Chapter 26

A brief reprieve, Lancor's legacy lives on.

Now that the bomb has finished its work, and everyone is okay, the players can play in the game again. Now the gang's all here with them just logging in. Especially with the news that Lancor has been defeated now, everyone can relax. Also since that the BA is gone, everyone can party!

Howdy: What? You two were kissing!?

Boss: Well...um...well...T.W...

T.W was backing away for not being involved.

Howdy: Ohh! Boss and Bijou sitting in a tree! *Stan joining* K I S S I N G! First come love, then

comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage!

Boss: Okay enough!

He hits them with his axe.

Then T.W whams Boss with his backpack-

T.W: Honestly what goes inside you're head?! You could've put somebody's eye out or slice off a head with that thing.

Bijou: There is nothing to be laughing about you two.

Both: Sorry....

Pashmina: So what as it like you two? How'd you make it out of that horrid situation?

Penelope: Ookwee!

B+B just blush and put their paws behind their heads and make some "Umm...well..."

Hamtaro: Let's... get back to reality. What should we do?

Hakeru: Well I don't seem to know anything. We did everything else I can think of in this game.

Maxwell: Well... We could go find the Spirit of Iris or something.

They wonder what he means.

Maxwell: Don't you remember? Now that we found all the other spirits, Iris should be opened up. We can go look for it.

Hamtaro: Good idea. But why suggest it?

Maxwell: Well we do have nothing else to do.

Sandy: Leave it to Maxy to find us something.

Hamtaro: Okay. Let's see if we can find it.

They walk away, while a BA camera secretly spies on them. Now the ham-hams are walking through the woods. They come to a fork in the road.

T.W: Which way?

Hamtaro: I think we should go this way.

Maxwell: No. The townspeople of the game said something about a mysterious aura being on

Mount Gloom. And the mountain is this way.

Hamtaro: But the sign up there says Short cut to the left.

Stan: Seems we've come to a little point of indecision.

They wonder.

Stan: Let's flip a coin and see which way. *holds a coin* Call it! *flips it*

Hamtaro: Heads!

The coin lands on tails.

Stan: Sorry dude. It's tails.

Hamtaro: Oh well.

Maxwell Okay. We go that way.

They go the long way. Now they are reaching the slope of the mountain area.

Maxwell: There it is!

They see Mount Gloom.

Sandy: Oh. Pretty lights!

They see aura lights up there.

Hamtaro: I wonder if Iris is up there. Let's go up ham-hams!

They start walking up the hill.

Meanwhile...in the real world...

Laura was at her computer just starting to wake when-

Laura: Hmm? An e-mail from Travis-

She opens it and starts to read it-

Dear Laura

There's something I must tell you, first off I'm Nike. Second of all there's something about Iris that worries me, meet me at your cyber home in the game as soon as possible

Travis

Laura: I'm on my way!

Now back with the ham hams...still climbing-

Bijou: Oh. I'm tired.

Hamtaro: Should we stop?

Boss: Nonsense. I can carry you if you like.

Bijou: Thanks Boss. I'd appreciate it.

He carries her on his back.

Boss: Okay let's go.

They continue on.

Cappy: Whoa! We're so high up.

Howdy: Well you better not look down, because it's a long way down from where it looks like.

Cappy is a bit nervous.

T.W: Don't worry, as long as we stick together will be fine.

They keep on walking sideways across some narrow ledge. Cappy slips and falls a bit.

Hamtaro: Cappy!

Cappy grabs onto a ledge.

Cappy: Ahhhhh!!!! Help me!

Boss: Whoa! Hang on Cappy, I'll save you!

He sticks a tip of his Shadow Chain magic to the wall and slides down.

Bijou: Be careful!

Boss stops next to Cappy. But is a bit not close.

Boss: Come on little guy, grab my paw, and we'll go up together.

Cappy: I'm scared. I'll fall!

Boss: No you won't. Just come over here.

Cappy nudges a bit, but he eventually starts moving toward him.

Boss: That's it, a little closer now.

Cappy reaches for Boss, and he grabs him. He pulls him onto his back.

Boss: Now hang on tight. *Cappy wraps arms around his neck* Not...too...hard...

Cappy: Oh. Sorry.

Boss climbs up the larger ledge that the others are on.

T.W: He's gonna make it! Come on man!

But then the chain goes out of wall and Boss and Cappy begin to fall.

Others: Oh no!

As they fall, something happens. They are now floating and glowing.

Boss: Hey, what the?

Maxwell is using his magic to pull them up by levitation.

Sandy: Maxy? What are you doing?

Maxwell: Just a little more....

Hakeru: Is he using Levitation?

Hamtaro: Look!

Boss and Cappy land on the ledge. Everyone is happy. Cappy is still in tears.

Cappy: Oh thank you guys. I was so scared. *sniff*

Pashmina: it's okay, all over. There there.

He gets a hug from Pashmina and Penelope.

Howdy: Lucky ham.

Sandy: You did it Maxwell! You saved them.

Boss: Thanks Max.

Maxwell: No problem. I knew learning the power of levitation would come in handy sometime later.

Hamtaro: Come on. Let's keep going!

As they walk.

Bijou: That was very brave of you Boss. You two did great.

Boss: Thanks.

They keep going.

Meanwhile...at Raishiuko's house....Nike comes in.

Raishiuko: Hey Nike. You came.

Nike: Raishiuko. Good thing you showed up.

They go to each other.

Nike: So...we have to talk about...

Raishiuko: Iris? Yeah I know.

Nike: You know. It's kind of cool now. Maybe we can go and...Um... you know. Look for it. It can be fun maybe?

Raishiuko: Yeah, maybe.

Meanwhile...the ham-hams are near the top of the mountain.

Pashmina: Look! The lights are getting brighter!

Penelope: Ookwee!

Maxwell: We should be at the top almost.

Hamtaro: Come on ham-hams!

They keep climbing. They reach the top. But they find... Nothing at the top!

T.W: There's nothing here!

Stan: Man. We climb all the way to the top of this dirt ball for nothing? Talk about lame man. *walks to center* There's nothing here at all, see?

He accidentally steps on something, the place begins to shake.

Sandy: Stan. What did you do now?

Stan: Don't look at me man! I'm bailing!

He runs for it, but the path is blocked off by a rock, bigger than them, but they can't pass.

Stan: Whoa! Where'd that come from!?

Hamtaro: That wasn't there when we came here, was it?

They look up and see a beam of light hit the center of the place revealing a crystal. While this is happening, a BA camera is still watching them.

Hamtaro: Whoa.... Is that, Iris?

Boss: Go on. Go touch it.

Hamtaro: Me? Why me?

Boss: You suggested this little mission, you go.

Hamtaro: Umm...okay.

He goes over to the crystal. At a slow rate, but he gets to it.

Hamtaro: Uhh....

He is about to touch it, when a laser hits his paw.

Hamtaro: Owchichi! That hurt!

The laser came from the BA camera.

Dexter: A camera! Someone's been watching us.

Howdy: No duh, Sherlock. That's why it stopped us.

The BA camera begins to transform. It converts into an automated laser gun that shoots multiple rounds at once. With four times the shooting power, the thing begins to shoot lasers at the ham-hams. They dodge and run around to avoid being hit.

Dexter: This thing is gonna get a little rust!

He uses Time Magic on the camera. But it doesn't do anything and shoots Dexter.

Dexter: But it should of rust!

T.W: Must have some kind of metal that can never rust.

Hakeru: I got it!

She goes to jump kick it, but a shield knocks her away.

T.W: You okay!?

Hakeru: Yes! And I found out, that it has a shield too!

The thing keeps firing away. Boss and Hamtaro hide behind a rock.

Boss: Hey Maxwell! Anyway you can disarm this thing!?

Maxwell: No! Unless I know what type of shield it uses, maybe we can find something to neutralize it and attack it.

Sandy: I can make it form a shield. Will you be able to find out then?

Maxwell: Okay. When the shield goes up, I'll use my Data Info card to find out what its weaknesses are.

Sandy: Right!

Sandy goes to attack the camera. First she dodges, and then tries a kick. The shield's up.

Maxwell: Got it!

He slashes a card and he gets a piece of paper. Sandy is knocked down and she retreats.

Maxwell: Shadow eh? His weakness is shadow attacks!

Boss: I got plenty. Hey Hamtaro, ready for that one move I made up?

Hamtaro: Yeah!

Boss: Alright.

They both come out and go for the camera. First Boss goes up and attacks the camera. Its shield goes up.

Boss: Eat lead!

He uses his axe to destroy the shield. Then Hamtaro jumps on Boss's back and takes out his sword. He slices the camera in two. After some short circuiting, it explodes. Everyone cheers.

Hamtaro: We did it!

They celebrate.

Boss: Nice thinking Max.

Maxwell: Thanks Boss.

Hamtaro: Hey you guys. There's something you should see about the thing we destroyed!

Everyone goes over to Hamtaro, who is by remains of the camera. They see a BA logo.

All: The Black Alliance!?

T.W: How on. Why is there a BA logo on here?

Boss: You don't think that...

Hamtaro: I don't know. Do you think that...?

The crystal glows brighter.

Hamtaro: The crystal!

It glows more. Hamtaro goes over to it in awe, and slowly touches it. The crystal glows more and Hamtaro gets a strange feeling in his body as he still touches the crystal. Beams of light come from the crystal and go into his body. And after a bit, Hamtaro is knocked back from the still active crystal.

Bijou: Hamtaro!

Boss: *catches him* You okay little buddy? Speak to me!

Hamtaro: Uggggghhh....I feel weird.

They look and see a slight image of some being before it disappears.

Hakeru: What was that?

T.W: Was that?

Then all of a sudden, electric visors surround them and electrocute the ham hams. They all faint, unconscious. A cage is formed around them. A shadowy figure is shown above them. It's Lancor!
