The next morning, Boss and Snoozer weren't too pleased when they saw Jam, in fact, they were a bit upset. Jam simply looked at the two hams, with that "Here we go again." feeling. "Alright, let's hear it." he said.

"That's what I was going to say." said Boss.

"Do you know how hard it was to sleep last night?" asked Snoozer. "I get very cranky if I don't get all my hours of sleep."

"By the way you sleep, you shouldn't even be whining."

"Well that scent kept me up."

"That's a first." said Boss and Jam.

Boss refocused his attentions to Jam, "You aren't off the hook yet, Jam. I'm 'bout to cast you into the water."

This is where Sandy, Bijou, Pashimna, Penelope and Sparkle walk in. "Okay Boss, start hounding me." said Jam.

"Hamina told me that you have no interest in Roll last night." said Boss.

"Well Boss-"

"Jam, I wanna really get to the point about this here, what the hell is going on with you and Roll?"

"Well the thing is-"

"Do you want Roll, or not?"

Once again, it smacked Jam in the face. It was another installment of Do You or Don't You Want Her? "Are you finished yet?" asked Jam.

"Not by a long shot." Boss answered.

"Then please finish. That way, you can be dumbfounded when I answer you."

"For the past few days, you've been oblivious to a certain ham girl in heat. I'll finish up by asking you, what's the deal with you and Roll?"

That's Boss for you, always looking out for a fellow ham. "I'll admit one thing to you, Jam doesn't find mating in his dictionary. I have no need for courtship, let alone sexual intercourse."

"And when do you get seperated from your balls?" Sandy mumbled to yourself.

"Still talking head over there are we, perhaps another wake-up call will suffice?"

"You, heard me?"

"I have very good hearing. I better make this clear to everybody, Roll is a great gal, but don't meddle in this sort of thing when it comes to me and her. Sometimes you just should let things naturally fall into place. Now when one of us asks for help, then act like intermediates, but nothing more, okay?"

"Fine." the other hams answered.

"Thanks." Finall it's been cleared up.

That morning went well, right? Well the rest of day just continued to plague Jam. "Jam, I moment of your time." said Stan.

"Fine." Jam said as he followed Stan away from the group. "S'up?"

"I just wanna know if it's true about Roll. How when we met her, she was already in heat, is that true, Jam?"

"Yeah, it's true." Jam began to gig. "Sheesh, I knew you hams were love-bent, but you really go all out when it comes to mating."

"The girls are natural romantics, you know that."

"What girl isn't?"

"Ruby for one."

"She's a romantic, a non materialistic one, but a romantic nonetheless."

"So I wanna know the real deal about this thing with you and Roll, because I don't buy the stories you've been telling."

"All right Stan, I'll be real with you. Roll's my baby, but..."

"But what?"

"She's just not ready for this sort of thing yet."

"Jam?"

"I'll rephrase it. She hasn't taken the initiative yet, Stan, and until she does, I won't make her rush into it."

"Well, you might wanna reconsider that, before she gets violent, know what I mean?"

"Yes."

"She's probably waiting for you to move on the chessboard first."

"Stan, that's actually a wise thing to say."

"Hey, I'm not a flirt all the time."

"I see that now."

"It's time for you to step up to the plate now, don'tcha think?"

".....Perhaps."

"There it is then, well let's get back to the hams."

Jam and Stan walked back to rejoin their friends and even though he didn't show it, Jam was a little annoyed at the words he shared with Stan. "So Roll, I really wonder if you and Jam will ever mae some soup together." said Pepper.

"I hope so too." said Roll. "I really like Jam, he's really sweet and warm hearted."

"Humble eh, well you should talk about making a little soup together."

"Soup.... I don't know if I'm ready for that sort of thing yet."

"Belive me sugar, your scent tells the tale that you're ready for some soup. But why stop there, go all the way?"

"I'm not ready."

"Roll, take it from me. All the signs are there, the chronic urining, the constant blushing when Jam is mentioned, the scent that's starting to bring some of our male friends to jump on you and the sweet behavior that you've been using. You have to realize that your body is now primed for copulation."

"I know."

"Well ask Jam to mate with you."

"Jam isn't like that."

"How come?"

"Pepper, Jam isn't like that, to court a sunny when she's ripe and ready. If that was the case, we'd have been bred by now. We've been together for a lot of seasons and nothing has happened. I don't think that Jam wants to mate with me."

"Have you asked him?"

"Well, no."

"Then it's time you did. Hopefully, our party will give you the courage to step up your feelings for Jam. He needs to know, and I'm sure he'll tell you if it were him."

"You're right, Pepper."

"Girl, you reming me of a chicken with her head cut off, you don't know what's really wrong with you. But your body is telling you, now you have to respond with your judgement. The last thing we need is for you to get into your heat so bad that you start getting out of hand."

"Again, you're right Pepper." Roll sighed, "I just with I knew what he feels right now..."
