Chapter 1: Life as they knew it
Year 2110
In orbit of Jupiter
Unidentified vessel discovered
SSV-Tarawa investigating
What the hell is it? ;The captain asked for the third time. Knowing what the answer would be but still
doing it out of shock.
Sir, I do not know. Came the answer from a fresh out of training ensign who looked barely old enough to
shave let alone have a go between the sheets with anything other than lotion and a box of Kleenex,
making the captain chuckle at the thought.
Open hailing frequencies ensign. Get weapons online and warmed up just in case we need to defend
ourselves. Hoping silently to himself that they would not be needed, and the vessel in front of them would
probably laugh at them if it could. I want the probes to get as close as possible and look&n bsp;for any signs of
life or any markings that will tell us where this came from or who owns it.
A chorus of aye aye sir's followed in the wake of that order as the mentioned sections went to work.
Meanwhile aboard the UNSC Everest (Valiant class super heavy cruiser)
Once the unknown craft was picked up by radar the shipboard AI watched it closely. She had already
figured out where they were and still did not believe it to be in orbit of Jupiter in the sol system. As the
ship drew closer to the Everest she began activating the protocols to wake the crew from cryo and
gathered as much information as she could to give Admiral Cole upon his arrival on the bridge. She
checked to see if he was up and moving and in true Cole fashion he was already half way to the bridge.
Jesus I hate cryo came a mumbled sentence from the mouth of Admiral Cole. Every time he came out of
it he felt stiff and like he'd jumped in to the Atlantic in an ice suit. He reached for the locker with his
name on it and got dressed making a mental note to get something warm once on the bridge. Upon
reaching the elevator that would take him to the bridge a lieutenant ran face first in to his back. Turning
around he saw a very confused Shepard, ass firmly planted on the deck. Helping him up he asked what
got him so distracted.
Lt. Shepard responded that he was on his way to the bridge to bring weapons online and make sure that
the targeting systems were still&nb sp;working at maximum capacity, not that he doubted the AI he just liked to
be sure.
Cole understood and had to fight to keep a gut busting laugh from escaping him at how& nbsp;embarrassed the
Lt looked. To distract himself and the Lt he said that he like that his crew (or at least Shepard) was on the ball. Then told him to get his ass in the Admirals elevator and he'd give him a ride up since the crew
elevator was ;in another section which made no sense to him. Shepard complied and as the doo rs closed
they had no idea that the world they knew was about to come crashing down faster than the Hindenburg.
Back aboard the Tarawa& nbsp;
Sir the probe will have a visual in 5 seconds.
Great now&n bsp;put it up on the view screen Ensign.
Yes sir, right away.&nbs p;
As the image came on line the captain whistled in disbelief at what he saw. Not onl y could he read the
name of the vessel, he saw that it had more weapons on it then any ship that was currently in the Alliance
Navy. Hell it could probably wipe&nb sp;out half if not more of the Alliance fleet and not have to worry about
giving them a reach around or a call back. Still he could not believe that he was seeing English on the side
of a vessel in the middle of nowhere. Just then he was informed that they were being hailed...&nbs p;
Across the void in orbit of Jupi ter
Admiral Cole was relieved to h ear that the approaching ship was friendly and full of humans, though he
did not know what the hell the Systems Alliance was. He had granted them permission to dock alongside
the Everest.
Both he and Lt. Shepard let out the breath they were holding& nbsp;when the initial hail had been sent out.
Shepard joked that if there&nb sp;was a woman on that little ship he would marry her. To which everyone
laughed and told him no balls knowing he'd take the bet.
Cole told Shepard that he was going to go down to the other ship and that he wanted him to come since
the ship XO went tits up in cryo, effectively making him the brand new XO.
Shepard dropped what he was doing and promptly followed the Adm. to docking bay one after making
sure the AI (who still had yet to choose a name), was okay with the targeting system and was pretty sure
she rolled her eyes at him in response and flipped him the bird. He mentioned that to the Adm. who
started laughing deeply. This got him laughing harder ;in return, just at that moment the AI inform ed the
Admiral the Tarawa had docked. Shepard looked at the admiral and asked him if he knew that the Lt. had
been joking about the whole getting married to any woman on that ship.
Adm. Cole stopped laughing and looked Shepard in the eye for a second before saying that no balls had
been called and he would shove his ass out of an air lock if he went&nb sp;back on not only his word for taking
the bet but for backing out of said bet.
I understand sir said a slightly red& nbsp;in the face Shepard.
Good now let's go greet the SSV Tarawa and find&nb sp;out what the hell is going on and where the ever livin
holy fuck the UNSC is.

Captain, engineering just called and said they needed you to come down and look at the FTL said it was
important.
Very w ell Chelse, these damned engineers are the worst I've ever had I guess im sending my XO to go
greet Adm. Cole, charm his socks off.
Yes sir just don't expect&nbs p;me to smile with an O chelse said raising her eye brow and smirking (which the
rest of the Galaxy would become familiar with by 2185). Turning she left&nb sp;muttering that she wished she
could space those retarded engineers ;and was also pretty sure they made it&n bsp;to the fleet by wearing holes in
carpets under& nbsp;desks. Off went the Grandmother of the galaxies greatest hero to go meet the people who
were about to change not only her life but the rest of humanities as well.
Hello Admiral I am lieutenan t Jane but most everyone calls me chelse. I'm the Tarawa's XO the captain
had an emergency in the engine room he had to deal with and he apologizes for any insult that that&nb sp;may
seem like. She couldn't help but keep eye fucking the man standing next&nb sp;to the Adm.
That is okay by me Lt. Jane, I am Admiral Cole and this is my XO Lt. Shepard. Requesting permission to
board the SSV Tarawa I am sure we all have a lot to discuss and even an questions for each other.
Shepard was lost in thought imagining chelse out of&n bsp;her cloths the fact that she had been eye fucking him
was not lost either . He didn't hear the admiral when he was ;introduced but ironically he nodded at that
exact moment whilst in his fantasy. He swore that once they started moving to an empty storage room that
doubled as a conference room, she was swaying her hips more then was necessary. But he had to give
credit to her genes cause she had an ass that made everyone in the area stop to include women. It didn't
hurt that her chest was a 9 out of&nbs p;10 (cause the only tens were fake and hers certainly were not thought the
Grandfather of the very same hero).
Cole couldn't help but smack Shepard behind the head when he caught him staring though he could not
blame him. She was fishing and Shepard had bit that line hard. It wasn't long before they had reached the
conference room and taken their seats. Chelse noticed that Shepard was rubbing the back of his head and
was slightly red in the fa ce as if he had gotten caught doing something wrong and she smirked.
Admiral&n bsp;Cole had a hard time believing what he was hearing. The UNSC did not exist and Humanity was
still exploring the sol sys tem. So he did the only thing he could think of and offered to join the System
Alliance and hand over all his technology to upgrade humanities fleets. They loved the pelican drop ships
and the Marines even though they had their own version that they c alled Alliance Marines. And they
really loved the shield and armor upgrades as well as all ;the new ship designs they got from the AI. Once
Adm. Cole agreed to all of this and the Everest became the newest ship in the Alliance fleet keeping its
designation as a Valiant class super heavy cruiser. Th ey then set course for Earth, and got to know more
about the new place they were going to call home from now on.
I know I rushed& nbsp;the meeting of Shepards grandparents in this universe. Let me know how y'all like it I am
Planning&nbs p;more chapters. The next chapter is going to jump to the discovery of the Relay and the meeting
of Jane Shepard's parents John and Hannah.
