my landlord got pissed at me for not paying him the full amout every time. I don't blame him, but he could've given me a longer notice. So I was homeless for a couple of days, but then I thought of you, Heero."

I blinked, 'He thought of me? Why not Quatre, or Trowa. The blonde boy was sure to have somewhere for Duo to stay, and I suppose that Trowa could work something out. Even Wufei would've seemed a better choice than me.'

"At any rate, I looked you up. You weren't there, but Relena was. I called her, she was sure to know you're number. She was a little obsessive about you." He stopped, "Oh, I'm sorry. You're with her aren't you?"

I thought about what had happened with her earlier. Despite her obsession with me, I doubted that she would be back. "No. At least not...no." I said.

"Oh okay. Well, anyway, I called her up, and she gave me your address. It seemed she didn't really want me to call. Hell, she was reluctant to give me the address." He says with a chuckle. "But, I got it. And I came here."

"Hn," I say, processing his story. 'My turn...' I think before I begin. "Well, after the war, I went with Relena. I didn't work, Relena would complain that I wasn't with her enough." I laugh a little at my own troubles. "But, recently, we... ended it." I made my story breif and to the point.

"I'm sorry." Duo says, he genuinely sounds it.

'Of course he sounds genuine, he never lies.' "Don't be." I say in repliance. 'Relena isn't something to be sorry about.'

Duo gets up, and offers his hand again. I take it, but am confused as to what he wanted me to do. That confusion is ended when he lifts me up off the couch. 'I could've gotten up myself.' I think. Strangely, I don't mind it too much. "Well, let's go get my stuff, then?" He asks.

"Ninmu ryoukai," I say, adding a little bit of my own humor into the situation.

"'Mission accepted?' Really, Heero. You haven't changed a bit." Duo says with a laugh.

"Hn," I say with a smirk playing on my lips. Duo smiles at that, and walks to the door. He opens it for me, and I raise an eyebrow as I walk by. As I stand next to him, I notice that he is taller than me now. After all, I am Asian, and he is American. We walk down the flights of stairs, and open the door to the outside. The cool air chills me, I was only wearing my black spandex shorts and a green tanktop.

I shiver a little, it had snowed the night before. 'K'so... it's cold...' I think to myself. Duo seems warm enough in his leather jacket and red turtleneck. I was about to walk down the last steps when I felt a warm hand on my bare skin. Duo had grabbed my arm to stop me. He lets go when I stop and look at him. He shrugs off his jacket and offers it to me. I look at it, and then take it from his hands. After putting it on and zipping it up, I murmer my thanks, "Arigato..."

Duo smiles, "No sweat." We walk down the rest of the stairs, and over to his car. It's a black viper, with leather seats.

'Nice car...' I think to myself as I walk behind Duo to the trunk.

"Now, I don't have too much, just clothes and some toiletries. A couple other things too." The braided boy says, opening the trunk.

He has two very full suitcases, and a big black duffle bag. "I'll take the suitcases," I say as I grab the said items.

"Heero, you don't have to- oh well. No stopping you now." He laughs, and then grabs the duffle. I grunt, and then walk back up to the door. Duo closes the trunk and runs after me. "Wait, wait up Heero!"

I unlock the door, and open it for Duo. "Go on." The braided boy nods, thanking me, and goes up the stairs. I let go of the door, and the follow him up. I think about what it's going to be like living with Duo alone as I lug the suitcases up four flights of stairs. They aren't heavy to me, but to Duo, they might've been a little more difficult. That's why I took them. 'That is the reason, right? Ha, what other reason would it be?'

Duo is waiting for me at the top, next to my door. "It'd help if I could get in, Heero." Duo says sarcastically. I smile and produce a key from the hem of my spandex. Duo raises an eyebrow, and I hand him the key. He unlocks the door, and then looks to me with an interesting expression on his face. He hands the key back to me, and then walks into the living room.

I walk in and set the bags down by the couch. Taking off the Duo's jacket, I also remove my shoes, which I had forgotten to take off after Relena left. The braided boy sets down his own bag next to the ones I put down. "So...where am I going to sleep?"

I raise my eyebrows. 'Where is he going to sleep, Yuy?' "I suppose I'm going to have to sleep on the couch." I say, patting the said furniture with my hand.

"Oh Heero, no! I couldn't sleep in your bed. I'll sleep on the couch! It's okay, I've always slept on my couch." Duo says, alarmed that I would sacrifice myself like that.

"Duo, you're not sleeping on the couch." I say firmly.

"Heero, you're not sleeping on a couch." Duo says with a hint of anger.

"Alright then, we'll both sleep in the bed." I say before I know what I said. 'Shit! Did I just say that? Do you know what that implies, Yuy?!'

"......" For once in his life, Duo Maxwell is silent.

"Or...I'll sleep on the couch..." I say, trying to cover up what I just said. Duo's eyes are wide with shock. 'I can't believe what I just said. Yuy, you are an idiot. The idiot of all idiots.'

"...how big is your bed?" The braided boy says slowly.

"....?" 'Is he actually implying that he will do it. He'll sleep in the same bed as me?' "King sized..." I say, confused by the situation I created.

"We...could...No. Heero, I'm sleeping on the couch, and that's final. No ifs, ands, or buts." Duo says, ending the argument.

"....." My silence expresses horribly my confusion of feelings and emotions. 'Do I have feelings for this boy? Other than just friends. Is he the one that I had previously mentioned. Is he the one?' The questions do not cease travelling frantically through my troubled mind.
